There's an article on Sports Illustrated that goes deep into the inner turmoil inside their organization.
I'd link it here, but there's masked profanity.
It makes the whole Sashi-Hue thing look like childs play.

I said it early on that Burrows Bengals do not have his support and he was getting hit a an alarming rate. Those hits take its toll and that I had hoped he would not become another Andrew Luck - damaged goods and have to retire early. Now his leg is completely damaged and will have to be rebuilt. Will he ever be the same. Carson Palmer was never the same after the Steelers played Dirty in their (I think it was a playoff game) and pretty much ended Palmer's career. He did mend and made a come back later in his career. But still he was never the same.
Defense wins championships. Watson play your butt off!

I remember when we returned and picked Couch first overall,, then we proceeded to get him killed because the GM didn't see fit to get a line to protect him.
That kid had promise but we got him killed. Then the fans turned on him.. Hope that doesn't happen to Burrows

Yeah Couch got beat on mentally by fans and physically. The kid had no pocket to step into. If you remember he always had a throwing hand issue from hitting so many Helmets while throwing. He became damaged goods, So did Carr with the Texans, Andrew Luck with the Colts and now Burrows with the Bengals the kid was the most hit rookie QB and those hits add up. He destroyed his leg already. They better draft OL and give this kid a chance. I'm glad our OL is here and protecting our Franchise QB...

Agreed. Couch got a raw deal here. He could have been a good QB for us for a long time.

I felt good about McCoy as well while here. But the protection just thin. Played with guts. Hope that BM gets this together consistently Points!

At least they'll likely be in a prime position to draft Penei Sewell.
Move Jonah to RT
Sign Corey Linsley in FA to get a decent vet center (His injury history and the Packers having to prioritize Bakhtiari may make Linsley available)
Not that I'd ever root for Cincinnati to win, but the issue is solvable.

I had forgotten that, but at the time it seemed almost criminal. Warm spot in me heart for the QB, but I really did not like Shurmy and his attitude towards players. Not enough busses to throw the team under and fix blame on them. Not very classy, and not very good.

I had always thought it strange that Colt and Weeden had very different styles and abilities, yet under Shurmur they had the exact same problems.

That is an interesting observation. Weeden's flipper fails just made me crazy. Colt certainly absorbed a lot of abuse, and I think he did what he could, but it was unavoidably doomed. But thanks for the mental poke. Not sure if it best to raise my opinion of Weeds or lower my respect for Colt.
