"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Jeudy is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Tillman is flanked out wide to the right. Judkins and Ford are split in the backfield as Flacco takes the snap ... Here we go."
Stafford went to Shiela Ford, Rod Wood in early Jan. Stafford agreed to wait on coach/GM searches. Candidates were apprised of situation. Wood huddled with Brad Holmes, Dan Campbell. Campbell, Holmes, Wood called Stafford.
What Holmes, Wood and Campbell told Stafford is that they would consider trade offers, with the likely conclusion being that Stafford would be dealt. Fwiw, I don't think there's animosity here.
Stafford's agent, Tom Condon, is in the loop, and the Lions plan to field all offers.
they can negotiate all they want, however. They merely can't file the paperwork with the league and have it become official until the new league year starts.
Browns is the Browns
... there goes Joe Thomas, the best there ever was in this game.
I’m curious to see if Bill B tries to land Stafford

I would. I don't think Bill is interested in a rookie if he can get Stafford.
I'd give up this years and next years 1st rounders for the guy. Maybe swap a few picks that went in the Lions favor...2nd round pick for a Lions 3rd...something like that.
If everybody had like minds, we would never learn.
Man what crazy off season this could... we could see two franchise QBs traded... how often do you see one traded let alone two in the same off season.
yeah, it used to be you held onto them for dear life

Aye they could but not sure anyone would too serious about it though, too much time and better offers could come along.

well, that's why we're reading about it.... putting it out there for everyone to read - including other teams - is just part of the negotiating.

Washington agreed to a trade in principle for Alex Smith in January but it wasn’t official until the new league year.

That or some "journalist" trying to make news instead of simply reporting it.
Remember when Stafford and Quinn had that crazy shootout? What a bizarre moment in time.
haha yeah and we all knew the outcome would be a L

Thats what we have so far.. every year I've posted the NFL Important Dates and this is all I have yet.
Stafford's not just talented... he's also a tough sonofaB****
He's a baller. He's also 32... which means that whoever he goes to he could still put in another good 5-10 years.
IN Stafford's case, he should be thinking about the best place he thinks he can win with now. Let Watson go to the Jets... Stay the hell away from the Texans.
IN the case of Pittsburgh, no one is going to Pittsburgh really this year. They are heavily over the cap... and, if they release Ben it hurts them more than just keeping him on the team
Colts would be a solid option, you're basically competing for the division title as the Titans are the only real threat.
Any NFC East team he already makes them a contender. That washington Defens is nasty. I dunno if I would go to Philly though and get into that QB mess. If he signs with the Cowboys, it lets Dak off the hook to go looking somewhere else though.
Saints, there's some weapons there, but he runs into the same problem that Brees had in that they didn't continue to bring him pass catchers.
I know Carolina aren't sold on Teddy. He'd be a immediate upgrade too
Leaving Detroit and then going to Chicago would be funny. I'm certain the Broncos are probably interested. It'd save elway's job at least.
The 9ers are a good spot, but that division is gonna be rough for a couple of years too. THe cardinals are good, the rams are good and the seahawks are also good too. The upside is that all the teams beat on each other in that division, so winning divisional games aren't nearly the factor as they would be in a more disparate division.
