OSU 80 RUTGERS 68 Overall 7-1 Big Ten 1-1 Next Up @ Northwestern Saturday 2pm ... Rutgers is more than decent, so that’s a good comeback win. NW just upset Indiana, which was a surprise
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Jeudy is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Tillman is flanked out wide to the right. Judkins and Ford are split in the backfield as Flacco takes the snap ... Here we go."

I think OSU should be considered a contender in March they just keep getting better every game OSU has my Terps tonight. Always a mystery which Terps team will show up.. Terps have a few really nice wins against quality teams but they have been horrible at home and OSU should win this game.. Just stay consistent and at some point Maryland will go into one of their trademark 7 minute droughts without a basket and the game should be over. My take on this game.. Maryland will fall behind early, struggle to stay in that 7-12 points behind range.. go cold at some point and OSU will open it up to 16-20 point lead.. Maryland will make a little run in the second half and pull it to 5 or 6 but OSU will open it up again and win comfortably at the end... Let's see how I do.

I was pretty darn close in my prediction. Maryland didn't start slow, they actually played with a lead for part of the first half, then they went on about a 12 minute run without a FG, let OSU build a 10-12 point lead. Hung out there the rest of the game and lost by 8.
Maryland is so damn predictable.

I think OSU’s biggest tourney competition will be Iowa

GC. I don't know much about Buckeye Basketball, but I've seen Ohio State sports for plenty of years, and Ohio State Basketball has always been a letdown, and since I don't like the sport, I just write it off and wait for the letdown to occur. Now, the best year they had, imo, were the small couple years of Micheal Redd and Schooney Penn, and, I think, there was a player from Russia, or Asia on the team, not even a big contributer who was found to be ineligible to play for some reason, and the NCAA comes along after, and says, ehh none of those games even count, they all got forfeited.
Now what a bunch of crtrash that is. So even if the Buckeye Basketball team were to win a championship with all the games by a 40 point margin, I'll be the first to say I didn't give a rat, in the first place.
And they don't do well vs. the storied basketball schools in the tournament anyway, (now, I heard, but I don't follow that sport anymore, that all the storied schools are unranked,
but the funny thing is I don't really give a rip either way, (ahaa) I'm going to be the only one who finds that funny, oh well, have fun with your sport.

And they have had many other good teams than that 99 team ... OSU has appeared in the NCAA Tournament 33 Times and have played in 11 Final 4's and in 5 National final's Winning 1 in 1960 the last championship appearance was in 2006, so maybe the basketball program isn't on the level of their football program but is still a very respected program throughout the nation ...

And they have had many other good teams than that 99 team ... It was a little before my time as a sports fan, but I remember reading about the 1960 Buckeyes, who won the NCAA tournament. They had future NBA HOF's Jerry Lucas and John Havlicek, two other future NBA players named Larry Siegfried and Mel Nowell, and some other guy named Bobby Knight, who turned out to be a great coach, until he wasn't.

I loved the early 80's Eldon Miller teams with Ron Stokes, Troy Taylor, Clark Kellog, Dennis Hopson, Granville Waiters, Brad Sellers, etc. Fun to watch and they seemed to be on TV a lot back then.

They are a well oiled machine? Can't really recall an OSU team that shot the ball this well and moved the ball this well. They are impressive. Only weakness seams to be the defense at times, hopefully they can improve on that. But otherwise this looks like a team that can win it all.

OSU has always had a solid basketball program.
Unfortunately, most fans measure success by championships, where OSU is lacking. None the less, it is a solid program, and one I can assure you that other coaches at more celebrated programs like Kentucky or Duke don't take lightly.
I get on the Big 10 from time to time, but top to bottom, the Big 10 has consistently been at or near the top in the quality of it's basketball programs. It's pretty darn solid from worst to first, year after year.
If everybody had like minds, we would never learn. GM Strong

Dave I do not think bobby k was the starter. I think joe roberts started for the 60 championship team. I think he was their only starting senior. Luke , havilcek an Mel nowell were sophs and Siegfried was a jr. they should have won the next two years also but lost to uc in the finals. I think knight started those last two years. I loved watching that team. On a side note, I think lucas’ Middletown middies may have had the best three year run of high school hoops in Ohio history.
