Is it just me or is American Gangster with Denzel Washington, TI and whoever else looking like it is going to be a sweet ass movie? Just thought I'd get that out there. That and The Comebacks looks hilarious is all the movie business looks like it has going for it. What do y'all think?

The Comebacks, not so much. I am growing tired of those movies.

Yeah, the spoofs are getting old.

American Gangster does look pretty tough. I'd like to check it out, but there's been a lot of movies that I wanted to check out this year, but it's tough with the baby to go. I used to go to the movies all the time.

That's yo house mama!

I cannot wait for American Gangster... November 2nd. Denzel Washington and Russel Crowe together in a movie? Awesome.

I could care less about The Comebacks, I've just never been into those movies. To each their own.

I think any movie Denzel Washington is in is a good movie. He's like Will Smith. Neither on has never made a bad movie. I honestly can't think of one movie either one has made that I didn't like, they are both great actors.

I am Legend with Will Smith looks to be awesome too. I can't wit to see both of them.

Probably because they've been running the trailer since what, May or so? Bizarre. Every time we saw the trailer we asked each other when the heck the stupid movie was coming out.

The book/story is amazing, I highly recommend it. I have been waiting for this movie for 2 years...basically since I found out they were shooting it. I really think Smith will be a good Neville.

I agree. Denzel is one of my favorite actors. He plays the bad guy/good guy equally as well. I didn't care for him in Mo Betta Blues or whatever.
He played a great role in "Glory". Thats my favorite Denzel part. I love that movie. "Trainin Day", "Crimson Tide", "John Q" "Remember the Titains" are a few others I like.

My favorite WIll Smith role was in "Enemy of the State". I really liked that movie.

Are you kidding? That was a great movie.

Wild West wasn't a bad movie either. It was more of a kids movie but not a bad movie at all. Imagine if Will Smith wouldn't have been in it.

I don't know I think my favorite Will Smith movie would have to be Bad Boys. Both of them actually.

Come to think of it it's hard to choose between. Bad Boys, Independance Day, Ali, I Robot, hell even Hitch was a great movie.

As for Denzel, have you ever seen the movie Fallen. That is one of his best movies I think. The Hurricane was awesome. It's about a boxer named Rubin "Hurricane" Carter who was wrongfully sentenced to life in prison and these Canadian people are trying to help him clear his name like 20 some years later. Really good movie.

Yeah, it;s good, but you can just listen to Bob Dylan's "hurricane" and get the whole story in 8 minutes. Just playin...
Hurricane is in my opinion, one of Denzel's classics. very good indeed!

Sorry Cleveland but if you think iRobot was a great movie your nuts.

Will Smith always has to play those alpha-male roles which pisses me off.

That's why I really liked him in Pursuit of Happiness. When an actor is able to get down the role of being helpless he's figured it out. Like in Philadelphia when Denzel denies Tom Hanks originally. "Streets of Philadelphia" comes on and Tom Hanks looks like he's ready to break down and cry. He doesn't know what to do he's just walking the street. That was some damn good acting

EDIT: I will say I do think that B-EZ Braylon Edwards reminds me of Mike Lowry though. Like Winslow is more of a warrior, never stops keeps going. Sort of like Bruce Willis in Die Hard. But B-EZ has that flash, like Mike Lowry.

Will Smith didn't play the alpha male in Six Degrees of Separation...That's for sure!

To all those who wanna see American Gangster...find your local bootleg movie dealer...it's been out on bootleg for weeks. I particular don't like bootlegs but hey, some people may not care

Or goto the movies, wait for the DVD, wait for PPV, or wait for it to come out on Cable.

Denzel and Crowe together again is good enough, but people aren't mentioning the main reason I want to see this movie, which is the director, Ridley Scott. Gladiator, Black Hawk Down, Blade Runner, the original Alien. Need I say more?

My wife and I are going to see this Sunday morning and I can't wait.

And I'm clicking on myself to ask this question, nobody in particular. Why is Will Smith being discussed in the American Gangster thread?

Denzel is to Filet Mignon as Will is to Hamburger off the dollar menu.

Just picked it up on Canal St. in NYC on Saturday.

Checked the quality late last nite for a few minutes and it actually looks pretty good. I am gonna watch it tonite after the Cavs game.

Can't wait! Denzel is the man!
