Everson Griffin is also available I believe I wouldn’t want anyone off that garbage Cowboy defense.

If we're looking for rotational help on the edge, Clay III is still out there. Wouldn't cost you any draft picks either.

Desmond King for a 4th sounds good to me. link He's in the last year of his deal and Chris Harris Jr should be coming off IR soon, so while the trade compensation is probably low it might not be completely outlandish. He had been "complaining" about playing time before Harris got hurt. He could send Sendejo to the bench at FS this season and play in the slot once Delpit is back going forward if we can work out a deal.

There are a bunch of pretty good safeties on some of these bottom of the barrel teams. I would assume we are checking in on them.

Not sure if he will be available or not, but this scenario makes the most sense of all the ones I have seen presented thus far.

Man, I feel like we need to make a move on a LB or secondary help. I would love to see another Matthews in Brown and Orange!

Man, I would have given that up for him. It seems Berry has been quiet lately when it comes to the trade deadline.

J/C - I loved King coming out of Iowa. He was a CB but dropped due to concerns about his speed. He has played really well on that San Diego defense so I've no idea why they would want to get rid (I assume a scheme fit) but as a ball hawk type of safety with range, I'd send a 4 in a heartbeat. He was projected as a 1-2 round pick during that college season IIRC. A proper football player.

He would be a great addition but I would rather go FS first ...

Williams, if he’s traded, would be at least a first round pick going to the Jets. If we’re trading a first round pick it better be for someone who can cover.

I am not saying we absolutely wouldn't trade a #1 pick, but Berry and crew are still the same guys who love draft picks.

The guy has done nothing to justify getting a 1st round pick in a trade. There's a reason he is on the trade block.

Dunlap is on the block. Assuming he can be had for next to nothing... thoughts?

I've never known the Bengals to lose a trade.
I've also never known the Bengals to play nice with us.
Berry is also very big on value.
I don't think anything happens here, for us at least.

Dunlap is old, but I'm pretty sure he's still got gas in the tank. I'm assuming we rotate him with Vernon to play opposite Garrett, and are no worse for wear with little investment. Long-term, I doubt he'd be a worse move than sticking with Vernon (I have soured on him bad this year).

Vernon has had little impact for us thus far. As a pass rusher he seems to just run into the OT and stick right there.
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

Dunlap's contract situation - https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/cincinnati-bengals/carlos-dunlap-6562/2020 - $7,800,000 2021 - $10,250,000 2022 - UFA Since we've already played the Bengals twice, I'd imagine they wouldn't care about trading with us for the rest of this year. As for next year, assuming he wouldn't cut him in the offseason, I wonder if they'd want to avoid playing him twice in 2021. His best days are behind him, so I don't think they'd care. Also, he's played in 4 games this year. I'm not sure what caused him to miss the games.

If the price is right McKinley is definitely worth trading for. He’s not even 25 yet and is an above-average contributor. He’s a free agent after the season but at his age he’s the type of player you would want to re-sign.

I believe Delpit is the FS of the future. I can't see them wasting assets to acquire his back-up at this point.

I thought it was healed in ~12 months, but you're not 'right' until 24.

He signed a $60 million contract w/the Browns in 2017. He has a base salary of $10 million this year and $12 million next year. He gets another $2.5 million each year as a signing bonus. That is very expensive for the least valuable position on the OL. He is currently 43rd of all guards by PFF and the Giants are rumored to be interested in trading him. Meanwhile, Teller is much cheaper, younger, and is currently ranked as the #1 overall guard by PFF. Additionally, it's not like Zeitler has made the Giants good. Their OL is poor and the Giants freaking stink.

I like anything Dline. Delpit is definitely the FS of the future *IF* he can return to form; that is unfortunately an outside shot at this point. Trading for someone that upgrades the position and offers good competition for Delpit upon his return is Win-Win. It also allows Delpit to take a little more time to get back to normal AND gives us depth and the flexibility to put more than one ball hawk on the field at once, especially if whomever we get is a hitter that has no fear of flipping to the SS role.
Browns is the Browns
... there goes Joe Thomas, the best there ever was in this game.

I wouldn't mind getting even an aging vet to just come in for a year or two until Delpit is back to 100%. Trouble is, there's nobody available that's worth picking up the phone.

If Delpit’s is a year injury then he should be back at the end of training camp. Or the team can do what the Ravens did with Terrell Suggs and have him return within the same season. Just feed him only HGH and deer antler spray.

Dunlap is on the block. Assuming he can be had for next to nothing... thoughts? Veteran defensive end Carlos Dunlap has been traded to the Seattle Seahawks for offensive lineman B.J. Finney and a seventh-round pick in the 2021 NFL draft, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter on Wednesday.

Even so, I don't think we're getting back from Vernon what we are paying him either, and that's when he actually sees the field.
