...not bashing you for posting the article, I saw it too through another site.

The title of the article is "Wild rumor of 2018 Russell Wilson-to-Browns trade discussion makes Seattle and Cleveland both look dumb"

There's no concrete proof the talks happened, who called first, who said "no", if the talks got far enough for someone to say "no" or what compensation would be sent back. With all that unknown, why do both teams look dumb? Also, this...

"...it makes no sense why talks even started or why the Browns didn’t jump at the chance."

Who says the Browns weren't jumping at the chance, again, assuming the talks even started. Talk about clickbait bullchit.

Seattle would have been stupid to do this deal, we would have been to not do this deal.

I don't like misleading titles.. Start off with rumor, or past rumor.

I'm so glad that didn't happen! RW is great player. he isn't a good fit for CLE though... we would have destroyed him

I disagree. If we had Russell Wilson w/OBJ, Landry, Chubb, Hunt, etc..........we would have been in the playoffs and probably won the Super Bowl last year.

I thought rumors were either disallowed or at least, discouraged.
Solid rumors based on some evidence or insider information, could/should be fine.

Yikes. No. I wouldn't have traded the #1 overall pick for Wilson. I said it then and I'll say it again... The only 2 QB's I would take over Baker are Wentz or Mahomes.

It wouldn't have mattered anyway, we still wouldn't have made the playoffs the way we were coached last season. That was the 2nd most disappointing season. Ugh.

How anyone could come away with anything other than this conclusion I don't know.

Because they are in the tank for Baker Mayfield so deep that they can’t backtrack at all.

I don't think I would trade the #1 overall pick for a 29 yr old QB. Especially with the QB's in the '18 draft.

If Seattle offered up the deal then there must have been a QB they wanted over Wilson. Or there were contract issues...

Mahomes and Wentz were the two I coveted in previous drafts. Kudos to KC to have the wherewithal to trade up.

A quick fix, sure, go for it. If you want to build a winner for 15 years, I don't think I would do it.

Russell Wilson is not "a" quarterback. He is a top five QB in the league that has played great despite adverse circumstances.

I think a lot of people don't realize just how good Wilson is. His OL over the years has mostly been putrid. He makes plays when they aren't there. He is clutch. He is professional. He's accurate. And he elevates the play of others.

I find it a bit hard to believe Seattle was exploring a trade. The only thing I can think of is that they new they were going to have pay him a ton of money around a year later.

I'm well aware, thank you.

I've even said at one point Wilson was the best QB in the league.

If it's the 2020 draft or if it were Mahomes, I'd make the deal.

I guess people also don't realize how good Mayfield is, either.

2018 Mayfield or 2019 Mayfield?

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

Basically this is about the 2018 rumor and not today's football.

Wilson is was a great QB don't know how much gas is in his tank now. 2018 that was a no brainer. But it was a rumor then why rehash a rumor that was nothing more than A RUMOR???

Why did we never hear of this rumor in 2018 or after the draft if this is true?

If I'm a GM and I have the 1st and 4th picks in the draft in what is touted as possibly the deepest QB draft in years, there's no way I'm going to trade one of those picks for a 29 year old quarterback who is going to require 50m per year. And the money isn't even the issue.
