“To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public.”
This brings to mind a "Keegan Michael Keye" character from the show "MAD" tv. from 2001 ish,
I don't remember the context but he would run around screaming that line,
and I'm not going to click on the link but if, how can a monkey make a product; it's a crazy world, are there not enough people around to find workers.
Too bad PETA wasn't around back in the day before tractors, trucks, automobiles, trains, subways, aircraft, etc weren't around. Imagine what they would have said about oxen and horses having to plow fields or mules, donkeys, and horses being used for transportation?
I'm not PETA crazy, but I hate all forms of animal abuse. We eat animals, yes, but we don't have to be cruel to those animals or not give them some quality of life before we eat them. Zoos and conservation is usually a good thing, but side shows that mistreat animals are not. Forcing animals to fight for sport is disgusting. Racing animals, horses or dogs, is ok until the abuse and drugging comes into play... All around us species are going extinct and the god fearing crowd thinks that our dominion over animals makes us entitled to do whatever we want to these creatures... That is about as wrong as it gets IMHO. Animals feel things much the same as we do. They care for and protect their young, they mourn loss, they bleed and feel pain, they get scared and cry, they show happiness and sadness... They also love and that one emotion scored pretty big with Jesus and the men who wrote the bible.
guess im one of the few who actually likes PETA. oh well.

They are not good for numerous reasons.
For example they run high kill shelters. The majority of pets turned over to them are euthanized. Most of them within 24 hours. They don't get much of a chance to be adopted. PETA calls it mercy killings. It's sick and sad for any animal lover.

I like that they protect animals, I just think they can get a bit overzealous at times. I really like and support the ASPCA but those commercials kill me. They are sad and jerk at heart strings BUT I don't want to see them late at night right before bed... again and again.
Like most human groups built on a passion for something, these groups can all go too far at times. But that does not diminish the value of their work.
