Other than the obvious Bernie Kosar or Joe Thomas! I’ve been watching highlights from 1984 - 1994 on youtube there is alot of players I have forgotten about. For me the player I would bring back in to help would be Michael Dean Perry to really help Larry Ogunjobi, MDP was so good, so disruptive! A close 2nd would be Mike Johnson, loved him as a player and leader.

At this time, given our deficiencies, Felix Wright. I loved that guy. Honorable mention, Clay Mathews.

I didn't get that from your original post. With that clarification it would be Cribbs. To help coach up the special teams. The return and the coverage units.

If we were talking players, I was gonna say Eric Turner or Clay Mathews for the defense and Kosar for the offense.

If we are talking coaches, I think Marty would do a good job with this team due to his conservative tendencies. Our personnel is pretty similar to the teams he lead honestly

I think Frenchy meant a former Brown to help coach.

Davis is still playing. And, he is playing at a high level. I doubt he is ready to quit playing to become a coach.

Isn’t the question which player from the past would you bring back to play on this current team? Sorry for the confusion. The original post isn’t very clear.

I know, by the time I figured that out, I couldn’t edit my post to fix it. And yes it is former Browns players.

I'd like our QB room to spend an hour or two every week watching film of that weeks opponent's defense with Bernie Kosar or Brian Sipe or Gary Danielson (or all of them). Whenever I have watched games with Kosar or Danielson doing commentary, I've been very impressed with their respective abilities breaking down defenses. And since it was my idea, I'd like to be allowed to sit in and observe.

Interesting question. I had easy answers for player, but for coach I had to really think about it.

I'm assuming they must be their current age, not an "in their prime" type, which for me would rule out Brian Sipe, and you already ruled out Kosar.

I say whichever wanted the gig and was healthy enough between Frank Minnifield and Hanford Dixon! Teach these new dogs how the OG dogs bite!

Eric Turner would be fined and suspended right out of the league. He hit too hard. I still remember him knocking the taste out of Jay Novachek's mouth in the 94 game against Dallas.

If we are talking about a player from any era of football magically brought forward in time to play then... Jim Brown. How could you not want the greatest player to ever play the game? If we are talking about and older ex-player to coach the guys? Bernie Kosar as the QB coach. He could teach Baker a lot. He was always smart. I though he should have gone into coaching as an OC.

If you read the thread title and original post, he obviously can be talking about a player, in their prime, that if you could add them to play for the Browns today, even though I take it as a player from around the league today, who could join the roster and play today.
There is nothing in the original post about coaching.

Please, I would take back Jabrill Peppers, to play on todays team

How about Tashaun Gipson, I would take him back to play on this team.

If I could bring in one player to help this team?
Is Brashad Perriman Wr Browns 2018 available.
Is Rashard Higgins available.

How about, Tight End Mark Edwards

Coaching, how about Marty Schottenheimer for coaching.

How about that tight end from the Florida Gators who had three big plays 2 weeks ago, to come in next season, (had a one syllable last name. (Pipps, Blipp?, We gotta get that guy arrrgh!)

Player to coach?
How about, the guy, You know the guy, he played tight end, finished with the Ravens' had a SB, brother was also a player, Sharpe! I don't know which one, the one from the Ravens, either Sterling or Sheppard.
To Coach the current roster.

HOw about, How about, Ty Law, how about some of those great, smart players from a decade ago, how about that charger player he probably made the hall of fame, Junior Seau, (I'm not sure he's still alive frown)
To Coach,

How about that Ronnie Lott, that 49er safety from so long ago.

OK, I think I'm the smartest cuz I don't see obvious answers from history.
Player- love Otto, but what about the MAN- Jim Brown. Period.

Coaches- history favors one guy, Bill B. the greatest
and what's wrong with my other one= first MODERN coach, Paul B.

Thanks for the clapping. Go Browns!!!

If you kept reading, you would have saw that the OP clarified his intent soon after his OP. He even stated he could not edit the original post.

Jesus, this thread is so freaking whacked in so many ways.

Why would any team want him?

I was at a Browns Backers Banquet about 16 years ago, that Hanford was at. He looked in Great Shape. Someone in the Audience noticed and asked if Hanford thought he could still play. He responded with, "If they needed me for 1 play, I could do that, but anything more, no way." Then he made the comment, "It's like the song says, I'm not as good as once was, but I'm as good once as I ever was." brownie

Not sure what the rules were on this post, lol

But man how nice would it be to have seen Grant Delpit able to help this secondary out though. What a bummer
