'Put their heads on pikes': Steve Bannon calls for beheading of Fauci and FBI director if Trump wins

Steve Bannon said a second term for Donald Trump should start by displaying the severed heads of Dr Anthony Fauci and FBI director Christopher Wray on the White House "as a warning".

Speaking on his podcast The War Room, Mr Bannon - the president's former campaign strategist and senior counsellor - said putting their heads on pikes would be more suitable than a simple firing.

"Second term kicks off with firing Wray, firing Fauci, no I actually want to go a step farther but the president is a kind-hearted man and a good man," Mr Bannon said.

"I'd actually like to go back to the old times of Tudor England. I'd put their heads on pikes, right, I'd put them at the two corners of the White House as a warning to federal bureaucrats, you either get with the programme or you're gone."

The Twitter account of the podcast @WarRoomPandemic was suspended after the podcast went live on Thursday. The account of Kathy Griffin, who posted an effigy of Mr Trump’s severed head on to the platform on Wednesday, remains active.

Mr Bannon’s co-host Jack Maxey noted on the podcast that 250 years ago traitors used to be hanged, saying this week was the anniversary of the hanging of two Tories in Philadelphia who collaborated with the British during the American Revolution.

Mr Bannon replied: “That’s how you won the revolution. No one wants to talk about it. The revolution wasn't some sort of garden party, right? It was a civil war.”

The comments have led to speculation online that Mr Bannon could have violated the conditions of his bail order after he was released on a $5 million bond, secured by $1.75 million in assets, on charges of fraud and money laundering. He has denied any wrongdoing.

Roger Stone Says North Korean Boats Delivered Ballots Through Maine Harbor As Trump Boosts Fraud Claims

Former Trump adviser Roger Stone claimed without evidence on Wednesday that North Korea had interfered in the U.S. presidential election. Meanwhile, President Donald Trump continued to assert that fraudulent activity was prevalent during the November election.

Stone, who has previously spoken of his respect for some members of the QAnon conspiracy theory movement, was sentenced to 40 months in prison for lying to investigators in connection with the Mueller probe into Russian election meddling during Trump's 2016 campaign. Trump commuted Stone's sentence in July.

With the Electoral College expected to meet on December 14, Trump has intensified his claims of widespread election fraud. Democrat President-elect Joe Biden was widely projected to be the winner of the election despite Trump's protestations. During an interview on The Alex Jones Show, Stone baselessly said he had received proof of election fraud.

"I just learned of absolute incontrovertible evidence of North Korean boats delivering ballots through a harbor in Maine, the state of Maine," Stone said. "If this checks out, if law enforcement looked into that and it turned out to be true, it would be proof of foreign involvement in the election."

In a statement emailed to Newsweek on Thursday, the office of Maine's Secretary of State denied Stone's allegations.

"Discussing a rumor such as this only legitimizes it," said Department of the Secretary of State Director of Communications Kristen Schulze Muszynski. "We have no evidence of any interference in our election, and we have completed our certification of the official results. We take voter fraud and interference allegations seriously and look into any substantiated claims. At this point, this vague rumor has absolutely no validity."

Stone told Jones that he prayed daily for Trump to be "strengthened" in his fight against "an epically corrupt deep state that has no problem in what appears to be the cyber-manipulation of the votes of the American people."

In a July interview, Stone praised some members of the QAnon movement as "great patriots." Many of the theories espoused by QAnon adherents revolve around Trump leading a covert battle against Democrats, some members of the business community and individuals in the entertainment industry. According to the theory, those individuals are involved in pedophilia, human trafficking and satanic worship.

While Trump has declined to distance himself from the QAnon movement, his claims that Democrats conspired to win the election have continued. On Wednesday, Trump released a 46-minute long video on his Twitter feed detailing his allegations of election fraud.

"The Democrats had this election rigged right from the beginning," Trump said, citing claims of voting machine manipulation, improper mail-in ballots and insufficient signature checks.

Trump has alleged that many of the mail-in ballots, which skewed Democratic, were illegally counted. Those ballots allegedly helped swing the election in Biden's favor. "If we are right about the fraud," Trump said, "Joe Biden can't be president. We're talking about hundreds of thousands of votes."

Trump's legal team has filed litigation in some battleground states contesting the election process. However, many of those lawsuits have been dismissed by judges.

"What a disaster this election was," Trump said. "A total catastrophe, but we're going to show it, and hopefully the courts—in particular, the Supreme Court of the United States—will see it and respectfully, hopefully, they will do what's right for our country."

According to the Associated Press, Biden was projected to win the election with 51.3 percent of the popular vote to Trump's 47 percent. Biden received 306 electoral votes, more than the 270 electoral votes required to be officially declared president. Although some litigation on behalf of Trump is still ongoing, states have until December 8 to certify their election results before the Electoral College convenes on December 14.

Young men drove 5 hours to rip out Atascadero monolith and replace with cross, video shows

A livestream video posted online shows a group of out-of-town young men road-tripping from Southern California to tear down the mysterious monolith that appeared on an Atascadero hilltop only a day earlier.

A three-sided metal monolith was discovered by hikers in Atascadero’s Stadium Park on Wednesday, the third of its kind to make an appearance around the world.

Officials had no clue as to how the monolith appeared there or why. But it didn’t last long, and Atascadero officials are not happy about what apparently happened.

Just as suddenly as it appeared, the structure was gone, but with far less mystery after word spread of the video showing a crew decked out in camo gear and night-vision goggles ripping out the metal structure and leaving a wooden cross in its place.

The grainy video, shared to streaming site DLive.tv by a user identified as CultureWarCriminal, shows a group of young men driving from the Southern California area with the express purpose to tear down the structure and “tell the alien overlords they are not welcome.” (The video has since been removed.)

“Thank God we were able to carpool,” one of them says at the beginning of the livestream, which was broadcast to a cheerleading audience that numbered more than 600 at one point.

In the rambling and at times racist and homophoboic video, the four young men drive up Highway 5, loudly singing along to country music.

On the way, they stop to pick up Monster Energy drinks and a homemade wooden cross, while sharing their thoughts on what they alternately called “an alien obelisk” and other times “a pagan monument.”

“We’re going on a 500-mile roundtrip to steal a f---ing monolith,” one dressed in camo says during the video. “That’s how much we love Jesus Christ.”

At one point, one of the men says they are operating “on direct orders of QAnon and President Trump himself.”

After five hours, they finally make it to Stadium Park and turn on night-vision goggles as they trek up the hill to the monolith.

“This is go-time boys,” one says just before they begin chanting “Christ is king.”

The chant continues as they all push down the silver structure and tear it from the rebar. The final seconds of the video show one member of the group attempting to drag the monolith away as others try to install their homemade cross in its place.

Then the video cuts out.

A second stream posted by the same user soon after that has also since been removed showed the group then dragging the monolith down the hill as they chant “America first” and claim to be military veterans.

At one point, they appear to think they are being chased by someone and hide before hightailing it back to their car without the monolith.

“The Illuminati got it, so we’ll strike again when they put another pillar up,” the camo-dressed streamer says.

According to a news release issued by the city on Thursday, Atascadero officials were aware of the video and were disturbed by the group’s decision to tear down the monolith.

“We are upset that these young men felt the need to drive five hours to come into our community and vandalize the monolith,” Mayor Heather Moreno said in a news release. “The monolith was something unique and fun in an otherwise stressful time.”

According to the release, the Atascadero Police Department has not received any reports to date that the monolith had been removed or stolen, so there is no hint yet as to who installed it in the first place.

The department is reviewing the video and looking into the incident further. More information will be released once it is available, the city said.

Wyoming health official says 'so-called pandemic' a communist plot

Efforts to develop a vaccine is a plot by Russia and China to spread communism worldwide, said department readiness and countermeasures manager Igor Shepherd.

CASPER, Wyo. — A Wyoming Department of Health official involved in the state's response to the coronavirus questioned the legitimacy of the pandemic and described a forthcoming vaccine as a biological weapon at a recent event.

The “so-called pandemic” and efforts to develop a vaccine are plots by Russia and China to spread communism worldwide, department readiness and countermeasures manager Igor Shepherd said at the Nov. 10 event held by the group Keep Colorado Free and Open.

Shepherd was introduced as and talked about being a Wyoming Department of Health employee in the hour-plus presentation in Loveland, Colorado.

Shepherd's baseless and unsubstantiated claims undermined Wyoming's public health measures — and public exhortations — to limit the spread of the virus, as well as its plans to distribute Covid-19 vaccines in the months ahead.

Even so, Wyoming officials including Gov. Mark Gordon, who at a recent news conference called people not taking the virus seriously “knuckleheads,” declined to comment.

Department Director Mike Ceballos and State Health Officer Dr. Alexia Harrist did not answer questions Friday, including when they became aware of Shepherd’s talk and what if anything they have done in response.

Phone and social media messages left for Shepherd on Friday weren’t returned.

Shepherd has worked for the health department since 2013 and has been a part of the state’s team responding to Covid-19, though not in a leadership role, department spokeswoman Kim Deti said.

“All of the things we’ve said for months and the thousands of hours of dedicated work from our staff and our local partners on this response effort and our excitement for the hope the vaccine offers make our overall department position on the pandemic clear,” Deti said in identical statements Thursday to the Casper Star-Tribune, which first reported Shepherd's presentation, and the AP on Friday.

Researchers have worried for months that politicized skepticism of COVID-19 vaccines could hurt their efficacy. Vaccines are more effective if most of the population is inoculated.

Researchers at Johns Hopkins and Texas State University wrote a paper in July stressing that concern, the Star-Tribune reported.

“If poorly designed and executed, a Covid-19 vaccination campaign in the U.S. could undermine the increasingly tenuous belief in vaccines and the public health authorities that recommend them — especially among people most at risk of Covid-19 impacts,” the researchers wrote.

COLUMBUS, Ohio—A prominent Ohio tea party leader has taken out a full-page ad in the Washington Times calling on President Donald Trump to temporarily suspend the Constitution and declare martial law to stage a “re-vote” of the 2020 presidential election.

The ad, placed by Tom Zawistowski of the We the People Convention, drew swift criticism from at least one top Ohio Republican.

In the ad, Zawistowski states that when Democrat Joe Biden is formally elected the next president, as is expected, Trump should order the U.S. military to oversee a new election for federal candidates using only paper ballots.

Zawistowski cited unfounded claims of voter fraud, many of which have been vocally pushed by Trump himself. Trump’s campaign has filed dozens of lawsuits in battleground states narrowly won by Biden, though those suits have mostly been thrown out or withdrawn.

“Without a fair vote, we fear, with good reason, the threat of a shooting civil war is imminent,” the ad states, adding a vague warning that if Trump doesn’t declare martial law, “We will also have no other choice but to take matters into our own hands, and defend our rights on our own.”

Zawistowski, also the executive director of the Portage County Tea Party, has been one of Ohio’s most visible tea party leaders. Known in Ohio political circles as “Tom Z.,” he ran unsuccessfully for Ohio Republican Party chair in 2013.

The exact extent of Zawistowski’s influence is debatable, though a candidate forum he organized in suburban Columbus in 2017 attracted three of the four Republicans who were running at the time for governor, including now-Gov. Mike DeWine, as well as hundreds of tea party activists.

In 2018, he made the news again when he denied that an offer to endorse then-Lt. Gov. Mary Taylor’s gubernatorial campaign in exchange for $1 million to help fund candidates for the state Republican Party’s central committee constituted an “extortion” attempt.

Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost wrote on Twitter that the ad is “utterly irresponsible, ahistorical and without precedent or legal rationale.”

Yost, a Columbus Republican, submitted a non-binding legal brief last month in support of one of the lawsuits filed on Trump’s behalf in Pennsylvania, which Biden won by about 80,000 votes, according to certified totals.

Lindsey Graham Blames Governor Kemp for GOP 'Civil War Brewing in Georgia'

Senator Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) urged Republican Georgia Governor Brian Kemp to take steps to end a Republican "civil war" by overturning President-elect Joe Biden's victory, shortly after he had certified the election for the Democrat a second time.

Graham made the remarks during a Monday night appearance on Fox News' Hannity. The senator warned that not calling a special legislative session focused on overturning the election outcome or ordering a signature-focused audit of results, which the governor has called for but cannot order himself, could have dire consequences for Kemp's political future because it will displease supporters of President Donald Trump.

"If you're not fighting for Trump now when he needs you the most as a Republican leader in Georgia, people are not going to fight for you when you ask them to get reelected," Graham said. "There's a civil war brewing in Georgia for no good reason. It's not unreasonable to ask the legislature to come back in and order an audit of the signatures in the presidential race to see if the system worked. What is unreasonable is to sit on your ass and do nothing when you've got a chance to save the country."

"The governor of Georgia could call a legislative session into being tomorrow to go ahead and audit the signatures so we'd have confidence in the presidential outcome," he added. "Maybe it worked, I don't know without an audit."

Graham insisted that Trump "got screwed over with the mail-in voting system in Georgia," maintaining that he has "no confidence" in the election outcome "if you don't audit the signatures." Kemp has rejected calls for a special session, which could be used to appoint Trump loyalists as Electoral College electors, though such a move may not be legal.

The governor certified the election in favor of Biden on Monday for a second time, following the completion of two recounts and a risk-limiting audit that ultimately saw the president-elect come out on top in three different countings of the ballots.

Georgia elections officials say that without a court order, they do not have the authority to order a new audit focused solely on signature verification. Even if such an audit were to take place, doing so would be essentially meaningless to the election outcome since any discrepancies found could not be tied to specific ballots.

Arizona GOP Asks If Supporters Willing To Die For Trump’s Election Fraud Lies

The Republican group later tweeted a scene from “Rambo” in which the titular character calls on his comrades to “die for something.”

The Arizona Republican Party ignited backlash on Tuesday after firing off a pair of tweets that appeared to encourage President Donald Trump’s supporters to give their lives as part of an effort to overturn the election results.

The controversy started late Monday when the group retweeted Ali Alexander, a leader of “Stop the Steal” ― a movement that embraces the debunked conspiracy theory that there was widespread election fraud and that Trump, not Democrat Joe Biden, actually won the contest.

“I am willing to give my life for this fight,” Alexander wrote in the tweet, which the Arizona GOP shared with its more than 61,000 Twitter followers.

“He is,” Arizona GOP added in their retweet. “Are you?”

About an hour later, the Arizona GOP tweeted a clip from the 2008 film “Rambo” in which the titular character issues a call to action to soldiers: “This is what we do, who we are. Live for nothing, or die for something.”

The “Rambo” tweet was removed late Tuesday morning after racking up hundreds of thousands of views. Zachary Henry, a spokesman for the Arizona GOP, cited “concerns about copyright and fair use law” when asked about its removal.

“The Republican Party of Arizona condemns all forms of violence in the strongest terms,” Henry said. “Fictional movie scenes should be weighed in their proper context.”

He did not respond to a request for comment about what the Arizona GOP meant when it asked if people were willing to give their lives for “Stop the Steal” and whether the pair of tweets could be viewed as encouraging violence.

“If some random yahoo in AZ kills somebody in the name of Trump staying in office, will Arizona GOP chair Kelli Ward be charged as an accessory?” tweeted Philadelphia Inquirer opinion columnist Will Bunch.

Elections officials, Democrats and some Republican lawmakers have urged Trump and his allies to stop spreading lies about the election results and tone down their divisive rhetoric, warning that such remarks could lead to violence.

“It has to stop. Mr. President, you have not condemned these actions or this language,” Gabriel Sterling, a Republican and the voting implementation manager in the Georgia Secretary of State’s Office, said during a press conference last week.

“Stop inspiring people to commit potential acts of violence,” Sterling continued. “Someone’s going to get hurt, someone’s going to get shot, someone’s going to get killed. And it’s not right.”

Trump and his supporters in the “Stop the Steal” movement have baselessly claimed Democrats “rigged” the election against Trump. Election officials nationwide, including Republicans, have rejected such claims.
