You don't need a permit if you demonstrate on public property, and do not obstruct traffic or pedestrians or building entrances.

If your demonstration begins to interfere with those functions, you could be asked to disband, and failure to do so could lead to fines and/or arrest.

Any time you march or gather in a public place you are blocking access to the general public. Whether that be to roads, public parks, public squares, etc... A city must allow for that and reroute traffic. They must provide officers to conduct crowd control. As such, they need advance notice and must review such events to see if they are logistically possible. They must notify the public in advance so they are prepared to make changes to their routes to and from work and other locations. That's why permits are required.

Not that people always adhere to that. But if one promotes actually keeping our laws, a permit is required.

If you are marching in public, does a counter protest group have the right to block your ability to march?

I don't think the focus should be on whether or not it's Antifa. I think the important thing is that these things are happening and that they should be stopped.

They have decided to make unsubstantiated claims about who they wish to blame for committing them rather than how to stop the violence. From day one I've stated that all of those committing criminal acts should be caught, tried and convicted of those crimes.

But for some reason that's not enough. They're looking for some "group to blame for it". So we have seen what seems like hundreds of videos showing the violence while the person who sent out the tweets just yells "Antifa!" with no evidence to support it.

Firstly, I've never defended Antifa. I have stated that we shouldn't blame people we're not sure that are responsible. You can't just take video of a group of people and scream they belong to Antifa and there be any validity to it. That's also the kind of thing you've railed against in the past.

I've also said that this violence is coming from a multitude of people who belong to different groups from both extremes. It seems some of the more moderate ideas you've had in the past now tend to be offensive to your current train of thought.

That's the real issue in this thread, the right does not accept the fact that other bad actors have been involved in this mess by sending in goons to perpetuate the chaos. Hell, even Trump did it in plain sight with unmarked thugs acting as a secret paramilitary group of bags over the head kidnappers. Homeland/border security officers helping local law enforcement my ass, why weren't they marked and identified immediately? And do you think attacks on white communities by these same thugs would EVER be tolerated in America?

Meanwhile, cities burn, looting, rioting, property damage and physical harm are coming to some. And people are arguing about WHO is doing it? Not stopping it.

These things are happening because the outside agitators WANT a big ass kent style clash to stop the protests, so be careful what you wish for. I find it amazing how most of the protests have been peaceful and that they have all but subsided in most places. Only in the most progressive places are things still being stirred, as if somebody wants to somehow make those places an example of evil doings/deeds.

It may be callous, but if a group of people is rioting for 2-3 months straight, then they deserve any pain and suffering coming to them when they clash with authorities. Especially if they are third party organizations looking to propagate bedlam.

I mean hell, in less than 24 hours the black guy who beat the white driver was identified and is being hunted, and mostly because 'lefties' on social media identified him. It's obvious you haven't been watching. CNN has been showing it. In fact focusing on that far more than the peaceful protestors which are the vast majority of the people in the streets. Just like you do.
