I know. I'm just saying the game is sealed either way.

Gurley would argue that

The Falcons were losing by two. We would have been up by ten.

It doesn't matter. The game is over either way. I am just curious as to why he did it.

If he isn't asked that question in the post-game presser, every "journalist" should be deprived of his/her credentials.

and in 6th place for the playoffs. At this point the best we are going to get is 5th.

Baker was pretty pedestrian. Missed a couple of easy 1st down conversions that should have been pitch and catch. That's not winning football. That's football that makes you ask if the guy is just destined to be an average player.

On the flip side he has a penchant for making 3rd and long conversions like no other QB in the league. The one to Higgins was winning football.

He's a frustrating player right now.

Why can’t we just say he’s growing and learning in a system designed to take better advantage of his strengths? Imagine him in year 5 of this offense. We just won this game with 2 backs over 100 yds rushing. Basically just flipped the Raiders game.

I'm a proponent of keeping Baker long term.

But if I'm being objective about his game today it was backup worthy.

Chubb will be the first on the team to get a contract extension from the 2018 draft class.

Chubb: When he scores a TD, he doesn’t showboat. Tosses the ball to the ref, celebrates a bit with his teammates and jogs to the sideline.

Class.

Hunt: One play in the fourth quarter on a run over RG, he looked to be stopped for a yard or two but kept his legs churning, ended up with seven or eight. TJ Watt turned to the ref, I think asking why there was no whistle. There was no whistle because Hunt kept fighting.

Baker didn’t make costly mistakes, converted that third and long on our TD drive, his biggest play, at a crucial moment. Neither QB did much.

I’d like some of the D-minded folks here to explain why we only gave up 7 points today (aside from the weather conditions).

The Texans didn’t get much on the ground, unlike the Raiders. Mack looked more involved today, Ward was good as usual. We tackled well, I thought, and had tighter coverage on the under routes.

I’ll take 6-3, we got the win that we needed to.

Not being able to convert 3rd and short pitch and catch plays doesn't have anything to do with the wind. Baker's inability to convert a 3rd and 4 set up Watson's TD drive.

It was that type of game.

You do what you must to win. No turnovers.

Don't beat yourself. Make the plays that are there that you can make.

Play defense. I feared Watson as a runner in this game. I respect the guy. He is hard nosed player that will take a game over. We did enough.

Rough conditions.

If there is one thing that gets me going is being able to run when the defense knows the run is coming.

Now I am hoping for good weather to see if we can pass and run.

I think that it was difficult conditions that made the game low scoring. Very few passes beyond 10 yards were completed. Neither QB could do a thing. Reading anything into this game about Bakers play is a fools errand.

There will be no playoffs. Can’t play with who we have out there and compounding it with garbage playcalling and worse execution. We don’t have good skill players on offense period. Browns 20 - Bears 17.

the wind has absolutely destroyed our passing abilities the last 2 games.

next week should be better.

He didn't look all that great. Could have cost us the game.If we needed him to throw us back into this game we would have been in trouble. Great defense and running game. Go browns!!

Post Game, Post game,

The Safety Blitz failed twice in the 2nd half.

Coming off a bye week where the company line was they studied their own team to do more of what they do well and less of what they don't do well.

iirc, I've only seen the safty/db blitz one other time all year, it worked that time.

Can Deshaun Watson play better for the Browns, than Baker Mayfield would have? ... Now the Games count.

Was anyone else annoyed by that announcer?

"I don't know why they'd come out on 4th and 4."

Because we were at midfield, you bozo. If we draw them off it's an automatic 1st and a free play. If we false start we essentially lose nothing, and...oh, what's that? Houston had to burn a time out...

I am rather surprised that Mack and Byner didn't accomplish that when they both had 1000+ in a single season.

Tight game, backs to the goalposts, just trying to grind out a 1st down... Coach has the presence of mind to remind players not to score? Good stuff. Freddie would have tried to score twice.

Defense played well over...

Running game got going when we needed them most...

Passing game was average at best... considering the weather I guess that's understandable....

getting to 6-3 feels great!

Mayfield made key plays at key times when the team put everything on his shoulders. There were times when the playcalling, running game, and penalties just weren't working and were putting him in very tough spot. He came through for his team today even though it might not show up in the numbers.
- twice the team was backed up against the endzone with the running game doing nothing and he picked up first downs.
- on the touchdown drive he pulled the team out of a 3rd and 18 and a 2nd and 18 situation.

Easy to forget these plays in a game like this, but these plays all probably change the score of the game.

I can't say I remember Walter tackling Bob Hayes. I do remember Dale Lindsay diving to tackle Hayes in an open field and preventing a 1st down. I'm sure it was a playoff game in either "68 or "69

Rishuz, Then dashaun Watson is backup worthy as well. His numbers were pretty much the same as bakers. Baker did what he needed to do to win the game.

Both quarterbacks were negatively impacted by the elements but we won the game. Nothing else matters.

I don’t care if it’s baker mayfield or Aaron Rodgers.

If you’re QB only needs to throw the ball 20 times because you have two studs punishing the defense in a WIN, there shouldn’t be a team, FO, or fan base that wouldn’t take that every Sunday.

We are 6-3, and we got our stud RG and RB back. I’m completely happy with the direction of this team.

I'd be happy with a Trent Dilfer superbowl win for this team.
