Pro Bowl voting underway
10.16.2007
The time has come once again to make your voice heard and support your favorite Cleveland Browns players.

Voting for the 2008 Pro Bowl is underway at NFL.com.

Pro Bowl voting is your chance to support the best Browns players and help send them to Honolulu on Feb. 10 for the annual gathering of the greatest talent in the game.

Here are a few Pro Bowl-worthy notes to keep in mind:

Quarterback Derek Anderson ranks second in the AFC in touchdown passes (14) and third in passing yards (1,496). His passer rating (88.9) is good enough for sixth in the conference.

Receiver Braylon Edwards ranks third in the AFC in receiving yards (552) and tied for second in touchdown receptions (7). His yards-per-catch average ranks first in the conference (min. 15 receptions).
Among tight ends, Kellen Winslow ranks third in the AFC in receptions (29) and second in receiving yards (506).
The Browns' offensive line featuring Joe Thomas, Eric Steinbach, Hank Fraley, Seth McKinney, and Kevin Shaffer has helped the Browns rank sixth in the conference in yards per game (354.5) and third in points per game (27.8). Meanwhile, the club has allowed only 5 sacks in the team's last five games.
Return specialist Joshua Cribbs ranks first in the AFC in kick return yards (808) and is second in the conference in kick return average at 31.1 (min. 15 returns). He's also one of six players in the AFC to have brought a kick back for a score this season.
Cornerback Leigh Bodden ranks tied for third in the AFC with 3 interceptions.
Make sure to pack your ballot with all of your Cleveland Browns. The entire Browns ballot is as follows:

Quarterback: Anderson
Running back: Jamal Lewis
Wide receiver: Edwards and Joe Jurevicius
Fullback: Lawrence Vickers
Tight end: Winslow
Tackle: Shaffer and Thomas
Guard: McKinney and Steinbach
Center: Fraley
Defensive end: Orpheus Roye and Robaire Smith
Defensive tackle: Ethan Kelley
Outside linebacker: Willie McGinest and Kamerion Wimbley
Inside linebacker: Andra Davis and D'Qwell Jackson
Cornerback: Leigh Bodden and Eric Wright
Strong safety: Sean Jones
Free safety: Brodney Pool
Kicker: Phil Dawson
Punter: Dave Zastudil
Kick returner: Joshua Cribbs
Special teamer: Kris Griffin

To date I believe Cribbs deserves a vote. The oline play has been great, but I don't know who should get a vote so I'll go ith the team captain Fraley. Edwards and Winslow have earned votes also in my opinion.

That's four guys that I feel are worthy of being considered. That's three more than last year (Cribbs).

We don't have anyone on the ballot in most positions including TE which I think is an oversight.

Deserving or not I voted for every Brown I could find.

What if I don't vote like a homer, and vote based on performance as it really should be.

Look to the right of the NFC list, there's a scrollbar.

Well then you wouldn't be doing what every other NFL fan does. So I make it fair and vote for every Brown possible.

I'm a homer... but voted on Most of the Browns I thought deserved to be there (so not many votes on Defense). but living in Houston I voted for a few Houston guys as well... could care less about the rest of the teams.

Do you guys think the fact that Winslow name has to be scrolled to seen is going to hurt him? I think it does.

It's a possibility. But what even hurts him more is the fact that Gonzalez and Gates are in the AFC.

Don't forget that Dallas Clark is also in the AFC. Too many of the good tight ends are in the AFC.

I think BEazy, K2, and possibly DA are the only candidates on the team---maybe some OL too. But I see no reason to nominate anyone on our Defense for this honor.

I wish to wash my Irish wristwatch......
