I’m wondering if we do try and get a speedy WR now. Even if it’s John Ross. We need that aspect of our team
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

That’s Hodge’s role. I’ll take him over Ross everyday

we desperately need 1-2 LB and it sounds like another WR with OBJ's knee injury.

Looked to me like it was meant to be a back shoulder.

Higgins helps. Not sure what changed it up. Exciting to me to watch this today. No lead is safe with this secondary and LB's.
Great notch by the way.

Someone else opined that Baker seems to like big targets. All QBs do of course, but for a shorter QB, there’s a comfort level the bigger wideouts can offer.

On that play, it sounds like Duty is looking for a fall guy to excuse a terrible throw. The throw was behind and right to the DB.
Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

The only thing that I would think could excuse the throw is something happened at launch (dude in Baker's face affecting release). That ball gets pushed a little further and it's money.

Houston has a problem.
They are a bad team going nowhere.
JJ. Watt is not happy. He is 31 and hates losing.
Houston will be under a new regime. Watt a vet signed a 6 year deal. He will be a FA 2022. His base salary for 2020 is $15.5 mil.
Let's make them an offer.
We need pressure from someone besides Myles.
JJ wants out. He wants to win games and be in the playoffs.
Hard to say what it would take. My guess is a second maybe a first. It is worth exploring.
It is the type of deal that gets done when core talent is on bad teams and the player is over 30.
JJ would help the Browns. We need constant pressure from the front so the back end is not exposed.
Food for thought.

And then he can play his brother 2x a year.

JJ is most likely a HOFer.
A great player who has had multiple injuries.
At his age and where he is in his career. He would perfect in a DE rotation. Keep him fresh. Let him rush.
He plays with heart and intensity. He would add an edge to the defense.
He would be a great add.
The question becomes. Would Berry pursue? And would the Texans be interested in moving him?
I think the Browns have to make some kind of move on defense.
They can not continue to give up the yards and points.
The trade deadline is close. We are 5-2 in the hunt.
We may not be able to upgrade all this year. But JJ has some years left that should produce.
We went after Clowney. Although younger than JJ. I would take JJ all day long over Clowney.

Offer them a 2nd and a 4th [/quote] It's a shame Bill O'Brien isn't still in charge. Based in his trade of an in the prime of his life Hopkins, we might have got JJ for a 7th rounder.

If we're looking for rotational help on the edge, Clay III is still out there. Wouldn't cost you any draft picks either.

https://texanswire.usatoday.com/2020/10/07/jack-easterby-texans-interim-gm/A new head coach and a new GM will be hired.
Hard to say if they will make this kind of trade without a new hire in place?
I don't know how they will handle the interim time or who has the real power.
My guess is as an organization given their situation they would want to accumulate picks.

(Unless he was injured or something, I don’t recall) He had 8 sacks in 13 games last year at the age of 33. Considering the genes in that family, and fact that his father played to age 40, I would guess he still has some gas in the tank. Probably wants something closer to his family in Cali would be more likely why he didn't sign, IMO.

Houston will be under a new regime. Watt a vet signed a 6 year deal. He will be a FA 2022. His base salary for 2020 is $15.5 mil. Watt is nearing the end of his career and one look at his "injury history" should drive the point home that Watt may not be a reliable option or a wise decision by the Browns.
Watt's injury
I'm not going to pretend to know what kind of a trade or who the Browns might trade for that would be considered "a wise decision"...but a trade for an often injured veteran warrior like Watt does carry a degree of risk...
...I would not risk a lot of "future capital" (aka draft picks) to take Watt's contract off of the Texan's hands.

At 31 with his history of injury there is risk.
At the same time he is healthy now.
If he was used in rotation. He could add a lot.
It would all depend on how or if a deal could happen.
