All of you have a reading deficiency. Stone was not pardoned. His sentence was commuted. He won't serve jail time in a federal pen while he awaits his appeal. He's still convicted.
I want to see if this case gets thrown out due to a heavily biased jury foreperson. I'm pretty sure there will be some state charges for Stone and others after all of this is done. Trump messed up not outright pardoning him because the felony convictions remain after commutation and he will be a felon going forward. Unless the conviction is overturned on appeal. Not going to happen unless they can stack the jury with pro Trumpers. Any prosecutor worth a damn will easily win that case.

You guys still believe schiff? The guy that lied to the American people for years about "mountains" of evidence he had on Trump? The best he could produce was a bunch of 'I have no knowledge of that' in secret interviews with democrats. As for the appeal, we'll see what happens.

Believe him? ABSOLUTELY! He did a great job of proving Trump was guilty as charged in the impeachment! Even the republicans that voted to keep Trump admitted that. Hell I wish he would run for POTUS, I'd vote for him just to make guys like you cry.

The impeachment was a party line vote. They never produced any evidence.

Btw, how is Trump commuting this sentence any different from governors releasing felons so they don't catch the wu-flu?

Party line vote yes, but only after several republicans stated that the house proved its' case and Trump was guilty, but with THE ELECTION so close they were not going to remove him and would let the people decide... That was not their job, there job was to judge him and if found guilty remove him. The party line vote was an atrocious miscarriage of justice IMHO.

Sorry, but Stone was not convicted of anything to do with the Russia collusion hoax. He was convicted of process crimes that came out of the investigation. My point is, if governors are releasing violent felons to keep them safe from wu-flu, why is it such a big deal to release a non-violent felon?

When you call a virus that is killing 130,000 Americans a silly name like wu-flu it kinda hurts your credibility. This is similar to trump calling everyone he dislikes childish names. We deserve a president that doesnt act childish on a daily basis. And that is a fact no one can deny. He calls people he dislikes derogatory made up nick names. Our president should be an example to every one and lead with dignity and respect. WE DESERVE THAT! Would you teach your children to behave like trump?

So what's your view on how and where the virus originated from? China and the WHO knowing about it months in advance? China giving wishy washy answers?
How are you going to hold them (China) accountable? They can't be trusted on anything. That's where you should be directing your anger.
In addition, I hope you're not expecting Biden to lead with dignity or respect. His 75 year track record in government shows otherwise.

Countless other country’s leaders took the virus seriously and lead their countries to safety (relative to the times). trump’s complete lack of leadership has lead us to where we are. Period. This is no longer on China. This is #trumpvirus.

Italy, in particular should be out for blood when it comes time to review how this whole thing played out. But other countries somehow magically recovered from a bad start and have been able to get this thing under control. We have not. We've failed despite a lack of resources, technology, experts/scientific knowledge, and int'l leverage.

I said i got my info from my wife, who worked as a virologist for the federal government, and you questioned her credibility. I have no credibility with half the members on this board because I'm not part of the liberal hive mind groupthink. Seems I was right, even though it wasn't this current virus. There is no way that woman should have served on the jury, much less as the foreman. So let me see if I get this straight. You're saying "Only trump lovers and his supporters should have been on any jury that was involved in association to Trump"? Where were you when all the republicans were investigating Hillary. Who by the way failed.

You mean the process and possible penalty is different. The fact that you seemed to have no objection to partisanship in one example but do in the other example is exactly the same.
You see, in every jury of 12 people you are going to have people with strong political beliefs within that jury. What you are proposing is that because one member of a jury has strong political leanings against Trump, the other 11 people who voted guilty couldn't do their job. Had the jury foreman have been a staunch Trump supporter would you be holding the same objection? Because you sure didn't seem to object when Republicans were investigating hillary.
That doesn't hold water.

We just recently had a president that constantly lied to the American people, cut deals with nations we consider enemies, oversaw illegal investigations, stirred up a lot of racial hatred, but did it all with what you'd consider dignity, even though it wasn't. He'd belittle police officers, opposing politicians, and tried to put a racial spin on everything. I like the one we have now better.

That doesn't hold water. The juror selection process IS supposed to keep that from happening. Having a person who can't separate their political opinions from the trial in front of them is an issue. If that process fails, however (like it might've here), that's on the lawyer. They should've (and were) on the lookout for this.

Here is the funny thing about that. While the political leanings and beliefs of the juror have been shown, nothing has been presented that it had any impact on her decisions as a juror.
Thus far all they seem to have presented is, "Well she hates Trump, so".

That doesn't hold water. So, by your own reasoning, the heavily partisan dems that tried to impeach Trump on nothing more than a party line vote after they did all the investigation was right, because the partisan Republicans were wrong. You make no sense. Investigations are done by people trying to prove their point. Juries are supposed to be impartial. The jury foreman in Stone's trial was anything but impartial, which is part of the appeal.

Yet some of those Republicans who refused to vote to remove him admitted he was guilty. You still don't grasp that do you?
Jurors are supposed to do their duty as jurors in an impartial way. You have shown nothing that indicates that didn't happen. And it still doesn't account for the 11 others jurors who agreed that he was guilty.
You have submitted the very definition of grasping at straws.

Kinda like those politicians that tell the press one thing and vote another, right obummercare opponents? Did they say that before they saw schiffs evidence "I have no knowledge of that"? How a jury votes is everything, right? Isn't the Senate the jury for impeachment trials? You're trying to have things both ways.

I'm talking about what some Republican senators said after they voted not to remove Trump from office. They said they would let the elections decide it even thought they felt the case had been proven. Do you actually keep up with what's going on or do you only read conspiracy web sites?

Romney seems to be the only Republican with any balls to stand up to trump’s BS on Capitol Hill. The rest are spineless...all of them.

Look into what Romney and Susan Collins said. I would post sources for you but since all you have done is claim that someone can't due their duty as a juror because they don't like Trump with zero evidence to back that up, I don't feel I owe you that courtesy.

I wanna say it was Rubio or Ted Cruz, but I could be wrong. https://www.latimes.com/opinion/story/20...ernst-joe-bidenIt was Rubio and a TN guy Lamar (sorry for the opinion piece, but if you skip about a page of drawn-out hand-wringing, you'll find the quote(s)). They said Trump was guilty, but they voted not-guilty to prevent him from being removed from office. Truly 'other dimension' type logic.

That's how people with common sense get treated in the Republican party these days. You're saying Romney has common sense? He has common sense enough to tell left media what they want to hear. He has common sense enough to try to be their next John mccain. If he tries to run for president in 2024, he'll find out again what sucking up to the left media gets him. He doesn't have enough spots on his back for any more knives from the left, but they love him now. It's a shame that level of common sense is what we used to call stupid.
