Actually, John never said that, though it’s widely quoted.

I don’t trust two kinds of people. Those who don’t like dogs, and those who don’t like the Beatles.

I have two schnauzers and 7 Beatles albums.

I don't know if that means you trust me but at least I've cleared the first hurdle.

I don’t hate the Beatles. I just put them in the same category as Led Zeppelin. Which is to say I don’t own any of either of their albums as I don’t feel the need to ever really listen to them again. Don’t get me wrong, I like them both. I’m just kinda over listening to them. Classic rock radio took all the desire out of me by overplaying them both.

And I also want to remind Jules that I did say I liked the Beatles as well. I too am hoping for the first hurdle cleared. I do not want to be in a Jules warpath. smile

Haha i love that quote

"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

Okay, I like Jules, dogs and the Beatles. But why does it seem everyone is seeking her approval? wink

One semi-recent band that a lot of my friends like (that I don’t like at all): Coldplay

Ah the beatles. The world first boy band. I don't care for their early stuff. Too poppy. I do like some of their later music. I would say Eleanor Rigby is my favorite song of theirs.

I don't trust anyone my dogs don't trust.

Mine is "Golden Slumbers / Carry That Weight / The End". I think it was their farewell.

For quite some time, it was "cool" to rag on the Beatles. But, I believe they are great for a multitude of reasons and I am not including them being a "Boy Band."

First and foremost, they were magical songwriters. Many of their lyrics are extremely poetic and almost all of them are melodic.

Songs like Come Together and Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da w/their nonsense lyrics were true poetry and examples of their creative songwriting genius.

I could get into more reasons why they were great, but that's enough for now.

Man, I was just youtubing Chris Cornell covers.

If he'd covered itsy bitsy spider it would sound like the best thing I've ever heard.

That guy was unbelievable. Just saw he covered Dolly's/Whitney's I will always love you. Of course, it sounded amazing.

He had the goods. Soundgarden put on a hell of a concert because Chris was as good live as in the studio. If not better.

Two things I think are cool about Zep. You could argue each member are top 5 all time at their respective positions...front man, guitar, drums, and bass. With John Bonham, he's probably number one. And although they were kind of already nearing the end, I like that the band broke up after Bonham died. No replacements, the parts were irreplaceable. "We cannot continue as we were."

And of course the music is legendary. No two songs sound remotely the same.

I don't know. John was a really good player. He laid down the rhythm for the band. He played triplets all the time...that isn't easy.

He just played them with a smile on his face.

Sorry I missed this one.

I think you’re backtracking here because you don’t really know what you’re talking about.

Either that, or you were/are unwilling to accept change, which is a sad sign of stubbornness.

So the fact that by the time they changed I was no longer listening to their music is a problem? That's like saying the fact I didn't go back to the restaurant where I contracted botulism once their food improved is "a me problem".

No, if their safety and food had been better to start with I would still be going there. There were plenty of better bands around to listen to.
