Good God? Nonsense? Open your eyes man. Look at every other democracy on the globe and where they are at right now. Then look at us. Sometimes you act like there's something wrong with reporting the actual facts of what is happening in this country.

Every word I said was true. Guidelines were set. The same guidelines the rest of the planet with a few exceptions followed. Now look at how the situation is working out there and look at how it's playing out here since we ignored those guidelines.

While the CDC set the guidelines of having 14 straight days of a decline in cases before beginning to open, Trump pushed for it to happen immediately. That those guidelines be ignored. Reporting facts isn't wrong.

It was a lack of leadership at the top that got us here. It's not hard to see.

So far Covid 19 has killed over 149,000 in six months alone.

Somehow you think the only way to kill a person is to fire a weapon at them. This virus seems to be more effective weapon than a gun.

And if you think the decisions made, or that weren't made didn't aim that weapon at America, you obviously weren't paying attention. Decisions and or the lack of decisions have consequences. The consequences of which have been death.

No different than when you point a gun at another person and make the decision to pull the trigger.

And here's the thing. At the very beginning when this virus first attacked, very few people knew much if anything about it. The experts and Trump were bound to make some mistakes. That's expected.

What's not expected from a president or leader is to make decisions and push for things that you know will kill people. That's what happened here.

So much so that two thirds of Americans agree that he has done a terrible job handling the virus. It's almost impossible to get two thirds of Americans to agree on anything. You're the outlier here.

I had a part in starting this nonsense. I got sick of reading that "Trump literally has killed" blank amount of people. He has "literally" killed no one.

I brought up gangs. Perfect jumps in and makes it about me and then says that I make it all about me. LOL

Two other posters jump in and bring up the death count by guns.

All I know is that Trump has "literally" killed no one and that gangs have killed thousands and thousands of people. Yet, no one wants to talk about them.

It's sad that these guys are indirectly supporting gang violence by ignoring what they do to lower income neighborhoods and instead make up BS "facts" about those who follow the law.

Covid has killed more people in six months than gun deaths have in over four years combined. Yet people somehow feel this is a thread that needs to be derailed.

Twitter removes tweet highlighted by Trump falsely claiming COVID-19 'cure'

WASHINGTON — Twitter removed a tweet that had been retweeted by President Donald Trump that falsely said that there was a cure for the coronavirus.

Late Monday night, Trump retweeted the tweet from an account with the handle “@stella_immanuel” that said: "Covid has cure. America wake up."

A cure for COVID-19, the disease caused by the coronavirus, doesn't exist and scientists have been working on developing both a range of treatments as well as vaccines. They and the Trump administration are racing to have a vaccine ready by the end of the year.

Twitter said early Tuesday morning, "Tweets with the video are in violation of our COVID-19 misinformation policy."

Trump also retweeted tweets defending the use of the drug hydroxychloroquine, including one that accused Dr. Anthony Fauci, a member of the White House coronavirus task force, of misleading the public by dismissing the drug.

"I have not been misleading the public under any circumstances," Fauci responded on ABC's "Good Morning America" on Tuesday morning when asked for his reaction to Trump's retweets.

Fauci reiterated that the "overwhelming prevailing clinical trials" that have looked at the efficacy of hydroxychloroquine have indicated that it's "not effective" in treating the coronavirus.

Meanwhile, the president's eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., was temporarily locked out of his Twitter account on Tuesday after posting the same controversial video shared by Trump promoting hydroxychloroquine and saying people don’t need to wear masks, said Andy Surabian, an adviser to the president's son. In a text message, Surabian said the president's son should be able to resume tweeting later in the day.

“Twitter suspending Don Jr. for sharing a viral video of medical professionals discussing their views on Hydroxychloroquine is further proof that Big Tech is intent on killing free expression online and is another instance of them committing election interference to stifle Republican voices," Surabian said in a statement. "It is beyond the pale for Twitter to silence someone for sharing the views of medical professionals who happen to dissent with their anti-Hydroxychloroquine narrative.”

This comes as the president had recently tried to take a more moderate approach to the COVID-19 pandemic.

He conceded, for example, last week at one of his restarted coronavirus White House briefings that it will likely "get worse before it gets better." The president has also been touting the importance of wearing masks after dismissing them for months. Despite his change in tone, he pushed states to reopen on Monday as a number of experts are calling for states to shut down.

Twitter has been much more aggressive in recent months in either removing tweets posted by the president, fact-checking them in real time or even placing warning labels over them.

The social media giant first fact-checked a pair of tweets posted by Trump in May when he claimed there was "NO WAY" an election with boosted mail-in voting would be legitimate. Twitter added a fact-check label to both tweets.

A few days later, Trump signed an executive order that asked federal regulators to revisit a 1996 law that protects websites from liability for what their users post.

And then a day after he signed the executive order, Twitter put a tweet from Trump behind a warning label, which said that the president had violated its rules against glorifying violence when he tweeted about protests over the death of George Floyd.

In June, Twitter and Facebook removed a video posted to Trump’s social media accounts of a "racist baby" because of a copyright claim from one of the children’s parents. Twitter labeled the video "manipulated media."

That's a good point - but I think with Trump it really depends on the subject matter and it varies. Whether it's pulling soldiers out of Northern Syria, calling CV-19 a hoax or flirting with the Alt right by tweeting material that resonates with them and then pulling it .... I think each case is different. Generally I think he's aware of what he's doing and doesn't care, but there are some other stuff that's a case of opening mouth before engaging brain.

He certainly cares. Dividing Americans against each other is what helped bring him to power. He uses it as a weapon. I don't believe for a second that every word of it isn't calculated.

Stella is a doctor who is licensed to practice medicine. She's an outspoken, black (Nigerian born) woman who doesn't stick to the narrative. I fully understand why the left would mock her and want to shut her down.

If anybody has proof that her claim is false.... that she has treated hundreds of covid patients, with a 100% success rate, using this method, post it. Calling it a "cure" might be a bit of a stretch but if her personal experience is really 100% success.. then she has every right to make that known and Twitter is wrong for blocking it just because she isn't sticking to their preferred talking points. I've seen more than my share of individual doctors and nurses testimonies, based only on their personal experience, that were not removed... because they stuck to the narrative.

I have two friends who had parents test positive, both over 80 years old, both treated with the exact regimen she describes, both alive and well today. Does that qualify as proof of anything? Hardly... but it happened.. and aren't you the one who recently posted something about, "Why do people get so upset when the media reports on things that actually happened?"

What Twitter and FB and other platforms allow and don't allow on their web sites and how it is presented is a long and deep discussion. I am not entirely sure this is the post to hang that debate on.

She has some odd beliefs, especially in religion, probably brought from Nigeria... none of which makes her claims about hydroxychloroquine any more or less valid.

Sometimes credibility is an easy thing to fact check.

The two things that help stop the spread of the virus most are social distancing and masks.

Trump waited until over 145,000 Americans died from the virus to recommend wearing masks and was pretty quiet calling for social distancing until the virus had killed a lot of Americans.

Calling it a "Democratic hoax" is not intervening. The next three months will not erase history. Posting fake news about the virus on Twitter yesterday will not just go away.
