In & Out opened their first restaurants into Colorado today. Local police reports a 12 hour wait at one of the restaurants. I can wait for the hype to die down. I'm not in that big of a rush to clog my arteries. Police report 12 hour wait at In & Out

I never had it. People have been raving about since they announced they were expanding into Colorado a year or so ago.
They said they marked the last car to be served at 4:30pm and they won't get to the front until 2am.

Over rated. I had in Cali for the first time a few years back. Was disappointed. Not because the burger was bad, but because the hype made them out to be so much more. An slightly above average fast food burger.

It’s not the best burger a person will have. I have had many better burgers. For me it’s the price and nostalgia factor (as a lifelong Californian). I can feed four people for about $20.

It's not 12 hour wait good, and I am a huge fan. Just ask Milk. Maybe 30 min wait tops. And I certainly wouldn't wait 12 hours and order straight from the menu either. You have to know what you are doing. If you are going to In and Out for the first time or any time, you have to order this...Double Double animal style with chopped chilis (ignore the chilis if you don't like heat). Milk is also a big fan of this. This will somewhat change your life. At a minimum you will never order anything else from In and Out again. Other nice things are it's fresh and as cfrs said cheap. I can feed my family of four for about $20 as well. It's also well run. Probably one of the most well run businesses I've ever seen. You can go to 100 different In and Outs and the experience will be the exact same every time from service to food. Apparently they treat and pay their employees well and have a culture where employees buy in. It shows in the consistency from restaurant to restaurant. I actually had it ranked as my number one burger but have since bumped them to number two and put Freddy's Steakburgers number one.

The only thing I have waited on for 12 hours was the birth of one of my children.

All what I will say is that my step-daughter and family were probably in that line.
They were here for a week in October, 5 or 6 visits to In-N-Out. Including driving from the airport to here, and returning to the airport.
It is a decent and reasonably priced hamburger. It is not worth a 12 hour wait.
She and her family missed it being in Colorado. A bit of a cult following.
Welcome back, Joe, we missed you!

They are good fast food burgers, but that’s as far as it goes. 12 hours? That is definitely cult like, haha.

What do you tell your family? "Hey, it's 10 a.m. I'm gonna go get in and out. Go ahead and make lunch and eat. Go ahead and make supper and eat. I'll be home with the midnight snack around midnight." ?

$20 isn't such a good deal when you add half a tank of gas to your total, not to mention what your time is worth. Waiting 12 hours for a burger is insane. What are they cooking with, a Bic lighter?

Ive never had it, though I know it has a cult following. One place that I used to love and haven’t had in a long time: Hardees
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Jeudy is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Tillman is flanked out wide to the right. Judkins and Ford are split in the backfield as Flacco takes the snap ... Here we go."

If I want a burger, best place ever is just down the road. 10 pin tap. And I've been to most all of the fast food places, and had burgers at 'special' restaurants.
I'm not impressed with "kobi", or 'grass fed' at those semi fancy places. And if I'm at a place that is more than semi fancy? I ain't getting a burger anyway.

Yikes! I wouldn't wait that long for an incredible steak let alone a burger. What happened when someone had to use the facilities? You just leave your car and come out to find that 20 other cars have gone around you or that they pushed your car out of the way and now you have to go to the back of the line. lol

There are very few things I would wait that long for, it’s weird that people would wait that amount of time for a mediocre burger.
I worked in Key West for nine months a few years ago. Of course, I ate seafood 90 percent of the time. One time, walking down Duval, I decided to stop in a tiny place that I had never been to before. I ordered a Wagyu burger. It felt like the best burger I had ever eaten. It’s possible that it was because I hadn’t eaten red meat in 8 months. Haha

I think the 8 months off had a lot to do with it. I once abstained from meat for about the same length of time. One day I went to McDonalds and ordered 1 regular hamburger. It tasted like the best thing I had ever eaten.

About 15yrs ago a Church's fried chicken place opened up in Toledo and people were waiting in line all day for that. It's good chicken, but unless I'm starving to death....I'm not waiting that long for any food.

Waiting for food in general is something I have a rule about. I won't do it. If a restaurant has a long wait it's on to the next one. The only time I'll do it is if I'm not super hungry and feel like having a couple of drinks from the bar while waiting.

These are the same type of people that waited in line at Popeye's when they came out w/ the chicken sandwich. Waiting in line 12 hours is part of the allure so you can say you did it.

I’m never waiting for food. If the fast food car line has 10 cars, not waiting. I just go somewhere else. Longest I’ll wait is maybe 1 hour for a pizza to be delivered.

No it isn't. They're a better version of a fast food burger than McD, BK or Wendy's but they're still a fast food burger. We had similar issues when Chick-fil-a opened here. Not 12 hours, but hours nonetheless. I just waited a month

I really enjoy Chick-Fil-A, but even with their double drive thru thing, they still are wrapped with cars every time I go by there ....... so I haven't had Chick-Fil-A in quite some time.
As far as burgers, I won't even wait in line for more than half an hour to get a good steak. I sure won't wait for a burger.

Oh boy this takes me back, I was about to tell you, it doesn't matter if the line is wrapped around it's how fast the line moves. Oh that takes me back, I've seen first hand, how an alleged, what would be the equilivalant of a drive thru apparently no cars in line all day, would be even 3 times busier than one with cars wrapped all day. It's all in speed per order, lemme tell you it can be a well not amazing, but a cool thing to watch.

You gotta order off the secret menu! Is that the one with better quality food? Cuz otherwise slapping some sauce and grilled onions or whatnot, on an average burger, isn’t really much.

Usually faster than the drive thru line. Even if it's not, I can park and relax instead of slowly inching forward in line. The ones around here have also added delivery options too.
