At DT, context and meaning are a scarecrow kicking at moving goalposts.

I think it is fair to include OBJ on this "healthy" list as the first rounder was used on him, but still, ugh from an injury standpoint. That is brutal. I know it seems like it was ten years ago but 2019 was LAST year.

Njoku just cant stay healthy
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

I remember on the second half kickoff that Seibert was pretty short and the Ravens got a pretty good return. In the NFL your kicker has to be able to kick out of the end zone, Seibert’s leg didn’t seem all that strong.

With the showing we saw yesterday, I don't see a lot of wins on the schedule. I think my 8-8 prediction may have been bold. All of our cupcake games won their first games....Washington, Jacksonville, Vegas....even the Bengals put up a better fight than we did.
Baltimore is a Superbowl roster, that I get so I take with a grain of salt. I just think even our gimmies are 50/50 after yesterday.

Yeah, I'm not looking forward to Thursday.
I can't wait till Thursday night ... i want to see what we have. HC, Play calling, Baker, OBJ, DL..... they all need to step up 2 or 3 levels from Sunday. Who will?
The more things change the more they stay the same.

Seems like a fairly rash decision to cut Seibert. We still have guys complaining about Gonzalez, but he was cut after a similar performance. One thing that some of us have noticed over the years is that it takes some of these kickers time to get it together.

Kickers often do get better with age.
Speaking of which, I think we should bring in a CFL kicker by the name of Brett Lauther, a FG-kicking machine who’s been in the CFL a few years and now is a free agent looking for an NFL shot.
His former coach with the Saskatchewan Roughriders was Chris Jones, who currently works for the Browns.
Look Lauther up.

I would find it amusing if he signs with the Bengals and kicks a game winning field goal against us Thursday night. Bullok has a pulled calf muscle so it's not out of the realm of possibility.

It seems like we were ready to move on from Seibert before Sunday and his performance just put the nail in the coffin.

just here to remind the board that we should've re-signed schobert.

Wasn't Gonzalez supposedly hurt? And that led to his misses, hence his release. I don't know that Seibert is injured. He just sucks.

One thing that some of us have noticed over the years is that it takes some of these kickers time to get it together. I was actually thinking the same thing. But at the end of the day, there are the basics that you HAVE to be able to execute 100% of the time if you want to stay on an NFL roster. XP's are one of those things. Couple that with the weaker leg (struggled to get it where it needed to go on kickoffs) and you just don't have enough positives to outweigh the negatives. The one thing I will say is that this does just about nothing to address what went wrong on Sunday. Dang near every single Browns roster spot contributed more to the poor performance. I hope they weren't looking to send a message by cutting the kicker.... If I were one of the players, I would probably just laugh if that were the case.

just here to remind the board that we should've re-signed schobert. Maybe I'm just making too much of one game, but I'm thinking we need to slightly re-think what we want out of our roster. Ravens and Lamar Jackson obviously aren't going anywhere. Road to the playoffs/SB looks like it's going to run through Baltimore for at least a little while. I think we should start thinking about constructing our D to be able to contain the run and cover the TE. Right now, we are not that.

Did anybody make a play on the ball in our defensive secondary? We should outlaw zone the way we drop and watch. The rook will be hungry to see it.
Hard to overstate how badly unprepared we looked.

Hard to overstate how badly unprepared we looked. I don't disagree...but we were without one starting CB and our starting slot CB...and starting LB...playing one of the top 5 teams in the league...under a new coach and scheme...after a shortened training camp...on the road...and the sun was in our eyes.

I think the notion that Haslam is cheap was put to bed awhile ago.
I think he sucks as an owner, but it's unfair to say he is cheap.

You must not remember Schobert. There were things he was great at, tackling wasn’t one of them. I wish we would’ve kept him but let’s not make him into Patrick Willis.

I bet Jimmy Haslam was nervous when WaPo published the articles about sexual harassment in the work place under Dan Snyder. Anyone remember when Alec Scheiner was here and and there were stories of the Browns FO running the organization like a frat house and there were allegations of sexual harassment? https://www.dawgsbynature.com/2015/12/1/...cuses-browns-of

I remember. Snyder himself was involved in the other story though. And the allegations go back for years. Snyder is borderline Donald Sterling territory at this point. Haslam is just a stooge.

just here to remind the board that we should've re-signed schobert. If this was a videoe of him covering a TE as woefully as his downhill tackling, then I'd agree with you. Joe Schobert's strength was never his tackling (which we did need more of vs Balt), but it was his coverage, which (to your point) we definitely could've used vs Balt's TEs.
