I said i got my info from my wife, who worked as a virologist for the federal government, and you questioned her credibility. I
Curious, what does your wife have to say about this coronavirus and the way Trump has handled things?
Is buttcheeks one word? Or should I spread them apart?

Curious, what does your wife have to say about this coronavirus and the way Trump has handled things? She really wishes she had access to genomic data on this virus. She thinks this has been manipulated due to the long incubation period. If she had her way, there'd be handwashing stations everywhere, but that's on a normal day too. Her lock down would have been almost solitary confinement for everyone. You would be changing out masks and gloves everytime you changed rooms, buildings, etc. She also worked contact isolation with MERSA patients, so she believes in extreme santiation. She's hated the who since she was in government, and said they were useless and corrupt years ago. She's happy we're out of the who. She would have closed all borders and shut down travel after she read the first reports of wuhan virus back in December. She thinks Trump has done a decent job, considering realities of this world.

I agree with most of what she says.
From what I can find, most people who have looked at the genomic data are convinced that it naturally mutated from an animal, most likely a bat. I don't have any expertise in that area. But i have read that if it was manipulated in a lab that there would be telltale signs.
I do find it concerning that China has a virology lab in Wuhan that studies other coronaviruses. But I have not seen any evidence to suggest this coronavirus escaped from there other than it would make a great story. If it did, of course they would try to cover it up. So lack of evidence could mean there is none or could mean we just haven't found it.
I disagree that Trump has done a decent job. When we shut down travel from China, I said we need to shut it down from everywhere too just like your wife said. Had we done that we would be in a different situation.
Did Trump make some mistakes early on? Yes but I don't hold that against him. He had to make the best decision possible with the available information which was limited.
What I do hold against him is his complete inability to admit that he made any mistakes. So instead of correcting them, he doubled down on them. His failure to provide a united message has left people with the need to make there own decisions while being given a conflicting message. Had he been on board with even half let alone 2/3rds or what your wife suggested we would be in a much better situation. I think he left too much to the individual governors and then pressured the republican governors to open back up too soon.
Even now he is still saying we have this virus under control when it is clearly running amuck in Texas, Florida, Arizona, California and depending on ones definition of amuck, South Carolina
Is buttcheeks one word? Or should I spread them apart?

I disagree with what you said about what Trump did. This should have been under control of each states governors. A one size fits all approach never works, and locals can determine their situation much quicker than the federal gov.
People complain about Trump making mistakes. How would he know what's best to do when dealing with a new virus? Even fauchi was saying "it's OK to take a cruise" and, "it's OK to go to china" as late as March. Would an apology really make you feel that much better? The media wants one so they can say Trump admitted he was wrong, so they have cannon fodder for the election.

And if it did exist, it would obviously be the end all and game over perfect book for any and every virus ever to strike this country, because the left's lord/god/savior had his name put on it.

He could have been encouraging people to wear a mask for months. That would have save thousands of lives. One simple thing and he wouldnt do it. trump has killed american citizens due to his lack of leadership. That is a fact

While I agree that sending more power and decision-making to local levels is a good thing, at some point a leader has to see that things are not being done correctly, and step in to make a correction. This is one of the few areas that his previous non-govt experience should've helped him.
His ego is also way out of control, again limiting his ability to lead. As you said, I won't blame him for decisions that had to be made based on limited/inaccurate data. I will blame him for not correcting once better data came through. It should be easy enough to say, "we made the best decision with the info we had, but new info showed that to be wrong and now we're going to do things better". He has failed to do that.

There is no 'if' about it. 69 pages of well-researched advice. And to help 45* understand the data, the book came with an entire Pandemic Response Team, which the dumbass promptly dismantled because science is for nerds and sissies. If you persist in trying to defend this fool on this subject, you will take heaps of ridicule and derision, all richly deserved. It's all up to you.

No. I don't work for the president. I've read countless interviews of members of the transition team who attest that those whom they were trying to brief basically cracked jokes ignored them and took none of it seriously. Some of thos interviewees were members of the national security team, which was over the pandemic response group. Those tabletop exercises are the main way important information is relayed from the old admin to the new. It's a waste if the incoming people don't take it seriously. Not only was the manual tossed into the trash, the very team we need now was disbanded shortly after 45 took office. No team in place. No manual for dealing with the pandemic. No leadership. No hope.

So for all you know, the entire manual was crap. Maybe it called for ways to declare martial law and put people in internment camps. Just like every president, he did his own thing based on the info at hand. To remind everyone of an old saying, "battle plans are perfect until the first bullet is fired".

Yeah, he did his own thing.
Which was tell people it was all going to magically disappear when summer came.
It was just to unmanly for him to wear a mask.
He denied science and decided that snake oil cures would work. Like disinfectant injections would cure in minutes.
He brags about what a great job he is doing while 135k Americans have died.
He has allowed after months of dealing with this that stock piles of PPE are dreadfully inadequate.
He has held rally's in virus hot spots and had campaign workers remove social distance seating arrangements by removing "do not occupy" stickers. He has encouraged people to follow him by not wearing a mask.
He does not even meet with his appointed virus task force for months while thousands die.
He appoints VP Pence to head the task force. Pence the VP who says "we have flattened the curve." A man who was hired to flatter trump.
He hired Betsy DeVos as Sec. of Education. A person completely unqualified. Not an educator. No medical background. another trump mouth organ. Wants to open schools with no plan. The only consideration being trump's political agenda and his warped perception that school closing makes Him look bad.
trump has denied the virus since it began. Has continuously stated that he has saved lives while thousands have died from his lack of leadership.
His own thing.

Wait a second. You're going to tell me that you really needed the government to tell you to wear a mask? The government had to tell you to wash your hands? You needed an example to follow, or you couldn't figure it out for yourself? No wonder the country's in trouble.

Brilliant response. Only trump supporters need to be told what to do.
That is what you got out of my post?
Ignore all the other facts and then imply that I need guidance about wearing a mask. Really?
Tell that to those who attended the trump rally in Phoenix.
You know where they removed the seat charts.
If you can't rely on your memory go to the trump tape starting from when the virus landed here. Track his quotes along with the timeline.
Not hard to do. Write your response along the way.
Maybe measure the EU (European Union) results against the US. Seeing that the population and timelines where about the same.
Oh wait. I need to take a commercial break with Pence: ""We slowed the spread, we flattened the curve, we saved lives." Really??
mmmm I don't think the data supports that.
try again erik you are on a roll. Batting average .000

People should be responsible for their actions. It's your responsibility to make sure you provide a shelter, food, and comfort for you and your family. It's your responsibility to provide security and protection for you and your family. It's your responsibility to ensure your continuing education and the educations of your family. We should all be good shepards of our lands and use resources wisely. We should treat others the same as we wish to be treated. If we rely I n the government to provide for us, we will only get what the government provides, and government reliance eventually leads to slavery.

I was referring to Daman inferring that Erik is a traitor and that stupid-ass rant of Perfect's.
I pretty much leave Erik alone. He doesn't attack me--and others--like the guys in your group do. I don't think we should hate on people just because they have different political beliefs. It's a free country and people should be able to vote for who they want w/out fear of ridicule and violence.

My bad then, I thought that was a shot for me telling him to look in the mirror because I was quoted first. But seriously, I just don't see a way Erik and I will ever agree on anything politically. EVER.
I do agree with him on responsibilities, but it's hard to believe him on that in one breath when he supports Trump in the next breath which IMHO is the most irresponsible thing he could do politically. Trump is a failure by every measure.

I would never dare ask you to agree w/him. I strongly believe that we all have the right to choose our political preferences, parties, ideologies, policies, etc. I think different opinions are a great thing because it keeps us all thinking. I could never live in a dictatorship.
OCD, when I talk about "coming together," I am not saying we should all agree on things. I am talking about being tolerant and respecting that we each have a right to choose what we believe in. I don't like intimidation, ridicule, hate for something/someone who is different.
We can disagree on our politics while still respecting each other as men. That all falls apart when folks resort to attacking others or through acts of violence. Those things will always exist, I just think that intelligent, logical, fair folks want to try and limit that type of divisive behavior.
For example, I don't like Bernie. I know you do. I would never tell you to not like him. We might jab one another in a friendly manner, but your decision is yours alone and I would never try and change your mind. So again, when I say "come together," I am NOT talking about us agreeing on political and/or social ideologies. I'm talking about working and living together despite our differences and do so peacefully and respectfully.

Protect the people: when he cut off travel from china, people called him racist. The same with illegal flooding into our country. He does act like a leader. You don't like his style. The last several leaders we had acted like marshmallows, allowing themselves to be squished into whatever form foreign leaders wanted them. Most of them seem to have signed deals, so they could tell us they signed dwals. Let's not forget the economy and employment successes before the shutdown. Protect the people: seems to me you miss a lot of that, in relation to rebuilding our military and border security. If you're talking about the virus, I guess our greatest minds could have built a miniaturized machine so he could fly about and shoot virus droplets out of the air, or maybe just assemble a team of experts that said it was still OK to travel to china. Protect yourself.

We don't call conservatives names. We disagree with some of their political beliefs, but that's it.
Trump isn't a conservative. And those who make excuses for the most part aren't actual conservatives. They're Trumpians.
