There were whispers from some in the media and I think even myself that Mahomes wasn't lighting it up this year. Then, last night happened. The guy is a true savant of the position. His pocket presence is incredible. He absolutely destroys the blitz. He seemingly conducts that offense like it's an orchestra. Incredible.
The Chiefs offense is a thing of beauty. Reid is excellent as a schemer and play-caller. And the team is loaded w/talent. Their OL is suspect, but they have talent at the skill positions.
Baltimore had no answer for KC's offense. Their DC was trying everything and nothing worked. I would not write them off though because there is only one Mahomes.
Lamar struggled and he got frustrated. The Ravens have good backs and TEs, but their WRs are so bad. That is going to cost them in big games. Their OL looked a bit suspect, as well. They have a hole at RG for sure.
I really believe beating the Chiefs comes down to a team being able to just play keep away as much as possible. And doing a few weird things like going for 2 every TD, maybe a trick onside kick, etc

what is great for Mahomes...he has had one head coach and one offense his entire career. Major advantage to do his thing and he is one heck of a QB not quite the GOAT yet but of his generation he is the standard!
The build up about Lamar vs Mahomes was over done, not even a comparison. Lamar has won...great defense and great running game. With Lamar being the best runner. But as you can see when forced to pass...he is not an MVP. jmho

Not only is Mahomes freaky athletic, but he is also football smart. He was 17 for 21 for 219 yards and 3 scores vs the blitz last night. Griese was pointing out how he was informing his protection where the blitz was coming from before the plays. It's truly a joy to watch.
