I think a possible answer to that question could be related to when those snaps happened. If they happened earlier in his career and then Pitt moved him over to tackle, that MIGHT say something.

I'm not claiming anything. I'm questioning the idea some are making that claim (to use your word) he is a better guard than tackle. I don't get how such a definitive claim be made with such a small sample size comparing both positions. 7 combined guard snaps vs 939 combined tackle snaps.

Referencing Hubbard as good depth at RG, where he has played zero snaps in his career apparently, seems off to me.

Now, we might be forced to play him there due to the opt out situation. But going off the quotes Callahan made, it didn't seem like he was ever in the plans originally.

So well they decided to kick him outside tongue

The only thing I recollect reading is that he "played well" at RG in the pre-season. That's it from his interior line play - as I recollect at least.

Damn... I thought the numbers would be flipped. Didn't realize they weren't.

... maybe THAT'S why they didn't mention him at guard. Ha!

This is what PFF showed:

2013 - he was on the practice squad
2014 - he played 7 snaps at LG
2015 - 1 snap at RT, 7 snaps at LT
2016 - 2 snaps at OC, 204 at RT
2017 - 29 snaps at OC, 28 at LT, 700 at RT

Now he also lined up at TE and played on Special teams but those snaps I didn't count. Like others I thought his OG snaps would have been a lot more.

I could have sworn that he played more at Guard in Pittsburgh.

He's certainly built more like a Guard than like a Tackle.

Thought so too. I went to OURLADS' and looked at some old Pittsburgh depth charts and in '14 and '15 he was listed as a backup on the inside, 2016 he started the season out as a backup on the inside but by the end of the season he was listed as the backup OT, and in '17 and '18 he was only listed as the backup OT. Don't know if Pitt. thought he was a better OT then OG/OC or if he was just their best option to be the backup OT.

Not sure where you guys are getting your information, but it is highly unlikely they "just shut it down." While things are bad, it would take a huge escalation to shut it down.

This isn't about a "game." It's about money. And lots of it. I heard something the other day about how the local economy in Tuscaloosa would lose over $2 million if the Tide doesn't play this season. This isn't just about money for the owners and players. It's also about the local economies and much more.

Absolutely 100% correct. It’s about money. Ignoring human suffering and loss. It’s about the money. Goooo team!

A Prayer Answered in Michican't! Thought that little remark was, well, pretty remarkable. First year in awhile they haven't lost to me Buckeyes.

I think the reason he played so much tackle was due to injuries and no depth.
