Been listening to Zegura since he's been hosting that show CBD. Everybody looks like a All-Pro to him. Him and his candy store adjectives describing and over hyping 6th RD picks. He was all gushy and fluffy over Dorsey and Kitchens last year. How did that turn out Nate?

My conspiracy theory is that they Garrett isn’t hurt, they just didn’t want him roasting Wills from the jump.

He loves the sound of his voice and how he pronounces words describing this player that LB. Bishop I can deal with he's not quite the homer. Zegura is better suited to do WWE shows If you didn't know any better you could swear the Browns made the playoffs last year going off his hype

People seem to lose site of the fact that these these guys are both paid corporate spokesmen. The way they present things is a part of their job description. They're paid not to be objective.

My conspiracy theory is that they Garrett isn’t hurt, they just didn’t want him roasting Wills from the jump. I think it's more likely they want to be as conservative as possible with him in camp. MG has refined a lot of his moves in the last couple of years / is in great shape, no reason to wear him down before the season and risk injury.

Offense has looked better today, but haven't been able to watch as much.
Baker to OBJ TD. Saw about 5 pass plays from Baker, all completions.

Seibert has apparently dyed his hair blonde.
He should be cut for that reason alone.
Maybe that's why they brought in the other kickers. Bet it annoys Stefanski like it annoys me.

Me too. At his size and the way he played defense I found him to be an amazing player. His story is compelling too. I don't think I could have hung with him in his younger days abut now to hear him reflect on his life would make for a very interesting day.

Just clicking.
Baker has thrown maybe one incompletion today.
I have seen 5 TD's so far for Baker. Maybe 3 to OBJ including one 50 yard bomb in double coverage.

Yeah, that bomb to OBJ was not a good idea. But OBJ is OBJ.
Kind of annoyed by something. OBJ doesn't "get in" the huddle. He loiters around the outside while everyone is bending in to the huddle. On one play, I saw Jarvis try to pull him into the huddle.

I will say OBJ and Baker appear to be getting a lot of work in.
Also, practice was much faster paced today with a lot more of 11-on-11.
Need as much 11-on-11 as possible.

That's why I think it's ill advised to make a big deal out of a single day in camp. From what I was reading he looked pretty bad yesterday. This early on I don't feel you can look at a single day to arrive at any conclusion. It's the body of work that matters.
Glad to hear he looked much better today.

Especially since they haven't gotten any work at all the entire summer until camp began. In a normal year, workouts in the gym and stuff begin in April, minicamps become an almost weekly thing in May and June and they don't take extended time off again until July when they get their last break before training camp. This year, they obviously had none of that and are just getting started - and in new systems on both sides of the ball.
Struggles and hiccups are to be expected, and not just right now, but for probably the next 8-10 weeks. Yes, well into the season.
Side Note: watching the live feed, I noticed that the cameraman waaaaay off in the back, up on scaffolding nearly 15 feet above everyone, by himself with nobody within 50 yards of him... was still being forced to wear a mask. Meanwhile the people closer to players either weren't wearing them or had them off the nose or outright under the chin while shouting.
I'm all for being safe and taking reasonable precautions, but that all seems a little Dog-&-Pony, to me.
Browns is the Browns

Training Camp Log: Day 6 https://www.brownszone.com/2020/08/20/training-camp-log-day-6-3/LONG WAY TO GO: Jedrick Wills’ transition to left tackle remains bumpy. After he played right tackle in high school and at the University of Alabama, the Browns drafted him No. 10 in April confident he could make the switch to the left side. Wills is extremely athletic but has struggled through the first week of camp. In one-on-one pass-rush drills the last two days, he was unable to consistently stop Olivier Vernon and Robert McCray. The Browns have three weeks to get him ready and comfortable to face the Ravens on Sept. 13. NEWS OF THE DAY: Nickelback Kevin Johnson remained at University Hospitals after suffering a laceration of the liver Wednesday in practice. Defensive end Myles Garrett practiced after missing the first five days of training camp but was limited to individual drills. CAMPER OF THE DAY: M.J. Stewart Jr. might be a name to remember. He was claimed off waivers earlier this month from Tampa Bay and lined up as the first-team nickelback after Johnson’s injury. Stewart made an instant impact, sacking Baker Mayfield and stopping running back Kareem Hunt for a loss. PLAY OF THE DAY: The pass wasn’t perfect, wobbling as it made the long journey. The catch was magnificent. Odell Beckham Jr. outjumped cornerback Donovan Olumba and safety Sheldrick Redwine and came down with the ball at the 1-yard line. Beckham sat out much of practice Wednesday and looked refreshed Thursday. QUOTE OF THE DAY: “He is the eyes for the running backs.” — Run game coordinator/running backs coach Stump Mitchell on the fullback.

Anyone else sort of like the sound of Goodson being feisty and a trash talker? I prefer a guyy like that who gets under the skin of the opposition to the fake bravado we see after 1 "big" play when we are losing by 3 TDs.
Clearly Gustin is destined to be this year's camp darling.

Was Thursday the calm before the storm with the first game fast approaching? Browns training camp observations https://www.cleveland.com/browns/2020/08...servations.htmlBy Dan Labbe, cleveland.com BEREA, Ohio -- There was a punt-catching competition at practice on Thursday, just in case you were wondering if we were bearing down on an off-day. Defensive end Porter Gustin and offensive tackle Alex Taylor did an admirable job catching the ball off the JUGS machine before the Browns really dug in and got to work on their first day in no pads since last weekend. The Browns are ramping up and they’ll take the field again this weekend and, soon enough, camp will start to turn. The depth chart will take shape and it’s going to get more competitive. It has to. The Browns play a game three weeks from Sunday and, without a preseason to get up to speed, the pressure will mount to simulate as much game action as possible on the practice fields. “What we will do is get through our install, if you will, on the offense and the defensive side,” head coach Kevin Stefanski said on Wednesday. “Then as coaches, we will huddle up and start to streamline our schemes as we work into the Week 1 of Baltimore. There is a rhythm to making sure that we are still building the foundation, making sure that everybody is sound in what they understand and what they are doing, and then we will pivot towards what we think makes sense from a personnel standpoint and from what the guys are really showing that they have a firm grasp of.” It’s fair to assume we will begin to see more “move the ball” periods, two-minute work and the type of game scenarios you see in a normal training camp when teams are able to hit the ground running. Thursday, with a day off Friday, was likely the calm before the storm. Here are some more observations from practice: * The offense was still rough, but there were two highlights, both involving Odell Beckham Jr. One was a touchdown during an early red zone period and another came on a heave from Baker Mayfield. Beckham outjumped Sheldrick Redwine and Donovan Olumba for the football. * A few plays after the Beckham touchdown in red zone, Denzel Ward picked off Case Keenum and returned it for a score. * With Kevin Johnson in the hospital with a lacerated liver, some other players are stepping in. One guy getting a chance is M.J. Stewart. He had a sack and one of the few run stops on Kareem Hunt this camp on the first team period of the day. * The Browns hosted four kickers for tryouts on Wednesday and Stefanski called it “due diligence” on Thursday. It makes sense. If Austin Seibert were to come up positive right before a game, it’s probably good to have some names in the Rolodex. (Do people still use those?) Seibert kicked on Thursday and the media viewing angle didn’t really help with makes and misses, but General Manager Andrew Berry was standing directly behind the entire time. * Case Keenum handled the holding duties with punter Jamie Gillan still out with an illness. * Porter Gustin is a riser in the first week of camp and he was spotted working with veteran Adrian Clayborn after practice. Gustin has been taking first-team reps with Myles Garrett out.

Bad body language. Hope it's nothing. But that is one tempermental, sensitive guy. Might have something to do with COVID and social distancing. Huddling during a pandemic seems somewhat questionable. With some of OBJ's comments when the season happening was in question, it wouldn't surprise me if he's just being cautious.

I take Zegura as the eternal optimist. Are you guys saying he is playing a character and he isn't just an overly optimistic fan? I agree that he is all hype but I took that more because he is a real fan and homer than anything else.
I have always imagined eotab like Zegura in real life for some reason. Nate is a real fan. So is his wife. It's not an act.
I AM ALWAYS RIGHT... except when I am wrong.

Browns depth chart 2020: What it looks like after the first week of training camp https://www.cleveland.com/browns/2020/08...ining-camp.htmlBy Scott Patsko, cleveland.com CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Browns were originally scheduled to play their second preseason game on Saturday, on the road against the Packers. That means, had this NFL calendar gone according to plan, we would’ve seen a couple unofficial Browns depth charts by now. They’re deemed unofficial because they’re only released for the media’s sake, and coaches don’t have anything to do with them. Instead, they’re constructed by someone in media relations. But that doesn’t stop fans from devouring them. So, because we don’t want Browns fans to go hungry, and because no preseason games means no depth charts from the Browns, I’ve tried to put together a depth chart based off what we’ve seen at training camp practices open to media. It’s not perfect. It’s definitely as unofficial as you can get. And safety precautions have us half a mile away from the action most days. But this should give you some idea of where players stand with about three weeks to go before Week 1. (+) = injured QUARTERBACK 1. Baker Mayfield 2. Case Keenum 3. Garrett Gilbert 4. Kevin Davidson Worth mentioning: No surprises here. RUNNING BACK 1. Kareem Hunt 2. Dontrell Hilliard, D’Ernest Johnson 3. Benny LeMay Nick Chubb (+) Worth mentioning: Chubb’s obviously the starter when he returns, but for now he is listed as injured. It’s difficult to tell if Hilliard or Johnson has an edge at this point, but both have gotten second-team reps. FULLBACK 1. Andy Janovich 2. Johnny Stanton Worth mentioning: About as definite an order as QB. WIDE RECEIVER 1. Odell Beckham Jr. 1. Jarvis Landry 1. JoJo Natson 2. Rashard Higgins 2. KhaDarel Hodge 2. Taywan Taylor 3. Donovan Peoples-Jones 3. D.J. Montgomery 3. Ja’Marcus Bradley 3. J’Mon Moore Damion Ratley (+) Worth mentioning: We’ve seen a lot of three-receiver looks in camp, something Kevin Stefanski almost never did last season as Vikings offensive coordinator. Natson seems to be getting every chance to claim that third receiver spot. This order is fluid, though. The top seven names listed above have gotten at least a few first-team reps. TIGHT END 1(a). Austin Hooper 1(b). David Njoku 2. Harrison Bryant 3. Pharaoh Brown 3. Stephen Carlson Worth mentioning: Bryant is close to being 1(c) on this list. OFFENSIVE LINE LT 1. Jedrick Wills Jr. 2. Chris Hubbard 3. Alex Taylor LG 1. Joel Bitonio 2. Michael Dunn C 1. Nick Harris 2. Evan Brown 3. Casey Dunn JC Tretter (+) RG 1. Wyatt Teller 2. Willie Wright 3. Evan Brown RT 1. Jack Conklin 2. Kendall Lamm Worth mentioning: Hubbard was getting second-team reps at left tackle, but replaced Conklin (rest day) as first-team right tackle on Thursday. It’s unclear if Harris will move to a backup guard role when Tretter returns. DEFENSIVE END RIGHT EDGE 1. Myles Garrett 1. Olivier Vernon 2. Porter Gustin 2. Adrian Clayborn/Robert McCray/Chad Thomas Worth mentioning: The rise of Porter Gustin was one of the stories of the week. Thomas was the first to replace Garrett while he was out, but Gustin claimed the spot in recent days. Other backup spots seem to be up for grabs, with multiple players getting their shot on the second team. DEFENSIVE TACKLE 1. Sheldon Richardson 1. Jordan Elliott 2. Daniel Ekuale 2. Eli Ankou Larry Ogunjobi (+) Worth mentioning: Ogunjobi was next to Richardson in team drills before his groin injury, and Elliott and Ankou got most of the second-team reps. LINEBACKER 1. Sione Takitaki 1. B.J. Goodson 1. Tae Davis 2. Montrel Meander 2. Jacob Phillips 2. Willie Harvey 3. Solomon Ajayi Mack Wilson (+) Worth mentioning: Davis is getting first crack at replacing Wilson with the first team. He leaves the field when the Browns add an extra safety. CORNERBACK 1. Denzel Ward 1. Greedy Williams 1. M.J. Stewart (nickel) 2. Terrance Mitchell 2. Donovan Olumba 2. Donnie Lewis Jr. (nickel) 3. A.J. Green 3. Robert Jackson 3. Tavierre Thomas Kevin Johnson (+) Worth mentioning: Johnson was the nickel corner for first-team reps before his injury. Mitchell is often the first man up to replace Williams or Ward in first-team drills. Olumba has shown up in first-team drills in recent days. SAFETY 1. Karl Joseph 1. Andrew Sendejo 1(b). Grant Delpit 2. Sheldrick Redwine 2. Elijah Benton 3. Jovante Moffatt 3. J.T. Hassell Worth mentioning: It’s difficult to tell what the Browns’ plan is for Delpit. Joseph and Sendejo have clearly been the first-team safeties. Delpit has been used in some nickel packages. SPECIALISTS K 1. Austin Seibert P 1. Jamie Gillan LS 1. Charley Hughlett KR 1. JoJo Natson 2. Dontrell Hilliard 3. D’Ernest Johnson PR 1. JoJo Natson 2. Donovan Peoples-Jones Worth mentioning: Natson seems to be the man to beat for both return jobs. It’s hard to imagine anyone overtaking him without preseason games.
