Clayborn and Hubbard.

He expects others to restructure.

I still think Njoku gets cut/traded, Richardson gets restructured (he's not getting that much money on the open market this year), and Bitonio gets a 1-2 year extension that frees up some cap space this year.

I don't understand why people are in such a hurry to get rid of Njoku.

David Njoku having quietly effective season for Browns

I'd hold onto him now, and decide between keeping him or Hooper for 2022. Hooper's contract makes him look like a cut candidate then to me. Stefanski likes TEs and having affordable depth is a good thing. I'm still not sure what to make of Bryant, he had good games and bad games. Need to see where he settles.

I'm in no hurry to get rid of him, unlike earlier in the past season when I wouldn't have minded seeing him traded. My comment was more that, of the guys listed, he's the one I could see moved because we could definitely get something for him while getting cap relief.

I do not see any of them being cut. I also don't see any of them being traded unless we somehow absolutely MUST have that additional cap space for someone else.

I agree with whomever it was that said it was likely we see a few of those contracts restructured, especially for any of them on the final year of their current contract.

I don't disagree. But I was curious to the listed names as sometimes it can relate to what he has heard beyond sharing his own opinion.

I listed his name because there is always a chance he could be cut or traded. It's the NFL....it happens.

Personally, I think he is the best TE on our roster. But they are financially invested in Hooper and just drafted Bryant.

That was just a shot at Zac. I know him, and like him, but also enjoy busting his balls.

Obviously this means he's signing a five-year extension in Cleveland.......

.....Or bought a house.

He's passing secret notes with Andrew Berry

"do you like me?"

"check 'five year extension' for Yes"

This past year for Njoku. There was a transformation in his blocking.

Early in the year when he did get a rep or two. I saw a play where his attempt to block; was like watching Garo Yepremian attempt to throw.

Early on under Dorsey. Njoku was told what he had to work on. I saw a locker room tape (Maybe Building the Browns)where a joke was cracked about "David's blocking."

But as the season moved along every rep he was getting better. I give him credit there.

There is no dispute about his athleticism. He has serious hops, length, and speed.

Curious how Berry will play this.

In just about every sport, you have a position that's manned by guys that tend to be a little off (ex. baseball pitchers, hockey goalies). I'd imagine either the punter or the kicker is the same for football.

There is no level of sucking we haven't seen; in fact, I'm pretty sure we hold the patents on a few levels of sucking NOBODY had seen until the past few years.

I'd say all human beings, and even all dogs and cats that I've grown to know their personalities.
"tend to be a little off"
so no need to demonize pitchers, or kickers.

I once knew of a kicker, he was well adjusted, of course he was originally from Eastern Europe, so just getting set up in the USA might have lent him to being well adjusted, over a course of time anyway, but that one isolated example would fly in the face of a presumption of kickers being a little off,
but as long as we can stereotype everyone who plays a position as being unworthy, we might as well just start picking people apart for any sort.

General question.

Is it OK to Never Win or compete in a Super Bowl,

as long as a team never loses player value in a deal, trade, cut, drafted to early etc. ?

Can Deshaun Watson play better for the Browns, than Baker Mayfield would have? ... Now the Games count.

It's neither Ok or Not Ok. It's the Goal. It is ALWAYS the primary goal.
The outcome of that is just something to be accepted and hopefully learn from.

Never losing a player deal is also a goal, and a means toward the end of the above goal. You will NEVER never lose on all deals, but that is the goal. You roll on and suck it up on the ones you miss on and hope that wasn't what keeps you from the primary goal of a Super Bowl.

So we have the most cap space in the league for this year? Very cool with a buyers market for vets coming.

No, just the most carry-over from last year. The Jags have like 82 million in cap space or some absurd number

Yes. If you tag or tender a player, the value of the tag counts toward the cap.

I wouldn’t be surprised if we bring back Thomas but we just need that cap space for other purposes at this point.

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

Not sure if the gator is dead or alive...but the gator was most likely alive when someone tapped up the gator's snout..a common practice when a gator is captured.

Look a little closer and you will see the black electrical tape on the snout.

I have a number of family members who live in St. Bernard, La.

I have been on a gator hunt before.

After the thing is shot, you tape up the snout for safety reasons. Once it is in the boat, the last thing you want is the gator to have a few last twitches in it.

Those twitches with a open mouth gator can cut you up pretty good. I am not talking about biting you so much as the thing jerking and the teeth slashing you. They aren't sharp like a shark, but they are sharp enough especially if it is a young tooth. Gators can regenerate teeth like sharks, so young teeth are sharper.

Thinking about our team needs based off our current roster. We can fill them via trade, free agency or the draft. Not all need to be starter quality but should be at least quality depth.

On offense we need:
1 Wr - I would be okay with that being Higgins
A spped guy would be nice but I would consider that a luxury rather than a need.

A backup swing tackle.
I would let both Hubbard and Lamm go
Not sure if Dunn or Hance can fill this spot - if they can then not a need

Other than that the offense is pretty set

On special teams we need a place kicker.
I would be okay re-signing Parkey but would prefer a guy that doesn't make me so nervous when he kicks. But Parkey was decent last year.

Defense is where we need some real work.

1 DE - this needs to be at least starter quality if not higher
My hope is that we sign Carl Lawson in free agency
I don't see any draft prospects that could fill this role even if we used pick #26
I like the 2 Pitt DE's (Jones and Weaver). Looks like we could get one of them in the 3rd round.

1 DT - doesn't need to be a high quality starter, can be a good depth/rotation guy
I would not resign Ogunjobi - he has been just okay and will likely get overpaid.
Not sure who all is available in free agency. We would all love Leonard Williams at $12 mil/year but I am hearing that he is going to sign closer to $18 mil/year if he isn't franchised.
Would love to get someone in the draft as we need youth - this could be the last season we have Richardson and the only season that we have Billings. Daviyon Nixon DT Iowa is intriguing.

1 Lb
I like KJ Wright out of Seattle if the price is right

2 Cb - at least 1 of which can cover the slot
I wouldn't be opposed to bringing Terrance Mitchell back

2 safeties - at least one that can play the FS position with above average quality
There are a lot high quality safeties in free agency but do we really want to invest 10+ million in any of them?
Malik Hooker might be a good pickup on a show me contract.
My favorite potential pick with our 2nd round selection is Jevon Holland S Oregon

Caveat - at least one of the safeties or the linebackers that we bring in need to be able to cover the TE

Am I perfect? No
Am I trying to be a better person?
Also no
