Tyler Naquin had been in an 11 or 12 AB slide coming into today. Consider today a slump-buster, 3-4 with 2 HR and 5 RBI.

His HR was on a low FB. He hammers low pitches.

With Tim Anderson going 0-4 tonight his batting average slides to .333.

Franmil Reyes is now in sole possession of the best batting average across the entire American League (.336).

I think he should be the cleanup hitter sooner rather than later. I think that was the intention when trading for him as well.

He had the best RH hitter swing ever, IMO. (Griffey Jr would be my lefty.)

Man naquin just killed us tonight. He's got some fielding issues in RF

Carlos blowing a routine play that should have been a force at home was far worse.

Yeah, fielding isn’t his strong suit

Wasnt a force, would have been a tough play at the plate, thats why he was hurrying.

The guy was dead at the plate with an average play. You're right, it wasn't a force, but it would have been an out if he would have just made the play at 1st, and thrown home. Simple play that should have been made, and far more egregious than Naquin not being able to make a play at the wall. (and I like Carlos)

Bieber went 5 IP with 1 ER ..... and his ERA went up . ........

10K and 1 BB.

Yeah, as soon as we can start talking about buying up years of freed agency, the better.

Still think Karinchak may be looked at as the future closer but this isn't a bad thing, either.

Allen was a good player, just never thought he found his place among several young outfielders vying for a role.

I ask myself that about Santana. We need to find a legit 1b

'Los has the second highest OBP on the team. I'd still consider moving him back to the lead off position. Santana sees a lot pitches per AB.

hahaahha you are clueless about baseball. you know if you actually hit the ball you don't need walks, and santana is one of the worst fielding 1B in all of baseball. He should platoon at DH and not be fielding

His OBP is right around his career average, but his BA, Slugging, and OPS are all way down. Career OPS is .813, but this year its .694 (.750 is considered "average or adequate" for a ML hitter). More than any other Indian hitter, I think defensive shifts have messed with his mind. And while its great that he takes pitches and walks a lot, this line up needs him to provide power and drive in runs, especially given the offensive void at 6-7-8-9.

The Indians have optioned reliever Adam Cimber to the alternate site and have promoted lefty reliever Kyle Nelson to take his spot.

Nelson posted a 2.28 ERA with 69 strikeouts in 47 innings last year at three minor-league levels.

Last night the Braves scored 29 runs.

Incredible. Adam Duvall had his second 3 homer game in a week.

The Braves have lost all 5 starters to injury. Yet they are in first place. Just pounding the ball.
