In and Out Burger for sure ... It’s not any better than other joints IMO
I just can't accept this.
what do you like from there specifically? The burgers, fries, everything?
Waiting in line for average food?
In and Out is straight trash compared to 5-Guys (or most other burger joints, for that matter). Waited forever for the opportunity, finally hit one up in Hollywood. Got my food, took a bite, looked around for the Candid Camera crew. Was so excited to try the "legendary" Animal Style Fries... Fries covered in thousand island with American cheese? Really??
This is kinda how I felt. I was in LA a couple years back. My buddy, a Cali kid, was all amped up to go. We went. My overall impression was confusion as to what the hubbub was all about. It’s not bad but it’s certainly not special. Yes it’s better than McD’s or BK... but honestly only by a small margin really. As I said, for a fast food burger, Burgerville crushes it. There’s also a local non drive-through burger joint in Portland called Killer Burger. They have a few local storefronts. Puts In and Out to complete embarrassing shame. Not even close. Miles and miles apart.
5 guys is ok. I have a 5 guys closer to my house than an In and Out and we never eat there. It's good. Never get a craving for it.
Anyone familiar with Freddy's steak burgers? This is one of our new favorite spots. Not sure what parts of the country they are located in. I've put them at #2 right behind In and Out!
LOL - The Rish will be upset with this news as well. KS just doesn't prioritize winning...
A double double, what's that? Just a double cheeseburger. Animal Style? What, you added some onions? Just stop it. This is Starbucks ordering with burgers!
OMG, I never thought of this before, but it's so true. I gotta clean some coffee off my keyboard now.
There is no level of sucking we haven't seen; in fact, I'm pretty sure we hold the patents on a few levels of sucking NOBODY had seen until the past few years.
When I was still living in CA, I would go back and forth between InO and 5 guys. I actually liked InO's fries better, and I give a slight edge to 5 guys burgers because they didn't turn into a sloppy mess.
Honestly, I put both over many of the other boutique burger places simply because of $. Other places might have better burgers but they charge you an arm and a leg. InO and 5guys are 2 places I can go where I don't feel that I'm overpaying and I get a very tasty burger every time.

Yes, everything, but it is important how you order. I don't want Milk to make fun of me, but you do have to order your burger animal style. Double double, animal style, with chopped chilis. Fries are good, probably not the best, but you can also get them animal style (sauce, grilled onions, cheese).
In and Out is an institution!
<eyeroll emoji> !!
This adds fuel to the overrating of In-N-Out burgers. People like to tell you their wacky orders! A double double, what's that? Just a double cheeseburger. Animal Style? What, you added some onions? Just stop it. This is Starbucks ordering with burgers!
It's a place that I think people feel they have to say they like because it's "just the thing to do."
I'd wager people like placing their "secret" order more than they do the actual food.
In-N-Out could not hold a candle to Swenson's.
Begin the burger wars!
Whoa, easy there killer. You're east coast. This is west coast. You don't ride like we do!
And what is a Swenson's? Sounds like it has a C rating for the kitchen and you need 12 napkins to sop up the grease!
Let's go... rank your top 5 burgers.
I'm going ...
In and Out Freddy's Steak Burgers 5 Guys Red Robin (my kids love going here so it's a sentimental choice) ??

--Baker. LOL.......I really don't hate him, but I am chuckling because it will pizz people off.
There! He said it! Let's move this thread over to PF and get this party started!

Anybody in the mood for a funky, off the wall, gourmet burger... Check out FlipSide in Chagrin Falls (or another location). Best burger I've had in ages... ONE RED DOOR BURGER Crispy shallots / melted brie cheese/ date, applewood bacon aioli.

Honestly, I do like the value of In and Out as well. We have Shake Shacks out here. They're pretty good. My family of 4 can eat at In and Out for about $22. It costs us $45 - $50 at Shake Shack for a similar amount of food.

*Herb-Burger ... Herb's is a local bar and grill in Rocky River. I get it with pepperjack cheese and bacon, along with fried onions (not sautéed - fried). They also grill the roll on the flat-top, which is a must.
*Big Boy ... ever since I was a kid, I loved these. Maybe its the secret sauce. I'd tell you what's in it, but its a secret.
*Big Mac - sometimes you don't want a burger; sometimes you want a Big Mac.
Tomatoes. I can't eat them. I'm not allergic, but the combination of the taste and texture (smell doesn't help) make me want to hurl. Sauces with a tomato base are fine. Sun-dried are even okay, but I cannot do just plain tomatoes.
Cars. I agree with modern cars being worse, but if I never had to drive, I wouldn't. It wouldn't be bad if other people didn't have them/ actually knew how to drive them and paid attention to the road while they are driving. Throw in maintenance, insurance, and the artificial fluctuation of gas prices, planned obsolescence.... Potholes. I kind of miss the trains in Japan.
You mess with the "Bull," you get the horns. Fiercely Independent.
Was in Cleveland a few summers ago and went to B Spot in Strongsville. I was so excited. I left so disappointed.
It was ok.
My only experience has been the one in the club section at Browns stadium. As you're waiting in line you see the next 75 burgers, shingled on the charbroiler, dying... Very disappointing.
I’ve seen a few people mention TV shows ... and that’s a topic I forgot to include. A few shows come to mind that just don’t appeal to me at all. And they’re widely popular:
- Friends. I’m a Seinfeld and Cheers guy ... but just couldn’t get into Friends. It seems too silly or something for me. I can’t even get through an episode.
- Simpsons ... the later shows. I love the early stuff (maybe the first 10 years) but I can’t even attempt to get through an episode anymore. Sad because it was a great, new type of show ... but just past its prime now.
- Big Bang Theory ... Another one I just didnt relate to at all. I don’t find it funny ... I find it annoying haha
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."
Ketchup - Could be because I vomited all night after eating it as a kid.
U2 - Go away.
Big Bang Theory - When you're on a plane you'll watch anything they put on. I didn't last five minutes. Not funny.
Professional family photos - Particularly, while on vacation. It's exhausting.
Weddings - I'm great with not being invited.
We totally agree, U2 is garbage.
Big Bang is one of a long list of sitcoms I can’t stand. King of Queens is another. And I assure you not everyone loves Raymond. His show sucked. JMHO
Weddings are awful. Dreadful even. Boring as hell. A showy display of ‘look at me-ism’ and an expense of which I could never understand the appeal. If you don’t own a home/can’t afford a downpayment, having thousands of dollars spent for a one day event is ludicrous. Throwing a party for a bunch of family and friends, and going into debt to do so on day one of your marriage seems a weird way to start. But hey you get some towels and a toaster as gifts... a weird ritual. Call me a pragmatist. I openly eloped with my now ex. We let everyone in our families know what was up.... and that they weren’t invited. Then we ran off to Costa Rica and got married on a beach. We hired a local officiate to do the ceremony. Our witness was the officiate’s sister. She spoke no English. The wedding was one day of an 11 day vacation to the country. It cost us very little in the overall vacation budget. My girlfriend of nearly 10 years and I have spoken of the possibility of getting married sometime in the nearer-ish future. We both agreed we’re not dragging anyone into it. Courthouse, sign the paperwork, get it done.
In general I don’t like pomp and circumstance. Weddings, graduations, proms, even funerals. I’m not much for parties even. I’d prefer to have a couple of close friends over to hang out than to try to entertain a party’s worth of people. Even going to other people’s parties gets boring after a couple hours max. How long can I stand around someone’s yard or livingroom small talking? Even with friends? I don’t drink so that social lubricant is lost on me. Then once everyone else is tipsy it gets worse. Drunk people aren’t nearly as funny or clever or witty as they think they are. They are on the other hand louder, sloppier, and far more annoying than they could ever realize.
So to add to my list of things that I don’t like that others do... alcohol. It lost its appeal to me in my mid 20’s. So glad it did.
Onions. Pretty much it. Onions. Hate them. Raw, cooked, cooked in food - hate them.
Not sure I 'hate' tv, but I hardly ever watch it. Dish guy came out today to fix our dish that got blown off the roof last week. Then, he wanted to come into the house to check the tv. No problem. He asked me to turn it on. 4 months ago we got a new remote that I guess is voice activated after the dish and tv are on.
I looked at the remote, then had to ask him how to use it. Other than Browns games, I don't watch tv. (like, shows and what not. I watch netflix.......on occasion)
Almost all condiments, mayo, ketchup, mustard, pickles, onions ,salsa etc
McDonalds. Probably have to go back 5 years since I ate anything there and maybe 4 times in the past 15 years. . I don't get it. Love Wendy's, Burger King, Arby's etc.
Cars;
GM vehicles, never have liked them other than Pontiac style in certain years.
Movies;
Christmas vacation, also, any movies based a true story that are way off factually.
TV;
Most reality shows like AGT, The voice, Survivor etc
Music;
Country, most where I live love it.
Performers;
Will Ferrell other than Elf.
Foreign travel;
Not many countries I really care to visit, at least until I see a lot of US places I have yet to visit.

Five Guys also costs $30 for two people to eat. In N Out is around $12.
Did you use onions? No. I see onions. You can't taste them. Yes, I can. And I see them. Why did you use onions? For the flavor. You just told me I can't taste them. You can't.

Why use them? I CAN taste them anyway.
Reminds me of Ratt: Round and round.
I love flavoring my food with onion, but I can't stand the texture or taste of them.
I make a pretty good pepper steak. It requires onions, so I usually just cut the pieces to stay pretty big that way i can easily remove them.
I could not get into Entourage when it was on. I could barely get through the first season, but I thought the characters were pretty bland, and the whole thing just seemed forced.
Someone mentioned NYE.. Couldn't agree more. It's amateur night, you're already burned out from the holidays. I just want to relax in my own home, watch football, and maybe put on a movie. It just seems like overkill.
Being in Chicago, a lot of the mom and pop pizza places are overrated, and overpriced. Don't get me wrong, there are some fine places to get a pizza. Some of these places charge almost 30 bucks for a large pizza and I just have to laugh at that, because your pizza isn't that good lol.
Baseball. I have grown so far away from the sport the last few years. I obviously hope the Indians do well despite having issues with their management and ownership. I don't get into the playoffs. I don't really watch the world series. I just don't care anymore. And I thought this before the most recent news with mlb and how they are literally killing their sport by not being able to agree on a simple plan to have this shortened season. I haven't missed it one bit and wouldn't care if it never came back.
The Olympics... boring except for hockey and basketball

This where I'm currently at with the Sopranos. We just finished season 2, and I've yet to figure out what the hoopla is all about. So I'll add the Sopranos to my list.
(On a related note, Billions rocks.)

Agree. Couldn't even tell you the last time I stayed up until midnight.

What do you think of Pequads? Not sure on the spelling. We ate there on a trip through Chicago. Our one pizza cost like $50. It was good. Not $50 good but good. We wanted some authentic deep dish pizza.
