Cowboys are favored by 5 and the over/under is 55.5.
On offense, the Cowboys rank 1st in yards per game and 8th in points.
The Browns are 20th in yards and 18th in scoring.
Defensively, the Cowboys are 26th in yards allowed and 30th in points allowed.
The Browns are 9th in yards permitted and 24th in points allowed.
The 'Boys have played the Rams, ATL, and Seattle. The Browns have played Baltimore, Cinci, and Washington. For sure, the Browns schedule has been easier overall.
The Cowboys have a strong passing attack w/Dak at qb and 3 WRs in Cooper, Lamb, and Galloway. Zeke is a very good back.
Their OL is banged up. Smith and Collins were hurt and they shifted guys around.
Defensively, the Cowboys are a mess. Aldon Smith, who has been out of football for years, is their best defensive player. Their secondary is terrible. Their LBer corps has been hurt by injury.
The Browns also have good WRs in OBJ and Landry. The Browns boast the best 1-2 bunch of RBs in the entire league.
The Browns OL is better than the Dallas OL.
Defensively, the Browns boast a very good DL and their corners are pretty good. Their safeties and LBers are bad.
This should be a high-scoring game.

Track meet for the Cows. Hope we can keep up and get a few fluke plays our way. We should be healthier, and maybe bully a bit. Our pass rush can help us as well (I hope!).

I'm really worried about the cowboys neutralizing our pass rush by going up tempo and going for quick pass for YAC due to our pretty bad secondary. i'm hoping we can get somebody healthy back there to give us a chance to get a few stops.

In a track meet i dont really like our chances. Both defenses are banged up. Im expecting both vernon and greedy to miss another game and ward may as well. I think the worst thing that happened to us for this game is the cowboys lost last week. If they were 2-1 i would like our chances better. However they lost and thier record is 1-2. They will be desperate not to go 1-3. So i think they come out swinging and we will be playing catch up the whole game which will make our run game less effective.

If Woods plays a lot of zone ( in his 4/2 ) Dak and Zeke will kill us short and underneath in the middle .. Don't think we will have the corners to play Man. Ward missed the second half last week. Their WR's are good enough.
I look for an improvement by the Offense every week !

I fear this game is going to be a blowout. I don’t think our offense will win in a shootout with Dallas. I think that at this point in time Dak is a better QB than Baker. That will be the difference in the game. When plays break down Dak can also use his feet to keep drives alive, something that Baker isn’t able to do. Down and distance will be very important.

In short, we have two good offenses going against two very bad defenses.
It seems to me that the defense that does the best will win this one. I don't want to get ahead of myself, but I think that is our defense - IF our secondary gets a little healthier. With our DLine alone, I think we're better. Add in a secondary that can take away their best WR and our chances go up. We just need our Offense to not go into any 3rd Qtr funks and keep the gas on all day.
Browns is the Browns

Cowboys are a desperate team after another tough game and loss. Their offense is high paced and tough to stop. We’ll have to control the clock and the ball IMO.
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Jeudy is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Tillman is flanked out wide to the right. Judkins and Ford are split in the backfield as Flacco takes the snap ... Here we go."

This game might come down to our DL and one or two plays.
Cowboys are a 'sleeping giant' - they were a sexy pick to do very well this year, they have a monster offense that's not dissimilar to ours: Great OL and running game and running back, great WR's - I happen to like our RB, WRs and TE's a little better but we are still learning so many new things and transitioning from unstable chaos and fixing culture, mentality as well as trying to fix a broken QB from last year.
We've talked about "must win" games for the Browns ... well this is truly a "must win" game for the Cowboys. Expect them to throw everything at us.
I think we can win - I think we can score points on them all day. But a poor outing by Baker will wreck it for us. Dropped passes or miscues/penalties will wreck it for us. A shambolic and soft D will wreck it for us. . . . it feels like Dallas has a greater margin for error while still being able to get the W than we do.
It *should* be a fun game to watch - probably more so as a neutral.
The Party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command.

Last time we met, Dak destroyed us. I was at that game with my grandsons, both Cowboy fans. Good times. Fortunately, they understand my pain and didn't grind it in. Some revenge would be sweet, but I don't see it happening. I think this one comes down to QB play, and we hold the short stick. Literally as well as figuratively.

Dallas run game isn't that great this year and elliot has been meh, we have the advantage there 10 fold, but despite having better receivers, Dak is light years ahead of Baker in being able to read a defense and being able to get the ball down the field. Baker still struggles with nfl windows and what constitutes as being open. Monday night watching Jackson and Mahommes and some of the balls they threw for scores I couldnt see baker even looking at that throw. Defense I think we are about even. Our Dline should have better success against their oline than theirs against ours. I think its going to come down to how well we run the ball and sticking with it to keep the ball away from the Dallas offense. We do that, and Baker does what he's done the last two weeks and take care of the ball and play smart and take what they give him, we should be able to play with them. In the past this would always be a Loss and could almost go ahead and count it as such before the season started, this year, I'm not so sure. I think Dallas probably still wins, but I don't see it being a convincing win. We are a couple bad plays by them from stealing it

I think this one will require a shoot out on our part to score enough points to win. I'm not sure we're quite prepared to succeed at that type of game plan at the current time. Not that it will be the game plan going into the game. But circumstances dictate changing things up when called for.
Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

Daughter's boyfriend is a Cowboys fan. Wife just asked me if she SHOULD, not 'could', ask Sooga if she wanted to come home Sunday, and have her boyfriend here as well.
All I said was "I don't care. He knows me. I'm going to be me during the game. And I'll be in my usual spot - the garage."

i would like nothing more than to see us beat the cowboys but i just don’t see it. with their o and our d i expect them to put up 30-40 points. hope i’m wrong. injuries are part of the game and everyone is dealing with them but what is it with vernon. every year including with the giants he’s out. he is someone who has a lot of talent and whom we really need. i wouldn’t bother to resign him after this season. all that talent means nothing if he’s never on the field . we got the short end of that trade.

Former Cowboys' DB Orlando Scandrick was on a local show today talking about this week's game. Asked for his thoughts on Mayfield, he said "I've been very critical of Baker Mayfield. I think he stinks.". Around the 6:02 mark on listener link ... https://www.radio.com/923thefan/sports/c...-baker-mayfieldOn the other hand, Scandrick also said he thinks the Browns' defense has a "phenomenal front 7". Wait, wut?

Well, checked 506sports.com..............Browns at dallas won't be televised here as of now. Probably won't change, either. I'll get a choice of NO at Detroit, or the TBD game (titans vs. whoever they play - which currently is a no go)

Probably won't be much use to you or Arch, but I figured I'd share anyway.
I subscribed to Youtube TV and have watched all Cleveland sports for the last two years... Last year I was in St Louis, this year in Fort Wayne. All you have to do is log in with the app (in the area in which you want service) once every 90 days. Works for me because I go home often. $65 per month, a ton of channels including all local, unlimited DVR, can share the account six ways (no more than three streaming at the same time). Have it at my house, my apartment, my in-laws and my son's dorm (with room for two more locations) for that price.

Cincy's market gets Giants/Rams, whereas Dayton gets the Browns. That's garbage. You'd think Bengals fans would care more about what happens to the Browns than the Rams and the biggest pile of garbage in the NFC.

I'm nothing if not flexible. We decided to go to a sports bar to watch. Not the same as being at home.......but.
Then, wife said her sister would let us watch in her basement (direct tv), so we might do that instead. More homelike, but still not home.

I can't think of the last time I've been worried about the opponent's number 1 WR.. maybe Antonio Brown w/ the Steelers? I hope our defense does everything you mentioned, but even if they do, our Achille's Heel is still TEs. Opponents don't need a + level TE in order to carry the day.

Fire stick with kodi and add the crew app and you can watch any sport and tons of movies, plus they have all the full games and condensed as well as redzone

I have a question or two for the smart football people: how can we exploit their defence and what gives us our best chance at limiting their O?

Chub and Hunt. Make them play the run.
What gives us the best chance at limiting their O?
Get to Dak, often, and early, but we can't disregard Zeke. To my knowledge, they've been scoring and passing. Get to Prescott early in the play, without leaving open running lanes for zeke.
On O, we dictate early on. Run the ball, add some play action, and run the ball........

IMO we only contain Zeke by getting an early lead and running the ball well.

The Cow-patties are 1-2 and playing at home...still being "darlings"...the "league" doesn't want them going 1-3 in a putrid NFC East conference. I anticipate a lot of "Zebra-magic" in this game.
We will have to play a compelte game to win. The Cow-pies aren't the Ravens...but they aren't the Bengals or Redskins either.

how can we exploit their defence and what gives us our best chance at limiting their O? --The Cowboy secondary is bad. Their LBers don't offer much help in coverage. We should be able to pass the ball on them if we choose to. --Our coverage is also bad, so it is imperative that we are able to pressure Dak w/our front four.

When looking at strengths and weaknesses game planning in this case is difficult.
They will score on us. They put up big yards in passing with a good qb and receivers. We have trouble against the run and pass.
Perhaps their issues on the OL will help in pass rush because that will be a key in this game.
We run well. However, they have more problems on the back end. Typically in a high scoring game you would want to run and eat clock. Slow the game down with ball control long drives.
However, maybe our best chances are against their secondary. So, in that case you score quickly. Going against what you would like to do.
=============================================
I have only seen them against the Falcons. Obviously the Falcons gave that game away or the cows would be 0-3.
But they proved they can score.
In the end the Browns should do what they do best. Establish that run game and work off play action. Balance.
Take your shots when they present themselves.
Turnovers are always huge. Hopefully Garrett and the front can apply pressure to Dak and we can get some turnovers.
If we can that might the way to win this game.

That's actually what I was thinking just now. We won't stop them, but we could make a handful of big plays on the defensive side and take the ball away a couple times. That would be huge.

I know it's cliche, but we need to win that battle in the trenches. Physicality is the key, and it all starts with posture. The Browns m.o. for twenty-some years is to put their tails between their legs when facing a team that is more physical, you see it as soon as the teams walk on the field. Can't afford that demeanor this week, or really, any given Sunday.
Cowboys are 27th against the run. They'll load the box until we can prove that we will beat them with the pass. Baker needs to be sharp early. He needs to show that he can beat the blitz, play well in the pocket under pressure, two things he has shown that he can't do so far.
Dak has thrown for over 900 yards in the last two games... he has also thrown over 100 passes. We're "not going to stop him, we can only hope to contain him". Elliot looked rather pedestrian against the Seahawks, but it's still a guessing game from play to play with him in the backfield.
Even though their offense looks pretty scary on paper, they still seem to go through peaks and valleys from series to series. We MUST capitalize on any mistakes and turnovers to have a chance.
Also - keep up the great work in the red zone!
- 2019 Weeks 1-3 30% success rate (30th) 30% run rate (29th) 4 TDs, 1 INT - 2020 Weeks 1-3 59% success rate (9th) 76% run rate (highest) 9 TDs, 0 INT

They're going to do everything they can to take away the run and force us to air it out as early as possible. They're going to come out hot and try to put up an early lead to further force that issue. With no run game they're going to rattle and flush Baker out and force him to make mistakes. I'm sure our team and coaches know this. This is going to be an execution game, not an obfuscation game. Both teams know exactly what the other team is likely going to do, it's going to come down to which team executes better, makes fewer mistakes and just imposes their will.
All that said, I don't like our odds. We're still a very new and loose team. Dallas is mistake prone though they have a lot of talent. If we play a great game and stay patient with the run and the defense isn't a total sieve, we might eke one out on the backs of their mistakes. Not counting on it though.
