I think he should be the cleanup hitter sooner rather than later. I think that was the intention when trading for him as well.

The guy was dead at the plate with an average play. You're right, it wasn't a force, but it would have been an out if he would have just made the play at 1st, and thrown home. Simple play that should have been made, and far more egregious than Naquin not being able to make a play at the wall. (and I like Carlos)

This offseason, after we trade Lindor, we need to take whatever money we would have given him via stalled contract talks and extend Bieber, forfeiting his arbitration years by giving him more money and extending him by a couple of years. His ceiling is amazing and it will help spell any fan animosity by trading their best offensive player.

His OBP is right around his career average, but his BA, Slugging, and OPS are all way down. Career OPS is .813, but this year its .694 (.750 is considered "average or adequate" for a ML hitter). More than any other Indian hitter, I think defensive shifts have messed with his mind. And while its great that he takes pitches and walks a lot, this line up needs him to provide power and drive in runs, especially given the offensive void at 6-7-8-9.
