if i was to guess, because westbrook is supposed to be a sinkerball pitcher to counter NY's power, and byrd is a flyball pitcher. But westbrook always had problems with NY, so don't know why he pitched
Yeah, it doesn't make any sense. Wedge plays Nixon because of his "history" against the Yankees but pitches Westbrook with his 0-2 and 12.46 ERA against them?

Is there any talk of having CC pitch game 4, on three days rest, and having a fully rested Carmona for game 5? That is, if we lose this game.

Byrd is pitching Game 4 if necessary. I don't think Game 5 has been announced.

i honestly don't think we'll score another run, this team just had its will broken. Wedge better NEVER let nixon play again..not to mention letting fultz pitch when bentancourt is fresh

it doesn't matter who goes to the mound for the Yankees, the difference is Torre will know when to pull him to minimize damage and Wedge will still stand there playing with his five day stubble while every tribe fan knows he should be out to the mound.

It seems like he is conceding this game and plans to take a hard run at the Yankees in game 4. I can't blame him. It doesn't look like the Indians were gonna score again anyway.

Yeah, just keep swinging at balls. Maybe one of these times it'll be a strike.

I had told my wife that I predicted the Yankees in 4. I am now predicting the Yankees in 5 (and I'm an Indians fan). I think this game allowed them to get momentum and wake up their bats. The Indians won't win at Yankee Stadium, and I just don't see them closing the Yankees out in game 5.
The Indians have a mental block about the Yankees, the same way the Browns do against the Steelers. I know we won the first 2 games, but I believed (and still do) that if we didn't close it out tonight, this series was over (in the Yankees' favor).
Prove me wrong, Tribe!
I am unfamiliar with this feeling of optimism

Just turned the game on, 8-3 ouch. Some doom and glomers here tonight, haha. If I had said last Tuesday you'd be up 2-1 after three games, you'd have taken that in a heartbeat. This one ain't over either, all you need is a walk, two bloops and a blast and you're back in it.

Keep in mind that the Yankees pitching is just about out of gas. So long as Byrd has a decent outing, tommorow night will be the night.

Dude, the Yankees lineup is insane, their pitching is what hurts them. They are just about out of good pitchers. I keep telling you, tommorow night man. Just relax dude.

The history of Cleveland sports gives people a reason to be concerned. I'm not saying it's over, but it would have been nice not to give them the opportunity to mount a comeback.

O ... Only I .... In C ... Cleveland ... do fans think that when you are up 2-1 in a best-of-five series, you are doomed.
