I kind of hope the Red Sox do what the announcers were suggesting and pitch Beckett on 3 days rest. It would be sort of a panick move, and we could still pitch Byrd against him. Even if we were to lose, we'd get CC and Carmona two games in a row, with full rest, going up against their 2nd and 3rd best guys.

Great Game boys.......now if Byrd can give us a solid game we should be able to hit Wakefield. Then CC is due for a big game even if it's against Beckett.

The guy just can't seem to win the big game.
My apologies to Jake, I was wrong and he proved it at the right time. I hope he can continue to keep his sinker low and in the strike zone. BTW, to all those fans that think this series is over because Jake won a big one at the Jake, you're are very wrong. This is a veteran Red Sox team with a lot of weapons and you just know this series is going to at least 6 games if not 7. JMHO

Well, this is a downer for me... I'm ecstatic that they won, but that means I can't watch any more postseason games. The two I missed in the ALCS were, you guessed it, wins. Stupid superstitions. Go Tribe!
I want the Cleveland Browns to be my pallbearers so they can let me down for the last time.

Imagine watching six innings of the most intense, bite-your-nails playoff baseball. OK, so you did that Monday night and saw the Indians hold on for dear life to take a 2-to-1 lead in this best-of-seven series against Boston. Now imagine doing it as Jacobs Field is bouncing on the corner of Ontario and Carnegie. With 44,406 crazy-loud Indians fan plugging in, the atmosphere was electric. "You can just feel it out there. It's outstanding. You hear it and it pumps you up," said closer Joe Borowski, whose 1-2-3 ninth inning left the Red Sox dazed after Cleveland's 4-2 win in Game 3. "The fans have been into it for the last month and a half." When Borowski came into the game, he heard 44,000-plus - most of them white knuckling another Borowski appearance - chanting his name. "LET'S GO JOE ... LET'S GO JOE ... LET'S GO JOE." "That was a first and hopefully it continues," Borowski said. "I'm sitting in the bullpen getting goose bumps. That's what you live for." Down in the bullpen, the best bullpen in baseball this postseason, Cleveland pitchers aren't talking about what to throw Manny Ramirez. They're not talking pitch location to David Ortiz. They're not checking out the blonde three rows away, or at least talking about it. "Most of the time we're talking about our fantasy football teams," said Jensen Lewis, the youngest relief pitcher on Cleveland's roster at 23 and a lifelong Indians fan. "We'll talk about just about everything except religion and politics. Those are hot-button topics." Relief pitchers have the most stressful job in baseball. They have to watch the game, on a good night, for six innings. Then they get thrown into a situation, usually a mess someone else created. And they're expected to get out of it without allowing a run. "You can't live and die with every pitch watching in the bullpen, or you'll go crazy out there," Borowski said. "We're in no-man's land out there." No one does it better than Rafael Betancourt. Ten years ago he was fielding ground balls, trying to make a living as a shortstop. Boston signed him, then released him. "I had to do something for my family," Betancourt said. "I wanted to make them proud." How's this for pride? He led the league in holding leads, had the second-lowest relief ERA at 1.47 and batters hit just .183 off him. He inherited 33 runners this season, and just three scored. "He's the best set-up man in the game, hands down," Borowski said. "We got here for a reason. Maybe we were timid in Game 1; I don't know. But starting in the second game, guys starting crossing T's and dotting I's. ... It's unfortunate that no one knows who these guys are in the bullpen because they've been doing it all year." Jake Westbrook, the No. 3, gave the Indians their best start of the series. He mesmerized Red Sox hitters before Jason Varitek touched him for a two-run homer in the seventh. So Lewis came on and struck out leadoff-hitter Dustin Pedroia to get out of the seventh. Lewis is walking on the field with more confidence. He's pitching like he belongs here. The kid spent most of this season in Akron striking out Joe Bag-of-donuts. Now he's getting Manny Ramirez and David Ortiz. "You don't look at the names on the back of the jerseys," said Lewis, who has to carry a pink camouflage bag of baseballs to the bullpen every night. "It looks like something a 4-year-old girl would take to preschool." They poke fun at each other, and then, when it's time to get ready, the laughing ends. Yes, watching Borowski is like watching your child walk a tightrope. He isn't the normal closer. His stuff isn't blowing hitters away. He's a contact pitcher. Hitters are going to put the ball in play. He didn't lead the league with 45 saves by accident. But he pitches. He is Cleveland. Borowski is unassuming, yet confident. He isn't a high-profile blazing closer. He's a lunch-pail closer. But he's not nervous. Even when runners get on. "Of course I'd like to go 1-2-3, but let's face it, it doesn't happen often," said Borowski, who had an uneventful ninth. "I'm not the nervous one. Everyone else can be as nervous as they want, but if you see me out there and I'm nervous, then, we've got problems." Perez, Lewis and Betancourt are really going to be key for this series and, hopefully, the World Series. Those guys all did really well during the season. Perez has struggled a bit this preseason, but we know what he can do.
I am unfamiliar with this feeling of optimism

The Bullpen has been lights out except for Perez's one bad outing.. Betancourt, Lewis, Perez, Joe Bo, and Mastny have all done a terrific job so far...
