What the eagles really get is out from under the ridiculous contract they gave him a few years ago. It's now Indy's cap headache.

What the eagles really get is out from under the ridiculous contract they gave him a few years ago. It's now Indy's cap headache. Eventually, but this coming season they are eating more dead cap space for him than any player in history. The Eagles will carry a $33.8 million dead-money cap charge for Carson Wentz in 2021. So they better hope Jalen Hurts is either the man or can tide them over until they find the man. They have no money to go out and get a QB(or anyone else) this season. 34 million paid for a player NOT to be on the team HURTS.

And if Reich can fix him it turns out to be a steal. The fix has already started. Sacks allowed per game last season Colts 1.2 the second lowest number in the NFL last season. Eagles 4.1 the highest in the NFL by far. It's funny for some strange reason QB's look and play a lot better when they have time in the pocket, instead of running for their life.

I think you know what the first response is to that, though.
For a while, Rivers was getting the ball out quick (not during our game though... :-p )

Bottom line. Colts have a good o-line, Eagles don't.

Wasn't the Eagles Oline really banged up this year? Won't they be much healthier/better at the start of next year?

Wasn't the Eagles Oline really banged up this year? Won't they be much healthier/better at the start of next year? Yes, They lost their LT Dillard and their RG Brooks for the year before the season even started and the RT Johnson and LG Seumalo missed half the season and on top of that Jason Peters who they re-signed as a replacement missed a good chunk of the year.

Were they decimated? Yes. I'm not sure the assumption they'll be healthier/better is a given, though. Lots of injury concerns there, and Dillard is still rather unproven. There also seemed to be enough dysfunction going on behind the scenes to give the Texans a run for their money. Throw a new staff/scheme into the mix, add talk of a rebuild instead of SuperBowl aspirations, and who knows what you'll get.

Seems like the worst case for the Colts would be if Wentz plays just well enough to seem like the better option that Brisset and keep them in the playoff conversation i.e. Philip Rivers but not good enough to get them any further than a wildcard game. Unfortunately I can see them having to give up the first next year and being at about the same as as they were with Rivers.

Stephon Gilmore has one more year left on a deal that pays him $7.5m. Then he becomes a free agent.
Apparently the Pat's want to trade him because they can not afford to keep him and will get nothing when he walks.
He was hurt but has recovered. He turned 30 in September.
Odell is 28. He has 3 years left on his deal with $45.75 guaranteed.
=====================================
The Pat's want a first rounder and a player.
I am not sure if this is a possible trade?
It is something that would need some serious thought.
Not sure if both or neither team would be interested.
Food for thought.

I'd offer the Pats a conditional 7th and walk away.
Just sign him next year.

One of many moves I see the Saints looking at to get the room they need (not only to get under the cap but to bring in their draft picks and replacements for the guys they have to let go). Pretty easy to rack up the "savings" if they are so inclined. Terron Armstead 6mil Restructure Michael Thomas 8mil Restructure Cameron Jordan 7.5mil Restructure Janoris Jenkins 10mil Cut Kwon Alexander 13mil Restructure Lattimore 10mil Trade Emmanuel Sanders 6mil Cut David Onyemata 4mil Restructure Malcom Brown 5mil Cut Thomas Morestead 3.5mil Cut Latavius Murray 3.3mil Cut Patrick Robinson 2.6mil Cut Josh Hill 2.6mil Cut Piece of cake

I don't believe that Lattimore is a FA until after the next year. If that's the case (he's still on his rookie contract through next season), it makes 0 sense that NO would want to move on from him.
Letting a defensive cornerstone go that isn't hurting your cap situation right now sounds really really stupid.

People are just speculating because Lattimore is on his rookie option year, which is semi-expensive, and the Saints probably won’t be able to extend him as things currently are. There have been no real rumors of Lattimore being traded.

yeah, it's just a dream at this point. They can afford to keep him if they so chose (plenty of other cap-saving moves listed above). Though with the dead cap they will likely absorb next year with the post-June 1st designations they will almost certainly use for 2021, extending Ramcsyk and Lattimore will be a bit tight. The again, that 16 million dollar wildcat QB they have will be off the books.

First off Lattimore is a total stud and he is only 24.
He will be a UFA in 2022. His base salary for 2021 is $10.4m. with the same cap hit.
So the Saints would want a first rounder. Then we would have to sign him to a big time contract or lose him.
I would love to get this guy but the economics are difficult.
He is worth our first rounder. But then Marshon and Ward would need big money next year.
Njoku and his contract need to go.
Lots of brain work for Berry.

Lattimore says a tweet of his was misunderstood re: Cleveland.
And current #11 in Indianapolis won't relinquish his number to Mr. Wentz, so this trade isn't starting out all warm and fuzzy.
So glad the Browns don't have any internal strife to deal with these days.

Ignoring the ridiculousness for a moment, I'd put a trade package together consisting of Baker and picks to get Wilson. Dude is only 32 and is everything you want in a fQB.

This isn't about wat, it's about Russel Wilson.
Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

Two of the top five QBs could be on the move this off-season. The fact there are even discussions about them being traded is bananas. I’d bet on both Wilson and Watson staying put.

Dude doesn't get what he wants in regards to making personnel decisions, throws a hissy fit and now wants out. Clown.

Is that what's going on here? He doesn't seem like "that guy" at all, but I don't follow the Seahawks in the least, so I honestly don't know.
