Sleepy Joe and Melba Toast Amy! Such an exciting ticket said nobody ever. Yet still slightly better than Trump/Pence. Well at least she will be a decent game manager and capable of holding the office until a leader comes up. What are the Vegas odds on Joe finishing his term I wonder? Anybody know? I wonder if Joe's camp feels as if he already OWNS the black (POC) vote so they are targeting white midwesterners and the suburban white female vote with this? I am surprised his first vetting was not Kamala Harris or Stacy Abrams. Oh that's right Harris punked him in the debates and he just took a dump on Abrams during a live Lawrence O'Donnell interview. I don't think Liz even gets a look so I wonder who else in on the short list?

This just happened to be at the top of my newsfeed this morning. Biden's vice president shortlist emerges, as Demings says she's being vetted NBC News Adam Edelman and Julia Jester ,NBC News•May 21, 2020 A growing number of contenders to be Joe Biden’s vice presidential nominee indicated Thursday that they’ve advanced to a round of intense vetting, suggesting that a shortlist for the slot is taking shape. Rep. Val Demings, D-Fla., has formally begun interviewing with the Biden campaign for the vice presidential nomination and that the vetting process is underway, a source with direct knowledge told NBC News Thursday. “We’re definitely on a list,” the source said. Demings, D-Fla., in an interview with SiriusXM’s “The Dean Obeidallah Show,” said Wednesday night she was on “the shortlist” to be Biden’s vice presidential nominee, saying that she’d accept the job if offered. “If Vice President Biden asked me to serve along with him, I would be honored to do just that,” she said. 0:13 3:18 New poll puts Biden 11 points ahead of Trump nationally Scroll back up to restore default view. Demings has represented an Orlando-area district — a key territory in the critical battleground state of Florida — since 2017. Earlier in her career, she was the police chief of Orlando. She also served as a House manager during the Senate impeachment trial of President Donald Trump. Meanwhile, CBS News reported that Sen. Amy Klobuchar, D-Minn., was asked by the Biden campaign to undergo a formal vetting for consideration for the veep slot. Klobuchar ran for the Democratic presidential nomination but dropped out in March to endorse Biden. Earlier Thursday, NBC News reported that Sen. Jeanne Shaheen, D-N.H., had declined a request from Biden’s presidential campaign to be vetted as a potential running mate. The Biden team's interest in Shaheen was first reported by Manchester, N.H., ABC affiliate WMUR, which also reported that Maggie Hassan, the state’s other Democratic senator, has agreed to be vetted by the Biden campaign for consideration for the vice presidential nomination. Earlier this week, Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer disclosed that she has been in touch with Biden’s team. During a "Today" interview Tuesday she said, “it was just an opening conversation.” If elected, Biden, 77, would be the oldest-ever president-elect, which has put an intense focus on his pick for vice president. Biden has spoken often of seeing himself as a transitional presidential, leading many politics-watchers to believe that his running mate could eventually be the leader of the Democratic Party and, if Biden won in 2020, the likely Democratic nominee in 2024. Biden has said he expects the vetting process to take five to eight weeks, which would point to an announcement occurring no sooner than July. “They're now in the process of thoroughly examining a group of women, all of whom are capable in my view of being president. And there's about a dozen of them,” Biden said during a virtual fundraiser last week. Biden had previously vowed to choose a woman as his running mate. In March, She the People, an influential group of women of color, released an internal poll showing that Stacey Abrams, the former minority leader of the Georgia state House, and Sen. Kamala Harris, D-Calif., were the leading Democratic vice presidential picks among their members. Other women who have been frequently mentioned by politicians, strategists and voters include Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto, D-Nev., and New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham. https://www.yahoo.com/news/bidens-vice-president-shortlist-emerges-221746729.html

I'll admit, I know almost nothing about Val Demmings except that she "made a name for herself" during the impeachment hearings.
I like Klobacher's policy's but if you mixed her in with 3 cardboard cutouts of herself, it would take 15 minutes to figure out which was the real one. Good choice on paper but very uninspiring in real life.
I don't know what most Michiganders feel about Whitmer, could be a good choice if it would help Biden take Michigan, but I think it would be amusing watching Trump's head explode and breaking both thumbs from overaggressive tweeting if she were named Biden's VP candidate

Yes, they should just overlook this comment and follow the common sense of voting Democrat as always.
I believe it is why they have been so successful over the decades.

And you find nothing cringeworthy about that statement? I guess you centrists just EXPECT blacks to vote for your guy because you feel ENTITLED to that vote, almost like you OWN them. smfh
You just don't say crap like this ever, period. No wonder he almost got his ass kicked by a guy named popcorn.

It makes me sick that he's just going to pick a woman because he's trying to pander not necessarily who's best for the job. It's some type of half ass affirmative action. It wreaks of amateurism.
He also takes the black voters for granted and patronizes them every chance he gets.
Find what you love and let it kill you.

Biden is an absolute embarrassment. It’s going to be awful for me when I have to vote for him. I can’t vote Libertarian in protest of the two inept majorities as I usually do. Trump is just that bad.
Anyone who endorses or aligns themselves with either one of these parties after what we have seen for decades, and now have seen in a crisis, should be ashamed of themselves. If you can’t see the damage both have caused, you are blinded by your allegiance.
I’m so saddened by people right now. I literally have no faith in the people of this country anymore. Political sides rule the day. That will be the ruination of this country and the world.

We are pretty much on the same page. I fight for progressives because their policies are meant to help working class people. And there is a faction of the right that only wants to make things better for people too. But the big money behind these establishment parties only care about holding onto power and the greed that drives them.
When I see a government react to the pandemic by handing 2.5-4 Trillion to big money interest then argue that regular people can get by for 3-4 months on $1200, I know this government doesn't care about working class people. If they had pumped that 4 trillion into programs and checks for the working class, it would have been spent immediately back into the economy and the economy would never have skipped a beat.

Trump's routing number revealed as press secretary announces he's donating quarterly salary to HHS: reportPresident Trump will donate his quarterly paycheck to the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) as it responds to the coronavirus pandemic. White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany made the announcement at Friday's press briefing. It marks the second time the president has donated his quarterly salary to HHS, with his paycheck from the fourth quarter of 2019 also going to the agency. The New York Times noted Friday night that as McEnany displayed the president's check to HHS at the briefing, she appeared to hold up the real thing and revealed Trump's private Capital One bank account and routing numbers. The Hill has reached out to the White House for comment. Officials did not respond to a request for comment by the Times, but the paper was told by an administration official that fake checks have not been used at the briefing in the past. The president pledged to donate his quarterly $100,000 salary upon taking office, and he has given it to various government agencies over his first three years in the White House. He has previously donated his salary to the departments of Homeland Security, Transportation and Veterans Affairs, as well as the government agency fighting the opioid crisis, among others. According to Johns Hopkins University, more than 95,000 people in the U.S. have died from the coronavirus as of Friday. The donation comes as HHS and other agencies work on "Operation Warp Speed," Trump's push to develop a COVID-19 vaccine. https://thehill.com/homenews/administrat...avirus-responseHe only hires the best people... lmao, you can't make this stuff up.

“You ain’t black” vs “look at my African American friend”
What a disgrace.
“To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public.”

That measly 1200 dollars has pissed me off royally. People were displaced from work through no fault of their own. Given the way our society works, these people had no way to take care of themselves. And they are given 1200 dollars and should feel grateful?? While businesses are given millions? B.S. These aren’t lazy people just quitting their jobs.
It’s a once in a lifetime event. It’s serious. The people making this out to be like the normal flu, or worse, saying it’s fake or being over blown sicken me. The Left leaning people have bugged me for a long time. They are, in my experience, elitist and annoying. But, after seeing the Right leaners during this virus experience......they have now lost me completely. I don’t like either one of you as a party, but the people on the right side are losing me big time.
Our “leaders” are very bad. Their response to a crisis has been horrible, bordering on criminal.

https://www.breitbart.com/entertainment/...n-this-country/BREITBART CORONAVIRUSBIDEN BACKLASHCHEAT-BY-MAILOBAMAGATECHINA COVERUPUK BOAT MIGRANTS Hudson: A Deplorable Moment for Every Black American in This Country Jerome Hudson/Biden for PresidentJerome Hudson/Biden for President JEROME HUDSON22 May 20202,344 5:56 Joe Biden saying, “You ain’t black” if you’re on the fence about voting for him over President Donald Trump is beyond insulting. Am I insulted? Hell yes. Am I surprised? Hell no. I’ve been called a coon “with bad African blood” because my skin is black, and I’ve never, nor would I ever, vote for a Democrat. And why the hell would I? The Democratic Party was founded in the 1820s in part to preserve chattel slavery in America. After the Civil War, pro-slavery zealots in the Democratic Party became pro-segregation barbarians who brutalized, terrorized, and lynched those of my parents and grandparents’ generation if they even thought about voting for a Republican. Today, there’s no shortage of Democrats who oppose school choice, despite the fact that school choice measures have been beneficial to and, thus, widely supported by black and Hispanic parents in states such as Alabama, Louisiana, New Jersey, and Tennessee. Today, the line of pro-abortion Democrats could stretch from the earth to the moon and back, despite the fact that in some cases, more black babies are aborted in one year than are born alive. Those same pro-abortion Democrats shriek, endlessly, about how black lives matter, but are silent when hundreds of thousands of black lives are ended in the womb. Today, there are Democratic governors such as Gavin Newsom in California and Andrew Cuomo in New York who work tirelessly to disarm black gun owners in their respective states while simultaneously letting criminals free from prison in response to the Chinese coronavirus. As far as the Democratic Party has historically been concerned, black people are property or political props. Meanwhile, President Trump celebrated record low black unemployment in January on Martin Luther King, Jr. day. Trump has also allocated more money to historically black colleges and universities than any other president in U.S. history.

I've already said I'm done with dems. Progressives are the left, the true left. The rest are posers. I'll vote for progressives from here on out after I hold my nose and vote for a dem against Trump. Neither party is trustworthy and I want the establishment leaderships both gone. Trump is another thing all together, I want him gone for sure.

The money was a joke for small business people and people who really need it. When the millions of Americans spend their thousand bucks it adds up to Billions in stimulus. It is for STIMULUS! Not to cover your needs. Unemployment covers your needs. This isn't about us, its about U.S.

So you're arguing people aren't American because they might've used the 1200 to pay their rent?
Did you use your 1200 to pay your gardener?

Paying your rent is STIMULUS!
Landlord then hires workers to fix the place up or he spends the money.
I don't get a check.
Look at me trying to explain economics to the Left.
