If we are 4-1 now and win the five very winnable games, that would give us 9 wins. With 1 more win against the three teams mentioned would be 10. That is saying that at a minimum of 10 wins to get into the playoffs is a very attainable goal. There are other games and additional wins are great.

I’ve said a few times, but the games against LV, PHI, HOU, and at JAX (3 of them are home games) is massively important. Winning 3 of those gets us to 7 wins.
Then, you gotta take care of business against both NY teams ... that gets us to 9 wins.
If we beat Cincy this week, that’s 10 wins ... without taking into consideration us upsetting another team
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Jeudy is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Tillman is flanked out wide to the right. Judkins and Ford are split in the backfield as Flacco takes the snap ... Here we go."

I think the defense has benefited from playing 2 tougher teams, and I trust Stefanski to right the ship after the latest broadside, and go take care of business next week (he did it once already).
We gotta get healthy, though...

My fear is Baker playing well against the NY teams and Cincy and people thinking that means he's the guy, I am more interested in how he plays again BAL/PIT the second time and Tennesee and LV

Good point. But I don’t know about anyone else, but I would prefer NOT to see Baker play against PIttsburgh ever again haha

so the question becomes ... what about Tennessee? Somehow Tennessee always finds a way to win no matter what. That's something we haven't been able to do. I think the answer is obvious here.
Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

Right now, I have little confidence heading into the remainder of the season. We saw it in spurts in some of the earlier games, but saw it clearly with Pitt. Sell out against the run. Pack the box, apply pressure. Force Cleveland to beat you in the air, because we have not shown that we can do that. We are a one dimensional team, so take away that dimension.
Similar to the formula w Baltimore. For Lamar to be a passer. The difference is that Baker is not a runner like Lamar.
Who's left that I see as likely wins? Jets and Jax. The Giants gave Pitts a run for their money. As did Philly. That is worrisome to me. I do not see us beating Pitt or Balt, it does not look like we are close to being in the same class. Tenn and LV are likely losses as well, they are playing well.
Maybe this is from the complete-beatdown-hangover. But today, this is what I see.

Teams can evolve or devolve as the season progresses, but as of right now, I would say we should beat the Bengals, Jags, Jets, and Giants.
I think Baltimore, Pittsburgh, and Tennessee should beat us.
I see the games against the Raiders, Eagles, and Texans as toss-ups.
I will say I am worried about teams blitzing the hell out of us and our qb not being able to take advantage of that and the team losing confidence. That could change things.

That’s about where I stand with the remaining teams.
We should beat Cincy, but I’m pretty concerned about this game. They have the better QB and Gene Atkins back ... plus we’re banged up.
Raiders is a tough one ... an advantage for us is it’s a 1:00 kickoff
It’s too bad we don’t play the Eagles now because they’ve lost quite a few players for the next 2-3 weeks (Ertz, Sanders, Peters)

Honestly, I hope they do that. Baker is going to get the whole year, and I think Stefanski is watching how he develops over the course of the season. Can he improve, and can he be fixed. Stefanski seems to be a very strategic thinker. I think he is completely aware that the talent he has on his roster right now is very temporary. He's gotta do something about the QB position, and if fixing what is in place now doesn't pan out, I don't think he'll waste time in trying something else.

GC. If the Playoffs were today the Bills hold the tiebreaker over the Browns, (at first glance).
Do you know why? (anyone)
Here is why, In NFL tiebreakers when teams have the same record 5-2 in this case, and they did not play head to head, the first thing the NFL does in tiebreaking is
See how close your team was to winning it's own division. and the NFL only compares 2 teams at a time, not 3, if 3 teams are tied and any tie breaker separates them they go back to only looking at 2 teams for a tie breaker.
Later in one order of importance if still tied the NFL will look at common opponents and then record vs teams in your own conference.
So, In this case the 5-2 Blls and 5-2 Browns, with no head to head matchup, will tie break by their division record. The Browns 2-2 in the Afc North, with wins over Cincinnati and a loss each to Balt and Pitts.
The Bills have 3 wins in their division, twice over the Jets, and once over Miami,
no more tie breakers are necessary.
If they were, the next would be either common opponents W vs L, then wins against teams in your own conference, this case always the AFC.
Of Course the very first tie breaker is overall W-L record, in this case both 5-2.
Then head to head vs the other team, Then NFL leans toward the team better in it's "own" division, Then common opponents, head to common opponent. Then the NFl leans toward the team better in it's "own" conference Then they get into points and total touchdowns.
Can Deshaun Watson play better for the Browns, than Baker Mayfield would have? ... Now the Games count.

The Bills are a division leader though, so we aren't competing with them as of now.

Yeah, we’re basically competing against the following teams for 2 spots:
- Indianapolis (4-2) - Las Vegas (3-3) - New England (2-4) - Miami (3-3)

Baker will most likely get next season as well. There isn't anyone that will be available who will provide the same value and experience as Baker.

I think there are a couple if's involved, but you're not off-base.
I think Baker has to show SOMETHING this year. He's gotta start stringing together consistent performances, and show he can improve in his areas of weakness. IMO, he can still come out of this season with weaknesses, but if he shows he can start to 'get it', then he'll get a longer leash.
If he doesn't show up enough, I think you then start to get into the conversation about who you can get. To your point, there isn't anyone that we know is available that's an upgrade. But there have been rumblings about Ryan from ATL, and Dak's contract situation could mean there's an opening there. His injury certainly muddies the situation, but all reports seem to indicate his well on the road to recovery (will still be a long road, though).

Still too early in the season to limit that group to 4, but I see the point. I think your list should include the Steelers and Ravens, the Browns are still competing with them. And I'd add the Texans, Jets, Titans, Chargers, Broncos, Jaguars, and Bengals. Chiefs are probably in no matter what.

The only game that matters is this week.
LV & CLE are 2 young teams that are similar in their development. 2 young inconsistent QB's with big expectations from their fan bases.
I think KC, BAL, PIT & TN are the cream of the AFC. CLE, LV & BUF are three teams that are probably a year away from making the jump up to the next level. MIA, CIN & LAC are closer than many think to making the playoffs sooner than later.
That being said this is a dangerous thread and I can guarantee everyone of us have looked at the schedule and seen the possibility of 11-5.
It is the NFL and anything can happen. From what I have seen, I can not see us beating BAL or PIT. Hope I am wrong.

Important game this week if we're going to forecast a playoff run. LV and Indy are two teams "in the hunt". We've already punched Indy in the face, need to do the same to LV. That makes any tie with them a "gimme".

Cliche to say one game at a time.
However, I really believe that. The Bengals came very close to beating us. They were missing all kinds of players including Mixon. Their go too back. Burrow threw the ball all over the yard. We lost Odell for the year.
We have nine games to go. Anything can happen to us and our opponents.
We are not good enough to assume wins against any team. At the same time we are also very capable of "upsetting" teams.
The Raiders are next. They beat KC and NO.
Our defense must improve.
Sendejo can't even cover a guy who goes in motion. Have yet to see him make a competent play. Our linebackers are poor at read/react. We have gotten torched on defense.
The 1-0 mantra is a good one.

Raiders are streaky and are not a bad team - beating them is going to be tough. They could put 50 points up on us. Forget about how much I love their rookie WR Ruggs. Forget that a healthy Agholor is very good. Their TE is going to be unstoppable - we literally don't have a player who can cover him - the over under for him should be 120 yards and 2TDs. I don't think our D can improve enough! But I do think KS will absolutely have the entire team focused on 1-0 mantra and 'next man up'.
Sendejo can't even cover a guy even if the other team was to play in slow motion.

We'll have to come up with something new on D because what we did yesterday obviously didn't work. I take it one game at a time. Wouldn't it be great to beat the Raiders and go into the bye week 6-2? One can hope!!

I think it's very possible we win - I just think it's going to be tough and require a nearly flawless game and execution. I'd say we were favorites with Chubb and Teller - but not without them.
I think giving them soft stuff all day underneath - and hoping to keep them out of the end zone when they get inside the 20 might actually be our best hope, but man their TE is a red zone beast.

I'd like to have all our injured players back but it is what it is. We're not the only ones with injuries but it's hurt our O hard.

We are doing crazy good stuff in games and barely surviving. Is the game plan to decide who carries Sandejo week to week? He is repeatedly proven liability. I think Lass Vegas can torch us. tackle. Repeat. We need more pressure and have lots of D get off blocks. This stand and watch, then chase has to get better. Tighten cushion and hit them at the line much more. Chucky will be a chore.

A quick glance at the AFC standings tells me that beating the Raiders would put us in good shape, as we enter the second half of the season.

GC. With Odell going down, and... Chubb still unknown, and Hooper unknown, and a defense that can't stop a passer if you call in the Natl. guard.
With all of that,^ I think the Browns will be lucky to win 2 more games all year, ... against teams not named Giants or Jets.
So I think the Browns beat the Giants and Jets, maybe, they are on the road, ( that's 7 wins) and if the above injuries and pass defense don't get addressed or fixed,
they'll be lucky to win 2 more, that's 9 and it takes 10+ to get in the playoffs. (A 10-6 giants team missed the playoffs a couple years ago while a lower seahawks team got in that year)
Can Deshaun Watson play better for the Browns, than Baker Mayfield would have? ... Now the Games count.

Lucky to win 2 games?
Nah, the schedule is pretty easy. Jets and Giants both stink. Jax is terrible, too. Houston has won 1 game. Phlly has a ton of injuries and has a terrible record. We are favored vs Las Vegas.
I think we make the playoffs. After that, I don't have much hope, but being in the playoffs will be fun. It's a start.
