Thank you so much for posting that.

Best thing today, indeed.

He was human refuse.

So much for not saying anything, though you might as well since you liked every negative comment.

Busted. I tried to stay out of it but Rush poisoned my father’s brain. I have no love lost for him. He was a vile human. The earth is a better place without him.

There. I’m done.

That's cool. Everybody is entitled to their opinion. I am just saying it is a better look when you just say RIP and leave it at that.

I am not looking for people to praise the guy. I understand many didn't like him, heck, I liked him ok but wasn't on board with everything.

Wow, talk about triggered!

I posted the piece to show the party of love and tolerance can be a despicable bunch too. What they're doing with Rush Limbaugh, they also did with Charlton Heston and Antonin Scalia.

When Ruth Bader Ginsberg died, no one of prominence on the right celebrated her passing.

This article from the daily mail shows what Hollywood and others are saying. (I've seen this website on this board as a source before...888)

Except for one glaring thing, it is something that he didn’t do himself. Treat others how you want to be treated yourself. I used to listen to him when I was younger, and he isn’t someone that I will miss.

I just used it as the shining example of hypocrisy. It seems you're not the only one who forgot what that looks like.

You sound like Ted Cruz with all of the excuses after the fact.

Rush Limbaugh loved America, and the people of America.

And Stood up for America, now, those who hate America spread their awful ideas, and they are liberals, so, in defense of America, we all stand up against the awfulness of the liberals.

Anyone who loves America, and America as a success, a shining city on a hill, a place of exceptionalism, doesn't hate Rush Limbaugh.

I'm sure it's partly why Donald Trump awarded Rush Limbaugh the Presidential Medal of Freedom.

If we can continue to shed light on what awful thoughts the Democrats, and the Liberals have as a vision for this country, then we can continue to show Love for American Exceptionalism and love for those who spent their lives defending it.

Our Liberal friends are not bad people, there is just so much they believe, that just isn't so. (Said Ronald Reagan).

And I am not a communist.

^^^ Posts like this make it fair game for those who have something negative to say about the deceased. Dying does not make bad people Saints and above criticism. People shouldn’t be silenced when others are making ridiculous statements and acting like this person was some great humanitarian. Quite the opposite was true.

Thankfully I can't see the comment. But yes, Rush was an agitator and a manipulator. He spread hate and division. He was really good at doing that and making it sound (to the unthinking) that he was using logic and reason. Until after his passing I wasn't aware he was on record as being so derogatory to women and gays. I used to listen to him from time to time and laugh at how he twisted things and manipulated callers. Also I was not aware, for example, that he celebrated, laughed and derided the death, caused by aids, of many. Truly illuminating that some would want to praise him and suggest he was a champion of their values and their version of Murica.

Limbaugh was the Howard Stern of political talk shows. He said crazy, outlandish things for the shock value. He celebrated people dying because of their sexuality. He was a racist piece of crap, saying about slavery "it had it's merits, and the streets were safer after dark." He celebrated James Earl Ray, they man who murdered Martin Luther King.

He was a terrible person, and he was a huge cause for division in the country.

I guess now that my silence is broken I’ll share some haiku I wrote...

Self righteous fat slob
Blubber burns at higher temps
Hell smells awful now

Divisive flesh pile
Clogged dad’s brain with hate and lies
You were human trash

Faux patriot man
Tossing fuel on ignorance
Stupidity’s hero

You shouldn't worry about what HE thinks. Lurking, stalking, nitpicking, and opportunistic trolling does not make his opinions valuable nor worthy of your time. And he's the absolute last person you should ever accept criticism from on this board.

You keep talking about your family. Not to get involved in family matters, but this is just some food for thought....maybe your family wasn't the problem?

I have an amazing mother that has displayed more of Christ’s messages of unconditional love, compassion, and selflessness than my ‘Christian’ father ever has. My sisters and I have an incredibly close relationship with her and each other. My stepfather, RIP, was not an easy man to be raised by. But even he reflected more of Christ’s messages than my father. He also showed me that one can have a change inside themselves. He was a bigot when I was a kid. That was completely broken down inside him and removed by a change in his heart.
My father, the Christian, once insisted with me that Michelle Obama is a man. Where do you think that absolute garbage came from? I’ll give you a hint... that trash spewing human that just died.

So, to recap, I know who I am. I know who I was raised by. I know Christ’s message. I know who lived it and who merely showed up every week at church.

You can take your supposition and get lost.

I get this tradition of not speaking ill of the dead, but Jules is correct here.

Just cause your favorite person dies doesn’t mean they’re anointed to sainthood. Rush has said some pretty terrible things in his time. A lot of people aren’t going to forget that, not forgive it just because he died.

Especially due to the fact that even cancer didn’t stop him from saying very nasty things.

Agree with this... I have never celebrated anyone's death... Rush said some terrible things over his career... I don't know if he truly believed all the crap he spewed but either way I turned him off years ago and wish more would have... he fed into a lot of the far right wing's views which did more harm than good...

Florida governor says flags will be flown at half-staff for Rush Limbaugh

In honor of conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh, Republican Governor Ron DeSantis announced Friday he would order flags in Florida to be flown at half-staff when Limbaugh's body is laid to rest.

Limbaugh, a Florida resident, died Wednesday after battling lung cancer. DeSantis called him a friend.

It's not clear when the flags will be lowered, since the funeral plans for Limbaugh have not been announced yet. "When there's things of this magnitude, once the date of interment for Rush is announced, we're going to be lowering the flags to half staff," DeSantis said at a news conference in Palm Beach County.

Limbaugh's death has been widely mourned by conservatives, although critics have highlighted past comments by him that they allege were bigoted and blatantly racist.

The governor has previously ordered flags to be at half-staff to honor the deaths of law enforcement officers killed on duty, members of the Navy killed in a mass shooting in Pensacola and Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg, among others.
