Fulton County was a landslide for Biden. Over 70%

Atlanta's demographics are changing, but the Fulton Co results are hardly some massive revelations compared to prior elections.

Fulton County is urban Atlanta. Of course it's going to be a landslide for Biden.

Honest question. At least in Ohio (I would imagine everywhere else?) the senate votes and house votes are on the same ballot.

Yet, we're told they are still counting the ballots for president, but not the house or senate? How does that work?

Not sure. I wasn't paying attention to which states were having counting 'issues' were the same or not with where the Senate and House races were occuring.

I assume, since many of those races were very lopsided, that they were able to be called sooner.

There is no level of sucking we haven't seen; in fact, I'm pretty sure we hold the patents on a few levels of sucking NOBODY had seen until the past few years.

They are...

But in many cases the house seats are so gerrymandered that it is very obvious who won each individual district -- while the presidential race in those states might still be up for grabs.

The NC/AZ senate races are still uncalled (though republicans should win both) -- I think most have called AZ for Mark Kelly now (he's running about a 1.5 points better than Biden -- so his victory is more secure than Biden's).

And this is why I clown people who constantly whine about the “liberal” media.

These people don’t give a damn about that. They never did. It’s always been about confirmation bias.

Any media that isn’t riding trump or confirming their right wing beliefs is ‘liberal’ or mainstream.

To add to that -- it seems like a very bad thing that there are 435 house races in this country, and I could tell you which party would win 370 of them before the candidates were even announced.

Biden isn't the right voice for the Dems that is for sure.

Nobody they have is right, same with republicans. Now there was a chance with Mayor Pete but you guys screwed him over.

I think CNN and Fox have been alright. However, as I speak CNN is doing their typical way pro lib stuff. But honestly, you can only run so many scenarios before it gets dry (which it has).

Apparently they're not doing alright...

Again, someone needs to teach these states how to tie their shoe laces. Florida is the model everyone needs to be following.

I'm a huge Pete and Tulsi fan.

And let's be real--Biden will likely be a one term president. He is so old and while I don't buy in to the "Biden has dementia!" stuff, he's obviously not as as quick and healthy as someone younger. You can tell age is catching up to him.

If Biden wins, 2024 is going to be very interesting. I just hope to God that Kamala isn't the candidate that makes it out.

If mayor Pete can become a little more charismatic I think he would be someone Dems could be excited about. It just sucks that this year the DNC basically said "who is the most bland, boring, moderate, and least intimidating candidate we can throw out there against Trump."

And I completely agree with you. Get some new blood in the white house. There are a lot of decent and unique candidates on both sides that I think the country could (somewhat) get behind. Trump is just so freaking divisive and Biden is so freaking bland.

It was the Republican state legislatures that forbid PA/MI/WI from counting ballots before the date of the election....

I agree - they should follow Florida and Ohio (also republican) and allow mail ballots to be counted earlier.

I'd actually advocate for a recount of the entire election, every state. Every single vote being audited to ensure its legal.

It was a complete embarrassment, and there are people actually believing in this man and supporting him. It’s unbelievable. I’ve lost so much hope for this country.

I agree. I usually vote blue but actually cast a few red on Ohio ballot. But that was so sad and is probably the lowest moment of a president in modern day USA (INCLUDING watergate).

I hope republicans in office grow a spine and just take a stand. Acknowledge the the seat of the president is going to democrats, enjoy the fact that republicans made up ground in the house and held the senate (most likely), and give Trump the same treatment that Dems gave Hillary. Just distance yourself from him.

I’m not trying to be ignorant or partisan, but I don’t know how anyone could listen to that and be proud or excited.

For the love of God please put forward a few respectable candidates in 2024.

I haven’t voted for a Democratic president since Bill Clinton. I despise the two crappy parties, so I vote 3rd party. This year I voted Democrats all the way, because I am appalled that anyone of any party can back this person. I’m absolutely amazed at his cult following, and how they sheepishly follow his madness.

what an embarrassment.

Since there's clearly not gonna be a peaceful transition of power, i really hope we get to see the military drag trump out of office on live TV.

since thats clearly where we're headed.

That would lead to civil war though. I've met some who just want to skip right to that and stop fooling around. They say our side has the guns.

I love chaos and on surface level I think it’d cool to live through such a significant moment (Trump getting physically removed by military).

But when I sit down and be logical, I just really hope he gives the seat of the president up peacefully and just wanders off. As ridiculous as it sounds, if Trump allows a peaceful transition of power, it would actually be a step forward for our country and the legitimacy of our political system.

people been waiting for trump to act presidential for 4 years now. it hasn't happened. it WONT happen. he just made that clear as day with his speech.

I just want someone in the seat of President I could respect and who I think could represent the USA. I was young for George W, and my main memories were of his speech gaffs, but he seemed like a dude I could stand behind. [censored], Obama, McCain, and Romney (no policies taken in to account) were all guys that I felt I could rally behind if [censored] hit the fan. Even Bernie.

2016 was a nightmare and I voted 3rd party because I couldn’t bring myself to vote for Hillary or Trump. The president is essentially a figurehead with veto power and a salesman in foreign relations. I just want someone in the seat who isn’t an embarrassment.

Tragically trump cares for neither the country or our political system. trump cares for trump. It’s been on display his entire life. This chapter of his story has unfortunately included the rest of us.

Does anyone know what's going on in Pennsylvania?

The Trump lawyers have filed a law suit in order to have republican observers to watch vote counting. The lawsuit needed to be filed because Democrats were trying to block this. Anyone see a problem with that?

After the judge heard the lawsuit he agreed with the Trump lawyers that what was taking place was illegal. That there should be observers within 6 feet. Upon hearing this the Democrats appealed?

Wait. What? Why? Doesn't anyone see a problem with them not wanting people to watch? The only reason you don't want someone to watch is if you're hiding something.

Seriously. I don't care if you're a republican or Democrat. It's a bad look when the Pennsylvania Democrats don't want observers. I think both parties should have observers. To think otherwise is against transparency and is un-American.

because its stupid and baseless.

if the democrats were trying to steal an election, you'd think they would've taken the senate, as well. they didn't, they took L's all over the place.

people act like its ONLY trump's name on the ballot. and the fact that you're sitting here trying to justify this clown's position is pathetic.

Open your wallet...

Many States have a 0.5 percent threshold to initiate a recount.

The standard that was set By statute before was 10 feet and it was changed to 6 feet . There are observers from both parties. Of course with COVID-19 cases topping 120k today caution is warranted.

I'll break this down state by state for my reasoning. I could be totally off but I'm jut comparing data from 2020 to 2016 as provided by the NYT election pages.
------------------
PA

Biden's path in PA seems daunting, but Pittsburgh has a fair amount remaining. Pittsburgh still has to report 30% and Biden 283k. Hillary received 367k in 2016. Biden has another 84k coming depending on how the margins shift or stay the same.

When you look at Philadelphia, they've only reported 48%. Hillary received 584k and Biden has already received 289K. Suburban areas such as Lehigh County (Biden missing at least 25k), Erie County (Biden missing 17K), and Bucks (missing 50k) should given Biden the votes he needs. There's a few other counties that can shift, but it's going to ultimately depend on turnout.
---------------------
MI

Wayne County, where Detroit is located, has the most outstanding votes. Election officials in Wayne county reported record turnout. Biden is missing at least 200k in Detroit and probably many more based on the turnout numbers. Detroit can win MI for Biden.
---------------------
WI

Milwaulkee and Green Bay are still processing mail-in votes. Biden is still waiting on what Hillary won plus then some. Even Kneosha is tight.
---------------------
GA

Atlanta stopped counting tonight. Biden has overperformed in the Atlanta metro area and there's a fair amount of votes still to go in that area.
---------------------

Given the current shuffle of the electoral college, Biden can lose PA, OH, and GA but he must carry MI, WI, NV and AZ.

This scenario gives Biden exactly 270.

This is such a bonkers race.

I hope we defeat fascism.

Hey look, I was right.
