Unemployment number still bad at 13%, but waaaaaaaay better than expected. Looking at the job gains, looks like the gig economy made a comeback. Still a ton of work to do though.
But much needed news after the horrible year we’ve been having so far.
“To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public.”
It would be easier to be positive if new covid cases curves in multiple states didn't look like the launch of a rocket. I'd love to see the suffering end for those that lost 40 million jobs and 2.5 million jobs is a good start. But don't get giddy, because we have only begun to see the ramifications of the job losses and covid issues. Just look at meat prices this week then factor in more scarcity and a slow economy...
However, the news is good. I expected more jobs lost TBH and from what he just said, so did Trump.

I went to my black bar the other day. The only person working/serving people was the bartender. All the servers (it's a Ruby Tuesday's) didn't bother to show up. So she literally had to serve every customer, AND the bar, AND do the uber eats/door dash stuff also. Luckily it wasn't that busy.
There's jobs if black people want them. They just don't show up.

Maybe you just weren't thinking when you posted this.....
Maybe I don't care about being politically correct. Let's all tiptoe around black people. Maybe I felt bad for the bartender who got dicked over by her coworkers.
I do have one other thing to say. Using political correctness as an excuse to make a racist comment is what many of us thought would eventually happen.
Thanks for walking back your original comment. I can see you understand just how wrong it sounded.
Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

There are plenty of people using political correctness right now to make black people happy.
I'm sure them getting killed in the streets are making them happy. There's a difference in being correct and claiming political correctness. I know when America starts waking up to reality that it can be scary for you. It will be okay.

The country was "expected" to lose 8 million jobs...it actually gained 2.5 million jobs. That's a swing 0f 10.5 million jobs.
No spinning that this is anything but good news.
10.5 million? Now this is some voodoo economics math right here! lmao
I hope a lot of the jobs come back but there are too many factors going on to trust this is a trend. Between rocketing COVID-19 cases across the country, state reopenings, and the distraction caused by protests, riots, and looting there is no way to know what is really going on with the economy.
And I might not like Trump but the one thing he might be best suited for is cheerleading the economy back when things are actually bleak. Telling people it's not really as bad as it is might spark enough recovery to actually make it not as bad as it actually is...
But I never saw -8, and you can't count numbers that were never real... just saying. So yep, no swing of 10.5 million anywhere but in your head bro. BUT 2.5 gain is better than anyone thought as long as the numbers are real and not manipulated. These jobs reports always tend to be more acurrate a month or two later after they are released then later adjusted.
Anyone who knows jack about how an economy works can explain that. There are tools that should be used when an economy tanks that will help it recover. Those tools are tax cuts and lowering interest rates.
Rather than save those tools for when our economy faltered, Trump wasted them on what was an already very strong economy. Thus a huge boost to an economy already doing well. Problem being when the economy does go south, and economies always run in cycles, he wasted those tools and they won't be there.
Save the bravado for the ignorant. Those people just follow others around liking their posts and lack the kahunas to speak up.

Are these new jobs or jobs that were lost during the run up to the pandemic that are coming back...
Dumb question. Not many new jobs being created right now bro. We are still trying to see what jobs are coming back and which are lost for good.
Seeing jobs return is a good thing. Don't try to boo hoo that by whining they aren't new jobs. Are you going to invest a good portion of your savings right now to create new jobs? Didn't think so.
If everybody had like minds, we would never learn.

I don't like that statement, 1. I don't think it's true. 2. it lumps all black people together; What, that ain't, that is just, come on.
3, plus, I don't know about there, but here, this city, there are still a bunch of restaurant, sit down type places that are not open, and who have been in a closed state for the most weeks of any business type; probably more likely a place like that just didn't decide to bring in server position workers than they all didn't show up, is a guess (And if the workers didn't show up, there must be an abundance of waiting to get back to work servers from other restaurants that aren't open.)
OK! YOU WERE THERE I WASN'T! Your statement may be true, but it's case specific I don't think the general statement holds up.
