Actually it would be the same timeline that Big Ben was on. Anyone that is deemed high risk will be out until Saturday if they are negative.

Not to poo poo the NFL's protocols, but the close-contact tracing is a bit of a joke.

He's a FB, I assure you he was in close contact to not only the entire team yesterday but about 20 Texans. Basing that information on wrist bands with data chips when a team is practicing or working out is an illusion of safety.

We don't know if he tested positive yet. Cross your fingers.

Did he test positive or was he just a close contact

I don't know, but he just had close & prolonged contact with the entire offense.

well, having had to navigate through this with sports teams myself .. it’s tricky with contact tracing. It’s 15 minutes of sustained contact that counts. So, within 6 feet for 15 minutes.

With all of our protocols and stuff, I actually doubt they’d have others quarantine unless they show symptoms

So I'm reading today that "contact tracing", per NFL protocol, will bench a player if they are within six feet of infected person for at least 15 minutes.

Seems like there should never be anyone sidelined for this as long as some rather simple procedures are followed.

exactly. It’s very difficult to be quarantined as a close contact, unless you live with that person

... or just spent 2-3 hours on the same sideline as the infected person?

Or sat in a meeting room with said person over the course of a week?

I don't think it's all that hard at all.

it has to be 15 consecutive minutes within 6 feet ... how often does that occur unless you’re literally just standing by the same person for an entire half of a quarter and not moving at all. Plus, with the way we’ve handled stuff in the facility, I don’t see anybody near anybody for that long, let alone at all

So it's even more of a joke than I thought.

6 feet is to slow the spread (ie: compounding infections). 6 feet for 15 consecutive minutes...jeesh. So they have to make sure they change spots on the bench when the other team is on the field. The NFL, man.

I just don't think it's all that hard. Offense is going on the field and coming off the field together, then you've got them looking over the Surface when they're on the sidelines.

Maybe not so much a guy like Janovich. But I thought for sure Hubbard meant our Oline would be following suit.

Yeah, you're probably right. Had never heard of Matt McCrane but now that I look he actually had a pretty stellar college career.

Had a feeling this would happen. NFL needs to cancel the damn game sunday and reschedule it. We are now down both RT's,are long snapper and friggen kicker. oh and garret is home sick. The list is going to just keep getting longer until all players and personnel get away from that facility for atleast 5 days

Wheels may be coming off the NFL wagon. This could spiral out of control. "The center cannot hold" as Yeats said. We are potentially down a number of skill position starters.

Hope everybody can stay healthy; barring that, I hope they do not suffer lasting ill effects.

He kicked the Raiders game-winning field goal against the Browns in 2018; Baker's first full game.

For some reason, losing our LS worries me a lot. Here's hoping they all test negative.

How does a league celebrating its 100th season only recognize the 53 most recent championships?

If this (the update) is true, then it shows the Browns are being extra extra cautious. Good to see with the knowledge that this was bound to challenge the roster at some point.

What I find ironic and irritating is that the raiders, just like the browns have alot of players on the covid list right now. It wouldn't surprise me If both teams still have to play and games are not rescheduled. HOWEVER, the nfl had no problem with rescheduling the Steelers titans game back in week two I believe. Once again the nfl caters to the Rooneys

A bunch of players on the Titans tested positive for COVID. We have players that had close contact with a person who tested positive for COVID. There is a huge difference. Not everything is a conspiracy..

Plus, if anything, it hurt the Steelers.

If the show had to go on, they would've faced a VERY depleted Titans roster. It also burned their bye much earlier than they probably wanted.

I believe Stefanski mentioned Mack Wilson as one of the team's options as a long snapper. If he's good at it, can you imagine him on punt coverage? Snappers usually have free rein going downfield on coverage.

I read that Stephen Carlson is our backup long snapper.

Hopefully it will end the same as Baker's Covid contact of last week.

How did Conklin get in that Special Teams meeting...is he the reserve long snapper?
