The KKK was the enforcement arm of the Democrats for a long time. Now it looks like Antifa is the new.

So you're saying there's a criminal element on both sides? That sounds like what most of us have been saying all along. You're saying there are extremists on both sides? That's what most of us have been saying all along.
The funny part of it is that you are now trying to compare this to trying to overthrow the United States government and our election process. Or so it would seem. So much for patriotism. One of the most frustrating dynamics about all this is that otherwise rational liberal and conservative people who are confronted with facts that there are extreme fringe elements within either of their political ideologies feel the reflexive need to point out the fringe elements on the other side. There are extreme fringes on both ends of the spectrum who need to be arrested, condemned, etc. That should be acknowledged as common ground by the vast majority of people, but the current environment is so bellicose that it doesn't happen widely.

There is also some seemingly deep seated need for the media on the right to scream ANTIFA any time those on the left do anything violent. Some of them are so eager to gobble it up they don't even bother to question if it's true. In this case they seem not to understand the difference between anarchists and Antifa.
It's VERY easy to tell the difference. An anarchist is someone who wants no form of government whatsoever. That has nothing to do with ANTIFA. ANTIFA is just their latest buzz word. Even if it isn't those "on the left" who are doing it. Anarchists do not have a party. They don't have a political leaning. Their goal is no government, no rule of law and no police. They wish to have a nation where everyone is in charge of governing themselves.
anarchist noun
Definition of anarchist
1 : a person who rebels against any authority, established order, or ruling power 2 : a person who believes in, advocates, or promotes anarchism or anarchy especially : one who uses violent means to overthrow the established order

The media does a very good job of corralling their viewers and telling them what to think, instead of provoking critical thought, because then - heaven forbid - those viewers might wonder why that news channel spews so much garbage.
Instead, the opposite happens. People are confronted with objective, undeniable facts, so they turn on their favorite news station so they can feel better about themselves and their beliefs, no matter how misguided.
"Oh wow, it looks like Trump supporters stormed the Capitol! That can't be right. Let me turn on Newsmax. Oh, good, it was Antifa, those liberal jerks!"
To be fair, it can and does work both ways, but that's kind of where we are at the moment.

It does work both ways. No matter which direction the channel you're watching leans, it often times happens you have to spend most of the time you're viewing it separating fact from opinion. Facts from fiction.

Yeah, they tried to install an illegitimate government. Believe what you want. If you think some guy wearing a wooly Viking hat is about to overthrow the US Government, I can't help you.

Facts from fiction. I agree. The Media is the big problem here. I said it a few weeks ago. They don't really report news, at least on a political basis. Most people pick and side which makes them ripe for what we have today.

There is no level of sucking we haven't seen; in fact, I'm pretty sure we hold the patents on a few levels of sucking NOBODY had seen until the past few years.

I guess that depends on what one perceives "what we have today".
If you mean a huge divide among our people I think we can agree. If you mean anger towards people who see things differently I think we can agree.
If you're trying to make an equal comparison that one side didn't help foster and help spread the message that the other side, " Will destroy America as you know it", "have stolen this election",and unfounded conspiracies that led to an attack on our very own election process, then we certainly disagree.
To try and pretend that it wasn't the president of our own nation, his political cronies and his arm of the media that led us to the point of insurrection and sedition, then I think it's obvious you either don't want to see it or are making rationalizations and draw obscure comparisons to try and rationalize it.

I didn't think he would... but the point is he tried.
100% - the point is he tried. The point is he was fed lies by Trump to make him want to. He was then whipped into a froth by Trump and Trump's allies to act. Pretty simple. What we still don't know is what planning and what organizing took place to enable it and assist it ... and then to prevent support.
The more things change the more they stay the same.
