Michael David Smith Wed, December 9, 2020, 11:48 AM EST·1 min read The Browns are scheduled to host the Ravens on Monday night, but Ohio’s COVID-19 restrictions could change that.
Ohio has a curfew in place ordering residents to stay home from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., and that curfew is expected to be extended into next week. The Browns’ Monday night game against the Ravens will end around 11:30 p.m.
That would seem to mean the Browns, who have been allowing around 12,000 fans in the stands, would need to play in an empty stadium. But the Browns told cleveland.com that they don’t know if they’re going to be exempt from the order or not.
The Browns also said they don’t know if the team is exempt from the curfew, although the state said the curfew does not apply to people working at their jobs, so presumably the teams will still be allowed to play.

Blocking those who argue to argue, eliminates the argument.
Announcement will come over loudspeaker at 9:50 telling fans to exit stadium. Fans will start throwing crap at the field. Game will be stopped by refs provoking more chaos. Line judge will get beaned in the head with a dog bone forcing a forfeit. Browns will lose tiebreaker to Ravens and miss playoffs.
That would be the correct answer, but NFL won't risk losing $1.39 for the Browns... If the game was in Baltimore, well, that would be a different story.
It will suck if we can't have an actual home-field advantage because of a nonsensical Covid protocol.
Oh my gosh! Common Sense!! but then, ... Tv markets..
I've GOT IT!!
Play the Browns Ravens at 6:pm, 5:30 leave time for OT,
and Flex some other game into the national T.V. slot.
They did it for the Ravens, for the last 5 weeks!
And send a great big thank you for the inconv. card, to Gov. Ohio.
Well now what's really going to happen is, They'll probably play the game as sch. with no fans. I guess! I wonder if the Haslems would have a, loss of revenue, case, cival case against the gov, because 10pm, arbitrarily is not less safe then 9:55 pm.
They could admit the reason is to stop night clubs, not for the sake of hating night clubs, but for the sake that night club get togethers, and alcohol consumption, are things that contribute to fights and crashes and other things involving hospitals,
and the hospitals need all the help they can get to avoid the overload.
Can Deshaun Watson play better for the Browns, than Baker Mayfield would have? ... Now the Games count.
I’d be ok with that. It would suit my new work schedule.
They can't do that without the TV Networks' permission and cooperation... hence the Ravens-Steelers getting bumped to a weird early slot for a tree lighting.
Browns is the Browns
... there goes Joe Thomas, the best there ever was in this game.

Hasn't there been occasions of MNF where they have an early game and a late game? I could be wrong on that. If it's true, it shouldn't be too difficult to convince the networks to allow an early game timeslot.
Couldnt the NFL flex another team into the late game timeslot? Then everybody would be happy.
No chance. The Browns vs the Ravens is a money game for ESPN. If it can be played at that time/day, it will.

There's also the issue of fans who have purchased tickets. Ignoring, for a moment, the argument about attending an event like this right now, those fans purchased a ticket and they would need to be refunded unless there's some weird legalese this year about CoVID ruining everything and your ticket for admittance actually being closer to playing the lottery (translation: maybe the NFL wrote in a "too bad, so sad" clause for ticket sales to make situations like this easier for them to handle).
I wouldn't be surprised if the path forward is an exemption for the game, with a finger-wagging at the NFL that they'll ignore because they're too busy counting money.
There is no level of sucking we haven't seen; in fact, I'm pretty sure we hold the patents on a few levels of sucking NOBODY had seen until the past few years.

It won't matter. These are all season ticket holders who paid for the entire season and just have their accounts debited as they are granted tickets. In other words money will just be returned to an account they funded well over a year ago anyway.
Maybe we just have to stop selling Beer at 10 pm???
those people are more likely to catch Covid after 10 pm rather then Before as its a known fact the Covid Virus Cells come out from hiding after 10 pm. Some of this crap is just that.
Not saying be careful but who the heck do these politicians think they are making these decisions with no "SCIENCE" to back them.
Defense wins championships. Watson play your butt off! Go Browns! CHRIST HAS RISEN! GM Strong! & Stay safe everyone!
No time change for #Browns upcoming game on Monday Night Football and fans still allowed b/c variance will be granted regarding state’s curfew. Variance just announced by Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine
I can't believe he wants Browns fans to get the Rona! Who elected a Steelers fan???
Of all the takes, this is the hottest.

That's very benevolent of his Royal Highness to allow grown adults to be out after 10:00, driving in their car from downtown to their homes, without fear of government imposed penalty.
