And that's pretty much what I thought. Neither Biden nor MEGA hats are allowed.
But sadly this is what happens when people believe everything they read on the internet. It's even more sad when that person happens to be our president.
Yo Bro. If they can wear black lives matter stuff then they sure as hell should be able to wear blue lives matter stuff. To do otherwise is discrimination. Which I am sure you don't support.
I need more information..all I see is what looks to be some kind of training slide with nothing showing what department or individual is responsible for the slide...
Something is missing, imo.
Instead of flying off half-cocked believing the story being floated, the slide didn't seem to be legit, to me. I wanted to find out more info about who at Goodyear was responsible for putting that slide in the presentation.
I didn't believe a major company like Goodyear would use the guidelines as listed on the slide. To me, it looked like someone may have made that slide up and without authorization, put that info in the presentation for some stupid reason.
Goodyear said the following...
Quote:
Fox 19 television reported that this image was originally posted by a Goodyear employee at the company’s plant in Topeka, Kansas, who said that the slide came from the company’s corporate office in Akron, Ohio. Goodyear’s corporate office disputed this in a statement, however, writing that this image was “not created or distributed by Goodyear corporate” and that it was not “part of a diversity training class.”
It seems "the employee responsible" for that slide, wants to remain ANONYMOUS.
It's very likely that the employee never thought the current President and nearly all the MAGA hatters would believe what was on the slide. I hope he keeps his job!
NUFF SAID....
How easy is it to lead a heard of "rw sheep"?
...Never question ...never wait for more info ...never take the time to dig for information on your own
...just wait for someone like a known liar, like Trump, to tell you "what to think" and "how to react" to what might be no more than a joke by a MAGMA hatter
And that's pretty much what I thought. Neither Biden nor MEGA hats are allowed.
But sadly this is what happens when people believe everything they read on the internet. It's even more sad when that person happens to be our president.

There are no ‘blue lives’. No one is born blue. You have a job, being a cop. Black lives matter. It’s not a choice. You’re born black. Born as a race that’s seen in a different light by society. There’s no equivalency. There is no ‘discrimination’.
Blue is the color of a freaking t shirt. The false equivalency they keep pulling is mind boggling.
“To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public.”
Blue lives matter is a political response to a social movement.
It ONLY exist as a counter to BLM.
Anyway, good luck with those Firestone tires.
“To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public.”
That’s why you deserve to be ruthlessly mocked. Sounding like trump right now.
“To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public.”
You guys are good at "mocking" others. I'll give you that.
To the board: Once again, I encourage you all to research the demands that the various chapters of the Black Lives Matter organization. Judge for yourselves if they are good for the entire populace or if they are radical and self-serving for one group.

Martin Luther King needed Malcolm X....
Every social group advocating for change needs a radical component and a pragmatic component in order to succeed.
Unfortunately, it is all too easy these days to point fingers at the most radical thing that any person representing the other side has ever said -- and use that in order to reject the entire movement.
Someone made a big deal out of a wedding cake in Denver for a gay couple.. they defended the right of the baker to deny service to a gay couple
I thought it was foolish, but I recognized his right to do so.
Now all of a sudden it's not ok for a corporation to tell employees what the can wear or not?
Personally I like it when MAGA Hatters are allowed to wear those hats.. That way I know who to think less of without having to actually speak to them.. I find it very helpful....

They weren't allowed to wear Biden hats either. Trump is the biggest snowflake there is and every time anyone does or says something he doesn't like, he throws a tantrum. He obviously cares more about his feelings than American jobs. This is the evidence of that. But we can look throughout history to see that's how dictators start out. Anyone who speaks out against them is punished. That doesn't describe a president.

What I think is the bigger disappointment, is that we have reached a point where people can't just be mature and civil when they disagree with things.
Someone getting confrontational and uncivil over something someone else is wearing, and I am talking both sides, any side, any subject matter, something as simple as an opposing teams jersey, is just ridiculous.
It seems many have forgotten that we are not all the same, we all think differently, have different perspectives on things, and that is what helps us make progress, but only if we acknowledge those differences and try to work toward a middle ground.
We don't have to agree with each other, to respect each others opinion.

That’s the problem some think we are not all the same. We are all human. We may not look alike or think alike but in essence we are all the same under god . But there is a authority well in place to suppress those who want that equality realized.
Systemic Racism in our governments and police forces.

My post had nothing to do with racism. It was about civility, and how people just can't respect each others differences. We ARE different, and always will be. We look different, we act different, we think different, we live different.
Those differences are what makes us as a species able to advance and progress, if we take the time to see those differences, converse about them, and work together to find solutions to issues that gives us both a satisfactory outcome.
Neither may get everything they want, but we can usually find middle ground, but we need to think independently and quit letting others actions, and/or our own opinions, dictate how we interact with each other.
We don't have to agree with each other, to respect each others opinion.

Goodyear is the employer.. Last I checked it was their right to dictate what can and can't be worn in their offices and factories.
Only an idiot would say that we should boycott a company with 60000 employees, born in Akron Ohio simply because he doesn't like their dress code.

I don't care what Trump said, or what Biden says, or anyone else for that matter. I can form my own opinion.
My point was that Goodyear is dictating what is acceptable to wear on company premises, because many people can't be civil and mature when confronted with a differing opinion than their own.

Respecting each others differences is facing racism with equality head on! Just saying. There is a certain authority well in place to suppress those equalities.
Until we face systematic racism in our schools police forces and governments head on, we won’t advance pass these differences.

The NFL does the same thing to their employees who want to make a statement during their work and that seems to be ok right? Do we have a double standard now?

Yes, but wouldn't be make better progress if we put our differences aside and work toward a solution instead of just labeling people and groups and being confrontational?
I know, it's been tried before.... But each time we make progress.
I hate to be the realist here, but racism isn't going to be solved by laws, rules regulations, etc. Those only help in creating civility among the law abiding.
The only real fix for racism is time. Each generation gets better. Even then, I doubt it ever goes away completely. There will always be those extreme groups, best we can hope is they stay in their little caves or compounds and seldom show their face.

Not sure I follow you here? I presume you are talking about the kneeling?
I personally don't care if players kneel or not. Honestly I don't think the National Anthem should be played games. I don't really see the connection, especially for an game that is international and has fans all across the world.

It’s always time?
Enough is enough
It’s about time.

And that sounds great in theory. But let me ask you this, if you were on the receiving end of racism, how many more generations would it take for you to say enough is enough? At what point does your patience wear out?
It would be quite easy for me to agree with you because it's not may family and friends on the receiving end of such treatment. So for me to say I know how it feels is not true. But I do know I am someone who stands up for himself. And I can't imagine myself and the people who raised me watching people get killed and mistreated by the police and just saying, "Be patient, maybe it will be fixed in a few more generations."
I like discussing things with you because you certainly seem to be someone willing to have a rational discussion. As such I hope you understand this is something that I feel deserves consideration. Not actually trying to change your mind here.
Technology has changed a lot of things. Some for the good and some for the bad. But one thing it has done is bring videos taken on your phone into view for everyone to see. Before that time we had a lot of "he said, she said" going on and in most cases the majority of people took the word of authority over the word of others.
Now that's not the case. We see people being shot in the back just for trying to run away. We see people actually being killed by the police. Yes, it is a crime to flee from the police, but the death penalty is not the sentence for it in any court in the land.
So the question becomes how long do you wait for that to be fixed over time? How long is that acceptable and something that isn't confronted?
Once again I do agree we have people on the fringe on both directions. Not something I'm in favor of. But neither extreme is staying in a cave. Violence and criminal activity does not further the cause in either direction.
The biggest changes that have ever come to our nation hasn't happened because people sat back and let time fix things. It's been accomplished through civil discourse. It's been caused due to movements and protest. And yes, even war. It's an American tradition dating back to the Boston Tea Party.

I agree with everything you said, and I didn't say we shouldn't try to make things better.
When I said "time", it was not meant as "just wait it out". It was more about people expecting some sort of legal or political action to suddenly make everything right and better. And you know that is not reality.
We don't have to agree with each other, to respect each others opinion.
And that has a lot to do why I find it so confusing people try to muddy the waters about protesting police brutality. They use, "But what about black on black crime?"
It sounds to me that you understand it's hard enough to tackle one issue at a time. Both are certainly huge issues that need to be addressed. But I compare it with the women's suffrage movement. They wanted the right to vote.
They knew if they complicated the issue it would only get drowned out. I mean they weren't saying, "We want to vote. And while we're at it we want to fix our right to work, equal wages and domestic violence."
each battle is won separately and only when it's the focus. Expecting to fix everything at one time is something we both agree can not be accomplished. People can disagree about the priority list all they like but claiming that trying to focus on more than one issue at a time as a way to move forward would be counterproductive to fixing anything.

Or the idea that you talk about something like racism and police abuse independently of other issues ... and the gas-lighting argument that you don't really care about the black community because we aren't talking about Black on Black crime in every post/topic. That manipulation is nauseating.
The more things change the more they stay the same.
I think conversations get twisted by manipulators. Not every single topic is about racism. Not everything is about police brutality or black-on-black crime.
I get that some folks try to make it so, but there are other things going on.
Some of us think that one should have the right to support whomever we want w/out being called racists or Nazis. Folks should not have to fear getting their asses kicked because they wear a hat supporting a certain candidate. I know a ton of people who support the right who are far from being racists. My own wife is a conservative and she actually is a minority.
It seems to me that those who place wide-ranging labels on other people are acting the same way as those they profess to dislike.
A person should never feel threatened because of the color of their skin.
A person should never feel threatened because what attire they wear.
A person should never feel threatened because of their religious beliefs.
A person should never feel threatened because of their gender.
A person should never feel threatened because of their political beliefs.
Yet, here we are.
Personally, I oppose those on both sides who think it's okay to practice any of those unsavory tactics.
This is NOT a race issue. It's a freedom of expression issue.
