Maybe we should take a flyer and offer them a 6th for Joejuan Williams to see if he can play FS.
He;s gotta be better than Sendejo, right?

I have no explanation for anything having to do with Sendejo at this point.
The Patriots have been so bad at drafting the last several years that I don’t want any of their guys. Especially a second round pick that can’t get on the field after their whole defense opted out.

Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't do the trade either. Just coming up with someone on their rookie deal that was replaced in this year's draft.
To be fair, the Pats front 7 opted out, their secondary is still pretty strong ( I guess you could count P Chung but he's been washed up for a minute)
Correction, it was mostly offensive guys
and Donta Hightower.

My understanding is, trade talks are not building for #Browns TE David Njoku, as of this morning. Deadline is 4pm today.

Any chance trade talks are building up for Sendejo?
Nothing major, of course. Something along the lines of 4 red sour patch kids for 2 greens and Sendejo.

No surprise. I wouldn’t think he’d fetch much
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

No surprise. I wouldn’t think he’d fetch much And teams are spooked by the fifth year option. If he gets injured it becomes fully guaranteed.

Top 5 pick maybe, but behind jets and jags, which means they take a flier on Trey Lance or Zach Wilson because Trevor and Fields will be gone before their pick.

Hence the "Imagine" and "Somehow", they're only separated by 2 games, and haven't even played each other yet. Then add in that it is 2020 and all that has gone on this year, and I won't rule out any scenario.

Not to mention the Jags. They can't win and it isn't even cold yet.
But the Pats may still end up in the top 10. Maybe that's what all the trading of Gilmore is about. To try to get a 2nd 1st round pick in case they can package to move up and grab a QB.
Thier last 2 top 5 picks were Drew Bledsoe and Willie McGinnest in the mid 90's.

Who’d be in line for picks 1-2 right now? Jets and Jags?
If I were Fields or Lawrence, those would be literally the last two franchises I’d want

The Jets are a big market and the Jags have glorious weather and a super friendly income tax I'd go to Jax myself. A penny saved... Houston and the Giants also have 1 win. And like 7 teams have 2 wins. If Houston continues to bomb, they will look to trade down with a new regime, a franchise QB and an expensive LT already in place.

Huh, just realized there isn't a single defensive player I'd even consider in the top 5.
Closest is Parsons and he's an off-ball LB who opted out of the year...
Anyway...back to trades...

I like Parsons as well. He has a few character concerns, but he’s a top 10 type pick.
I thought Shaun Wade would be a top guy, but he’s not played elite yet

Dear NFL,
We need some trades today to distract us from other things that are happening.
Thank you,

Serious rumbling from actual reporters of Stephon Gilmore popping up now...
stay tuned Asking price is a first and a player. That is not a steep price for a player that won DPOY last year. He's 30 and under contract for only one more year. I'm going to go way out on a limb and say that it isn't the Browns trading for him. I heard the new team will have to pay him $20 million plus. I would not be in favor of giving up a first, a player, and then having that contract on the books.

Still think I would be at least making the phone call about CJ Mosely. At 17 million a year he ranks as the 4th highest paid. I think since he opted out this year he still has 4 years on his contract. Problem is since he opted out, the Jets have no real motivation for trading him other than being unhappy with the return on there investment. He certainly is not going to contribute to any wins that would cause them to miss out on the number 1 overall. Although I will admit to not knowing the details of linebacker positions and responsibilities etc.

Are guys who opted allowed to return? No. The deadline for making an all-or-nothing decision arrives on August 1, at 5:00 p.m. ET. Written notice “must be received” by the team before that moment; once notice is received as to a given player, the opt out becomes irrevocable. Thus, unlike a holdout (which can end at any time), the player who opts out cannot play at all in 2020. https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/20...ation-loophole/

What's this junk about Julio Jones and Minnesota?
Any decent source besides Ian Rappoport?
He's been throwing all kinds of junk out the last 30 minutes...I don't trust it.

Not yet. It seems sketchy. Hence asking if anyone else heard something from someone decent.

Lost a lot of faith in Berry. Nothing says we have no intention on winning this year then not even attempting to upgrade defense

I would have liked to see something done to improve the team but if the deal wasn't there to be made then so be it.

I just didn't want to overpay on anyone. This team is not ready. I'm ok without trading although I think we should have gone after a Safety, Alexander would have been a big shot in the arm for our LB's and he was traded for a 5th and a player, Desmond king went for a 6th rounder, that would not have been overspending. But I want to trust this FO who has so far done ok IMO ...

Lost a lot of faith in Berry. Nothing says we have no intention on winning this year then not even attempting to upgrade defense 1. No one knows if we didn't attempt a trade. I'm sure we explored. 2. I'll take the long view approach and say we still have many holes to fill on defense, maybe QB, the WRs and their contracts (especially when there are more worthy players to extend after a COVID year), and Berry will still reform this roster as he sees fit. Sorry, but I don't think the Browns are going far in the playoffs, once we make them. Change is still abound. Just not right now.

Only thing I saw from the entire league was Miami and a couple backups for pick position swaps or some such nonsense.
Guess no one was big on taking on any expiring contracts. Meh...

It would've been nice to see us be opportunistic and shorten the list of things to do this coming offseason.
Oh well. I wasn't expecting us to significantly change our arrow for this season, regardless if we made move(s) or not.
There is no level of sucking we haven't seen; in fact, I'm pretty sure we hold the patents on a few levels of sucking NOBODY had seen until the past few years.
