Wow, this is certainly a shake-up to their defense. I read there was a problem with him and Chuck Clark but apparently there is a lot more that goes into last season.

Just one more reason for Chubb love! This (was) obviously much worse than I thought it was when I first heard he had some issues with fellow Rat.

Please. No.

I wouldn't mind if the Browns signed him. He's better than any FS on our team.

Is this the Earl Thomas that in 2018, round abouts, it was a , late July I think, there was a story the Browns were trying to sign him, (and this wasn't a rumor, it was like a Browns sight, or Plain dealer, or ESPN personality, iirc, ) and the Ravens convinced him to sign there instead. IIRC.
There was a player, a safety, that did that, I'm just not sure if it was Thomas or someone else.
Pretty sure it was Thomas, What year? I dunno, a year or two ago.

Can Deshaun Watson play better for the Browns, than Baker Mayfield would have? ... Now the Games count.

But anything can happen. If everyone stops sprinting and then Nick Chubb trips, he'd still have time to get up and score (unless, someone was chasing him down and could touch him down)

That's my take too. Thomas gave up at mid-field and anything could happen that last 50 yards or so, Chubb could fall or accidentally drop the ball.

Never give up on a play. You’re taught that at an early age, no matter the sport.

That’s lazy.

That was Tony Jefferson who also signed with the Ravens.

No thank you. The Ravens players wanted him gone. If he can’t cut it there I don’t see him fitting in with us.

Arizona.

However, I will say that both Jefferson and Thomas were rumored to go to the Browns, albeit in different years. I could be wrong about this part, but I think Jefferson is the dude who said he didn't want to play for the Browns.

CBS Sports' Jason LaCanfora reports the Ravens Leadership Council "made it clear" they would prefer Earl Thomas not be around.
Thomas is away from the team after getting in a fight with teammate Chuck Clark. He also had an off-field situation with his wife that was reported by TMZ back in May. We're not sure why this is such a big deal, but the Ravens are "evaluating their options." Baltimore has a conduct detrimental clause that allows them to release Thomas without paying the rest of his guarantees. They could also fine him. Thomas remained one of the top safeties in the league in his first season in Baltimore. The Ravens' secondary would take a major hit if they moved on from Thomas.

EARL THOMAS
DB, UNSIGNED FREE AGENT

Ravens released FS Earl Thomas.
The release comes with a conduct detrimental to the team clause. The Ravens will take a $15 million cap hit to move on from Thomas. That could jump to $25 million if Thomas wins a grievance. Thomas remained one of the better safeties in the league last year, but his off-field baggage could limit his free-agent suitors. DeShon Elliott is expected to replace Thomas opposite Chuck Clark. ESPN's Adam Schefter reported the Cowboys are the frontrunners to sign Thomas. Houston and the 49ers have also been linked as possible landing spots.

Thomas is still a good player. This move hurts the Ravens. He will make another team better.

He is still a good player but is he worth the trouble? The Ravens didn’t think so. If someone could assure me he wouldn’t be a locker room cancer I would change my mind. The fact is no one can. I just don’t think we have enough veteran leadership.

It is pretty evident that his at home life is effecting his work. This pandemic has a lot of strife being brought out especially spouse abuse. Was he a problem child before this? He needs mental help and quick...who cares about football we owe it to him as a human being to get him out of this funk before he does something really bad!

jmho...oh and sign him rofl

Thats a great point about the affects of Covid ... My first thought was dude needs help also ...

Yesterday Lou Holtz said that there were more suicides in May than there were in all of 2019 ... i have no reason to doubt Lou Holtz ... thats crazy ...

He also made another interesting point ... over 300 athletes have tested positive for Covid ... not one hospitalization much less any deaths ...

Judging by him flipping off the sideline, his altercations last year, his altercations this year, and his personal life issues, I think the guy definitely has some struggles when it comes to impulse control and mental health.

Your speculation could be spot on that the current situation may be an additional factor that exacerbates some of the issues he already has, for sure.

Found this info...

On May 6, 2020, it was reported by TMZ that on April 13, Thomas was allegedly held at gunpoint by his wife Nina after finding him and his brother, Seth Thomas, in bed with other women.[111] Nina’s arrest was reported the following day. link

Thomas might be a cancer of the worst kind..messing around someone else's lady.

Don't need to infect the Browns roster with known trouble.

This reads funny. Are you saying it was loaded or that her assumptions were correct and it actually was unloaded?
