Even though I'm a Buckeye fan, The Penn State has a very classy program. Joe Pa deserves all the respect that he gets.

#14 Kentucky loses to unranked Miss. St. (and loses big, mind you) and you're here dissing the Bucks? Let's see, OSU beat Purdue, when they were ranked, then OSU ran over Penn St, (ranked), and yet you're saying OSU isn't good?  For all your "the big ten sucks" posts, seriously, this is getting old. If and when OSU loses, then perhaps you can talk. Until then, your harping about OSU not playing anyone - give me a break. If you hate OSU, just say it. Most people would at least respect you for saying that - but your trying to belittle OSU is pathetic.

I said I thought Ohio State would lose to Penn State. This is a Penn State/Ohio State thread, correct? I said I thought Penn State would win. I was wrong. But, I didn't say anything about Ohio State in this thread until Assasian brings up Kentucky being overrated. Then I pointed out that we beat #1 LSU when someone pointed out the games we've lost. So, I don't see your issue with me here?

And just to dish out the repsect necessary, the SEC has SEVEN teams ranked in the BC Top 25. Very, highly respectable.

Did you ever think that maybe LSU is a little overrated too??
I mean putting aside your OSU dislike for a second....think about what this season has shown us. Anybody can fall no matter what their ranked. If OSU loses it wont be because they are overrated merely that this season there is no single "great team" out there.
You holding up LSU as " we beat Number 1" then taking it from MSU should illustrate this perfectly.
In college football you control your own destiny. If you lose you are leaving it up to other forces.
Your continual anti-OSU rant is transparent and somewhat puzzling to me as I dont see why you spend so much time trying to make your case on a message board when the teams make their case on the field.
In all seriousness being ranked number one is an honor, not too many teams handle it well. Last season OSU almost went wire to wire and then after a bad game they were ridiculed as a fraud. That was a joke in itself. This year during a "rebuilding" season they are currently number one and have a chance to try again.
If OSU is a fraud than I am not sure what the pre-season "favorites" from this year are.

Ok, I read your post the wrong way. Since it was right after someone was talking about us losing to Miss State, and you responded with someone about South Carolina and Florida, I assumed you were talking about other games we've played and lost, not teams that lost this week. I just read it wrong.

I think the SEC is the best conference but looking at rankings is a joke. They move so much up and down they are worth as much as pro power rankings. The true indication in my mind will come after the bowl season when teams from different conferences play each other.

Just to point out one example..
Tennesse is ranked 24. They lost to a now unranked Cal team 45-31, 59-20 to 18th ranked Florida, 41-17 to now ranked 17th Alabama while beating 10th ranked Georgia 35-14 and 23rd ranked South Carolina in OT 27-24.

I have tried on too many occasions to reveal this fallacy too. Was just showing some respect for the SEC,....thereby doubling my cholesterol and blood pressure levels.
Just kidding.
And just think if we had all played team ball and stuck to the pre-season undefeatedbelievableness of the Crown bestowed on Southern Cal. Talk about a  ,....and now here comes Arizona State.
Like you said,... the system ain't perfect -- it wasn't BEFORE the BCS -- and it ain't perfect now, but it is what it is, and if you go undefeated AND are an historical "Big Dog," you're gonna get in The Show.
" Old " System,......Take last year for example,....Ohio State vs. USC in the Rose Bowl, Florida to the Sugar Bowl vs,....West Va ?? Oklahoma to the Orange Bowl, avoiding the Boise upset. USC clocks the Buckeyes and The Gators get NOTHING. Not even a shot,... I, for one, like it the way it is. Florida earned the right, and they won the game. End of story.

I agree the BCS is better than the old system. It isn't very good either though. The fact is without a playoff system you can never get a true champion. The 4 best teams could all be in the sec but not get a chance because they beat each other up while teams in conferences like the Big Ten, Big East and Big 12 all are having down years.
By the way, Michigan is up to 12 in the BCS.
