Militia leader Stewart Rhodes says that his group will be at polling locations and is ready to kill Democrats
Oath Keepers militia leader Stewart Rhodes said members of his militia will be at polling locations on Election Day to “protect” Trump voters during an appearance on far-right conspiracy theorist Alex Jones’ program.
After making that claim, Rhodes made a number of unhinged statements, including saying Oath Keepers would follow directives from President Donald Trump to take members of the “deep state” into custody and “do what we have to do,” that Trump should invoke the Insurrection Act before the election, that Oath Keepers will “be in range” of Washington D.C., to stop a “Benghazi-style” attack on the White House on election night, and that a war will have to be fought against Democrats on the West Coast who are “bought” by the Chinese government. Rhodes also hyped the possibility of a second civil war where his “battle-hardened” supporters kill the “street soldiers” and “command and control” of “the radical left.” He later claimed the United States is already in a civil war because “you have sitting politicians who are part of the enemy’s ranks.”
Disturbingly, Rhodes telegraphed how he will interpret election results, saying that he would consider a win by Democratic nominee Joe Biden illegitimate and evidence the election had been stolen, presaging how he and his militia might react to that outcome.
Rhodes’ Oath Keepers militia, which is comprised of “former law enforcement officials and military veterans,” is described by the Southern Poverty Law Center as “one of the largest radical antigovernment groups in the U.S. today.” The Los Angeles Times reported Rhodes has indicated that some Oath Keepers “have signed up as poll watchers, while others plan to monitor the election armed and ‘undercover,’ drawing their weapons if needed.”
During an October 27 appearance on The Alex Jones Show, Rhodes said members of his militia are going to “stand up and protect people on Election Day” at the polls because opponents of Trump will be supposedly “coercing and threatening” his supporters as part of an effort by Democrats to steal the election.
Discussing the “coming civil war,” Rhodes said Trump should “declassify all the secrets” to expose the “deep state” and that then his group will “go and put it to them, and take them into custody and do what we have to do.”
Rhodes said Trump should invoke the Insurrection Act before the election, when “he was the clear, undisputed president of the United States,” in order to stay in power.
Rhodes said his group is “concerned about a Benghazi-style attack” on election night against the White House and that some of his “best men” will be “posted outside of D.C.” and “within range.” He said he does not trust the military because a “stand down order” could be issued that allows the attack to happen. Rhodes said such an attack could result in “the antifa flag or communist flag flying over the White House.”
Jones then raised the prospect of up to 20,000 antifa supporters storming the White House on the night of the election and predicted that would cause the Secret Service to “run out of bullets.” Rhodes said “that’s what we’re concerned about,” claiming the people who would plan an attack on the White House “have a lot of jihadists who are well-trained and experienced in warfare.”
Rhodes said that “bought” Democrats and “leftists” on the West Coast are participants in a proxy war being waged by China against the U.S., saying, “That’s who we are fighting right now on the streets.” (Rhodes and other Oath Keeper supporters have showed up at protests against police brutality carrying weapons.) Rhodes then said, “You got to defeat them in warfare, and then you got to figure out, it’s kind of like with the Founding Fathers dealing with the loyalists, what do you do with these people?”
After Jones asked him about “military rules of engagement,” Rhodes predicted a possible civil war between the right and left and said that “our side will not just go and fight their street soldiers; we will go for their command and control also” because “that’s a smart thing to do in warfare. That’s what’s going to happen.”
Rhodes then said, “We’ve had recent discussions with guys that are special warfare veterans and also current serving. They’re paying very much attention to what’s going on and quite a few of them are waking up. And so it’s not going to be an easy fight for the radical left. They’re going to get swamped with very competent, battle-hardened veterans on our side.”
Rhodes declared that there is already a civil war in the U.S., “because you have sitting politicians who are part of the enemy’s ranks,” adding that “we have 14 million veterans, I believe, at least, a massive pool of combat veterans who are awake and aware.”
Ahead of Election Day, there is mounting concern that firearms will be brought to voting locations and used to intimidate voters. On October 27, a Republican-appointed Michigan judge struck down a directive that prohibited firearms from being openly carried at polling sites in that state after several pro-gun groups filed a lawsuit. Just six states and Washington, D.C., have total bans of firearms at voting locations.
Texas governor limits election drop boxes to one per county in sprawling state
Texas Gov. Greg Abbott issued a proclamation Thursday limiting the amount of drop-off locations for mail-in ballots to one site per county.
The move significantly affects the Democratic stronghold of Harris County, which is the state's largest county by population -- one of the most populous in the country -- and covers a massive area. It must now reduce its 12 drop-off locations down to one starting on Friday, according to Elizabeth Lewis, spokeswoman for the Harris County Clerk's Office. Travis County, which includes the reliably Democratic city of Austin, must limit its four drop-off locations to one.
Other large counties -- like Tarrant, Dallas and El Paso County -- only had one drop-off location already in place. The Republican governor said in a statement the order was made to enhance ballot security. It also allows poll watchers to observe the in-person delivery of mail-in ballots by voters, but critics say it could severely limit access for many voters.
"The State of Texas has a duty to voters to maintain the integrity of our elections," Abbott said. "As we work to preserve Texans' ability to vote during the COVID-19 pandemic, we must take extra care to strengthen ballot security protocols throughout the state. These enhanced security protocols will ensure greater transparency and will help stop attempts at illegal voting."
The decision has already drawn fire from Texas Democrats. Judge Lina Hidalgo, the top elected official in Harris County, told CNN's Chris Cuomo on "PrimeTime" Thursday evening, "There is no reason for this decision to limit us to one drop-off location other than voter suppression." Calling the drop-off sites "secure" and "safe," Hidalgo urged Texas residents to consider, "If these leaders truly are doing right by you, why are they so afraid of you voting?"
"I'm reminding our residents here in Harris County, our citizens, that we are not to be intimidated. That this is a time to participate, and, yes, it's going to be harder and, yes, they're trying to confuse and they're trying to suppress the vote, but for that very reason, we need to show everyone who's watching that we're going to participate because it's about democracy."
The state's Democratic party chair, Gilberto Hinojosa, labeled the step a "blatant voter suppression tactic" in a press release. The group Let America Vote also blasted the move.
"The governor is making it harder for people to vote in the middle of a global pandemic that has claimed the lives of over 16,000 Texans," the group said in a statement. "It is a shameful, blatant act of voter suppression that will disproportionately impact the large number of Black and Latinx voters in Texas' biggest counties."
Former Democratic presidential candidate and Texas native Julian Castro similarly cast Abbott's proclamation as an effort to make voting "harder for fellow Texans." The Republican governor, he tweeted, "knows how angry Texans are with Trump's failure, (Republican Sen. John) Cornyn's failure and his own to keep Texans safe and our people working."
In July, Abbott issued an order expanding the amount of time for early voting by six days and for hand-delivering mail-in ballots out of safety concerns due to the pandemic.
Harris County Clerk Chris Hollins said in a statement that Abbott was going back on his word with the proclamation, having expanded access to voting with that earlier order. "Going back on his word at this point harms voters and will result in widespread confusion and voter suppression. Many mail ballots have already been dropped off by voters across Harris County, and multiple drop-off locations have been advertised for weeks," Hollins said.
"Our office is more than willing to accommodate poll watchers at mail ballot drop-off locations. But to force hundreds of thousands of seniors and voters with disabilities to use a single drop-off location in a county that stretches over nearly 2,000 square miles is prejudicial and dangerous."
A pair of recent court rulings -- one in favor of age limits for no-excuse mail voting and one against the sending of mail-in ballot applications to residents in Harris County -- have enraged Texas Democrats and voting rights activists.
Texas has been traditionally Republican over the last several decades, but Democrats think it is in play in the November election. Multiple polls have found a tight race between President Donald Trump and former Vice President Joe Biden in the Lone Star State, with several indicating the candidates were separated by only 1 point in July. Abbott's stated concerns about "attempts at illegal voting" in Texas come as the President continues to lean into a conspiratorial message around the US voting process and particularly mail-in voting.
While rare instances of voter fraud from mail-in ballots do occur, it is nowhere near a widespread problem in the US election system.
In fact, mail ballot fraud is exceedingly rare in part because states have systems and processes in place to prevent forgery, theft and voter fraud. These systems would apply to both absentee ballots and mail-in ballots for in-state voters.
The way conservatives talk about liberals and Dems, one can’t help but come away with the thought that they don’t view us as Americans.
It bares similarities to how we dehumanize our enemies in the Middle East.

It's my understanding, As the one in charge of the election, Frank Larose, explained on my local radio some 5-6 weeks ago, Ohio is allowed to open the envelopes of mail in ballots previous, but still not permited to begin counting them until election day.

Twitter briefly suspended the account of U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Commissioner Mark Morgan on Wednesday after he touted the success of the wall along the southern border.
“We took enforcement action on the tweet…but the decision was reversed following an appeal by the account owner and further evaluation from our team,” a Twitter spokesperson told Fox News.
The Federalist first reported the that Morgan's account was suspended, citing “screenshots shared exclusively" with the organization that indicated Twitter temporarily locked Morgan’s account for violating its “hateful conduct” policy by tweeting that the border wall helps stop “gang members, murderers, sexual predators, and drugs” from entering the United States.

“It’s fact, walls work,” Morgan wrote, according to the screenshots.
“You may not promote violence against, threaten, or harass other people on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, religious affiliation, age, disability, or serious disease,” Twitter initially told Morgan, according to The Federalist.
“In recent weeks, the commissioner had been free to publish content on the site touting the accomplishments of border agents keeping America safe. It’s not clear what has recently changed in Twitter’s algorithm or policing that resulted in this post’s shutdown of his account when other similar posts went unblocked,” Federalist reporter Tristan Justice wrote.
As of Thursday afternoon, Morgan’s account was unlocked. All account holders have access to a dedicated appeals process and Morgan’s account was unlocked when he appealed the decision.

Ted Cruz, R-Texas, ripped into Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey during a hearing with tech titans, accusing him and his social media platform of improperly censoring reporting that reflected poorly on Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden, asking at one point, "Who the hell elected you?"
The exchange came as Republicans over the last several weeks have decried Twitter's actions to lock the New York Post's Twitter account, and censor links to the outlet's stories, on Biden's son, Hunter, and his overseas business dealings.
Dorsey claimed that his policies are “making sure that more voices on the platform are possible,” which is done by silencing abuse and harassment. At one point during the hearing, he struggled to name a single liberal person or entity that has been censored by the platform that frequently silences conservatives.

Dr. Robert Epstein appeared on Tucker Carlson Tonight to discuss the 2020 election and the influence that the Silicon Valley Masters of the Universe have over voters. According to Epstein, Google and other companies could shift 15 million votes in the upcoming election, “without leaving a paper trail for authorities to trace.”
Dr. Robert Epstein, the senior research psychologist at the American Institute for Behavioral Research and Technology, appeared on Tucker Carlson Tonight recently where he gave some insight into the work he and his team have been doing surrounding the 2020 election and specifically the effect that the Silicon Valley titans have on voting.
Carlson asked Epstein: “What do you think Big Tech’s interference will do to the election results?” To which Epstein replied: “Based on the data that we’re collecting, I would say that if what we’re seeing is present nationwide they are probably shifting this year in this election about 15 million votes without anyone’s awareness, except for what I’m doing, without leaving a paper trail for authorities to trace.”
Epstein added: “They’re doing it with bias in search results which basically no one can see, it’d be very tough to see, we’ve been measuring that now with about 600 field agents in the swing states and just based on the first 150,000 searches that we’ve looked at, and that’s about 1.5 million search results and over a million web pages, we’re finding very substantial pro-liberal bias in all ten or at least nine out of ten search results on the first page of Google search results, not on Bing or Yahoo though. And we’re seeing that bias in every single demographic group, in fact in one report we generated recently we saw more liberal bias in Google content going to conservatives than going to liberals.”
Epstein’s latest comments add more context to an interview he gave on Breitbart News Today with host and Breitbart News Editor-in-Chief Alex Marlow in July where he said:
People don’t understand how big this threat is, you mentioned that leak, that video that you exposed which was quite astonishing. One of the things that was said there by one of their top executives is ‘we’re going to use every means at our disposal, all of Google’s power to make sure Trump isn’t re-elected’ so if they’re using every single means at their disposal, then they’re using all of the techniques that I’ve discovered and probably more that I haven’t discovered yet. That’s enough to shift roughly ten percent of the voting population of the United States with no one knowing they’re being manipulated and no paper trail for authorities to trace.
