MIKE CLEVINGER SP, SAN DIEGO PADRES Kevin Acee of the San Diego Union-Tribune reports that the Padres "fear they have lost" Mike Clevinger (arm) for the postseason. Clevinger had to exit Wednesday's start versus the Angels after just one inning. While the team has yet to offer any details, Acee hears that the "primary preliminary suspicions" are that the right-hander is dealing with a muscle strain or tendinitis in his pitching arm. An MRI has been scheduled, and obviously more will be known once those results are in. Clevinger had to be scratched from his last scheduled start due to biceps tightness. Ok so how does playoff seeding work this year? I know 8 teams get in but are the matchups set by division winners and then record regardless as to first or second place?

Id have to disagree, with the White Sox, Twins, and Indians all making the playoffs, thats a pretty good division to me. And Tigers and Royals havent been pushovers either, JMO.

White Sox scored 3 in the top of the 7th to knock out Plesac and take a 4-1 lead. Indians scored 4 in the bottom of the 7th to take a 5-4 lead. 3 up and 3 down for the Sox in the top of the 8th. I'm guessing it'll be Brad Hand time in the 9th.
Just by the way, its quite clear listening to Tom Hamilton's call of the the game that he's not a fan of Indians CF Delino DeShields Jr.
