US Vice President Kamala Harris, in a call with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has reaffirmed the United States’s opposition to an International Criminal Court (ICC) investigation into possible war crimes in the Palestinian territories, the White House said.
They've lost the left. Between not fighting for minimum wage, 2k checks, student loan forgiveness, lowering stimulus checks eligible income range, and his foreign moves with MBS, bombing, and now this... the left will never support centrist dems again. They are barely better than republicans, if at all.
If they could have done that he would never have been nominated in the first place. The fact they can't seem to recognize that the issue of minimum wage isn't a problem that came about due to Covid, therefore does not belong in the stimulus bill, is unbelievable. But that's their way. If they don't "get it all and get it now" they somehow think that means giving up.
His math math skills are poor. The goal was a total of $2000 in stimulus money. They received $600 in the last Trump stimulus package and now the other $1400 will add up to the $2000.
Biden was never a neoliberal. That's not what America voted for. That's not what America will get. And as for OCD he's been saying he would never vote for a centrist again for a long tome now. This is not some recent epiphany.

I'm against it. I've been against every administrations of both parties turning a blind eye to the acts of Israel. This is the silliness I was addressing......

They’ll keep pushing the platform of “let’s be woke enough for white people and screw everyone over financially. “
It’s the neoliberal way.
You see, I understand that no matter which party is in power they will bend over for Israel. Obama did walk back on that a little bit, but not that much.
But your above comment that I quoted is just noise. Just this past week Democrats put forth a measure for police reform. Biden supports it. I try and look at both sides of the coin before making silly blanket statements that when you apply the smell test, smell lake three day old fish laying on a river bank.
You see, per capita those $1400 checks will help more black people than white people. The extensions of unemployment benefits will help people of all colors. The money designated to help schools open up will help older inner city schools than better funded suburban schools.
There's a difference between being woke and doing meth while you're awake.

Oh yes, it's a good thing that only 60% of the country on both sides wanted these things. It's good that me and rocket are such a minority... because centrist corporatism is all there is that makes sense to Pit and the other neanderthal thinkers (BIden said that not me). It's a good thing all progressives and those to the left of them aren't feeling this way:
I'm just so happy that Biden's admin IS the most progressive since FDR...
Over 70% of Americans support the stimulus plan. Do you think a single Republican vote will change because they did not support it in the House or the Senate?
No, there won't be one voter on the Republican side that will change because of it. Your claim is because people support something it will change their votes. I give you the fact that Biden won the Democratic nomination and the presidency. Some people wish to dismiss the fact that the proof is in the pudding.

I know when people present you with facts that go against what you posted you like to dismiss it with one liners. It wasn't me who posted that gibberish I responded to. That was you. If you wanted this thread to stay on topic maybe you should have followed your own wishes.

Garbage and you know it. You act like a small mean girl most of the time when it comes to defending your beliefs. Calling people names like extremist when they don't see it your way, nitpicking everything they say, and always acting like centrists are somehow superior when it's OBVIOUS they are not. They are mostly just sheep.
Superior? No. Win democratic nominations for president and presidential elections? Yes. To get anything you want first you have to win. I see you can't actually refute or debate anything I actually posted. You didn't even try.
Then you go on some diatribe how it's others who are mean. Sometimes I don't think you even hear yourself.

The ONLY REASON Biden won is because he WAS NOT Trump. Get that through your head. If any normal or decent GOPer was the incumbent, they would still be president. But taking down Hillary wasn't enough to show y'all the progressive vote matters, so what happens from here on out is on y'all. All of it. Biden and/or Kamala will not get a second term, and in 22 they'll lose both houses in congress. You can pretty much count on that now too thanks to Manchin.
The only thing that took down Hillary was years and years of attacks by the GOP that cast a huge cloud of doubt over her before she was ever nominated. I give you Bill Clinton, Obama and Biden then all you can do is scream Hillary.
I know that rather than get some of what you want than all of what you want that you would in return rather help trump get reelected. You've made that clear for a long time now.
And then you wonder why I think there's something wrong with you.

THEN why did you blame me and others like me for four years? And don't act like you didn't. I stayed home and I heard about it from all of you centrists.
And 'some of what we want' isn't going to do it. Biden made campaign promises that we expect him to keep. Starting with the most progressive admin since FDR. Pffft.
No you didn't. Not from me you didn't. I actually stayed home too. Well, I didn't stay home but I didn't cast a vote for president. My reasons were two fold.
First I didn't think either candidate was worthy of my vote. Centrist or not my decision is made in part by the candidate themselves and not simply their ideology. Secondly my vote doesn't matter anyway. I live in Tennessee. In 2016 Trump won with 66% of the vote. In 2020 he won with over 60% of the vote. Whether I vote or not a Republican wins in Tennessee.
You see, if AOC ran against someone in the Trumpian mold, I would vote for AOC in a heartbeat without a moments hesitation. Because I put what I feel is in the best interests of my country above all else. In part it's much like part of my reasoning to refuse to vote for Hillary.
You see, I never trusted Hillary to be genuine in any fashion. I never trusted her intentions. From a strictly issues standpoint she was closer in line to my beliefs than a progressive is, I never trusted her as a person.
In contrast, AOC is much further to the left than i am. Her ideology in mine aren't aligned that much. In some ways yes, in other ways no. But I trust her as a person and a human being. I trust her intentions and her dedication. That goes a very long way with me.
I highly doubt I would vote for her in the primary but that would depend the other options I was afforded. But if she won the democratic nomination and ran against an extremist on the Republican side I would certainly vote for her.
And at this point in time I think that's where the two of us differ. I'm not going to throw a tantrum and help give another "Trump like" person my permission to become our president just because the democratic nominee doesn't suit my specific agenda.

I think that is one of the differences between Democrats and Republicans. As a general rule (one that definitely does not apply to all):
Republicans will say, I disagree with Senator X but he is a Republican I am going to vote for him. Whereas Liberal Democrats will say Senator Y isn't progressive enough so I'm not voting for him.
Just an observation on my part. Not saying either is right or wrong.

Biden takes victory lap after Senate passes coronavirus relief package
President Biden took a victory lap Saturday after the Senate passed his $1.9 trillion coronavirus relief package, handing him his biggest legislative victory since he took office.
“It’s a good day today. When we took office 45 days ago, I promised the American people help was on the way. Today, I can say we’ve taken one more giant step forward in delivering on that promise that help is on the way,” Biden said in remarks from the White House.
The legislation passed Saturday in a 50-49 vote after a whirlwind session that lasted more than 24 hours. The package was passed via budget reconciliation, a process that allowed it to avoid a 60-vote filibuster. However, the bill first had to undergo a vote-a-rama, during which any senator could propose an amendment to change the legislation.
The laborious process produced the longest vote in Senate history, but Biden touted it as necessary in the fight against the coronavirus. The package provides another round of stimulus checks, aid for state and local government, and more help for small businesses and schools, and it looks to bolster the nation’s growing vaccination effort. Many of those stimulus checks are now expected to go out this month after the legislation's passage in the Senate.
“This plan puts us on a path to beating the virus. This plan gives those families who are struggling the most the help and the breathing room they need to get through this moment. This plan gives small businesses in this country a fighting chance to survive,” said Biden.
Biden thanked Vice President Harris, who presided over the deliberations, and every Democratic senator but singled out Senate Majority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) for his efforts to cobble together a compromise to get the legislation passed.
“I’ve never seen anyone work as skillfully, as ably, as patiently with determination to deliver such a consequential piece of legislation that was so urgently needed as the American Rescue Plan. Chuck Schumer, Sen. Chuck Schumer, when the country needed you most, you led, Chuck, and you delivered,” he said.
Still, passing the legislation was no smooth feat. Voting on the bill was hung up Friday after Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) made it clear he would not back a $300 weekly boost to unemployment insurance into early October. A deal was ultimately reached to extend the payments into September and make the first $10,200 in unemployment benefits tax-free for households with income of up to $150,000.
Beyond the hang-up over unemployment benefits, the bill also left out language from the House-passed bill raising the federal minimum wage to $15 per hour and lowered the eligibility for individuals and families to receive stimulus checks.
“It obviously wasn’t easy. It wasn’t always pretty, but it was so desperately needed, urgently needed,” Biden said.
While the passage of the bill marks a major legislative milestone for Biden, Republicans lambasted it as a partisan maneuver that violated Biden’s vows to seek cooperation.
“Voters handed Senate Democrats the slimmest possible majority, shrunk the House Democrats’ majority, and picked a president who promised unity and bipartisanship. Democrats have responded by ramming through what they call ‘the most progressive domestic legislation in a generation’ on razor-thin and purely partisan majorities in both chambers,” said Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.).
Still, Biden maintained he would look for opportunities to work across the aisle on future legislative priorities.
“There’s a lot of Republicans that came very close, got a lot of pressure on them, and I still haven’t given up on getting their support,” he said.
The bill now heads back to the House for passage on the Senate version. The legislation is expected to pass, but progressives have grumbled over the changes made in the upper chamber — and some have even threatened they could pull their support.
"This trend is outrageous: Eliminating $15/hr Reducing thresholds for payments. ...Cuts to weekly payments What are we doing here? I'm frankly disgusted with some of my colleagues and question whether I can support this bill," Rep. Bonnie Watson Coleman (D-N.J.) tweeted during the Senate vote.
Biden recognized the frustration but boasted that progressives would fall into line, noting that Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), the Senate’s most prominent progressive, backed the bill.
“They’re not frustrated,” he said at the White House. “As Sen. Sanders said, this is the most progressive bill since he’s been here.”
I agree with you. You need to fight him tooth and nail for what you think is right.
As it is, they are just pushing you folks around, and behind closed doors are laughing at you. As the President said, you and others will fall in line and accept your position in the pecking order.
Seems that being a punching bag would get old, but tomorrow you will go back to taking it in the gut..

We don’t have a President and his staff setting everything on fire with inflammatory rhetoric. States and the federal government seem to be collaborating more on the COVID Vaccine. Shots in arms have gone up from 0.5 million/day to over 2 million per day.
So adding FEMA locations to increase the number of vaccinations given means nothing? Tripling the vaccines rate from less than one million a day to the new record set last week of 2.8 million was "just going to happen" anyway"?
Sure they were going to increase with the production of the vaccine increasing. Yet "leaving it up to the states" when you have a national pandemic isn't "a plan". Let's not pretend the increased effort on the part of the federal government hasn't drastically helped in the distribution of the vaccine since Biden has been elected.
And let's not forget that Biden managed to get Merck and Johnson & Johnson to work together to greatly increase the production of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine. Let's not forget we now have several vaccine location sites ran by FEMA and funded by the federal government that is helping increase those daily dosages that we didn't have before.
I don't mind you using actual facts to back up your assertions. But it seems you either aren't keeping up with what's actually going on or simply ignoring to add those facts into your posts on purpose to paint the picture you want people to see. Either way it's not accurate.

No, we are taking positive steps and the administration is doing fine in this area.
My only point is the roll-out happened at the end of Trumps administration. Any roll-out of this magnitude isn't going to go without bumps at the beginning. It's just not. There is some trial and error in the actual implementation of the local plans.
We have had time to work out the bumps. The time to get more sites set up as supply is catching up to demand. The J&J vaccine has now been approved. That vaccine isn't something that President Biden just magically made appear. It has been in the work a year or so. More or less, it is a oiled machine now and should continue to surpass recent vaccinations dispensed.
All's good except for people trying to gain political ammo.
If everybody had like minds, we would never learn.
After caving on minimum wage, after letting Joe Manchin play footsie with the right to reduce unemployment and stimulus eligibility, and after letting an unelected parliamentarian be the scapegoat for corporatist dems not backing minimum wage IN A BILL DEMS COULD HAVE FORCED THROUGH RECONCILIATION ON A PARTY LINE VOTE; Biden has showed he is weak and ineffectual OR never intended to do the crap he promised in the first place. It's one or the other, period.
Now without killing the filibuster and without whipping his caucus into lockstep, some people saying it's only been six weeks can't see the writing on the wall... He will not get anything done. But they all bought into his nothing will change crap, so they are secretly happy.
Biden better take off the gloves because his popcorn stories didn't scare the right. His dreams of a kumbaya moment with the right are pure fantasy. And centrists who are coming to his defense either like things just as they are or have no real clue about how politics really work.
Yes, it has only been six weeks. And in that six weeks he has hurt his chances of getting anything meaningful done. We will probably get more war, but no infrastructure. We will probably get more corporatism, but no minimum wage hike. We will probably get more division, but no affordable healthcare. We will probably get more lame excuses but nothing in the way of meaningful change for the working class.
I'm not going to cheerlead for a loser. I will give him credit when and if he earns it. I am not only unimpressed, I'm disgusted that he squandered the opportunity that so many came together to give him. I wouldn't be surprised at all to find out this is popcorn:
And in reality he kicked Joe's ass.
The most progressive admin since FDR... yeah right...
For the life of me, I have never understood why Israel gets the blanket support they do from every single admin from this country. Especially when you consider how rare it is to have consistency on any topic between the two parties.
There is no level of sucking we haven't seen; in fact, I'm pretty sure we hold the patents on a few levels of sucking NOBODY had seen until the past few years.
Biden never ran on a campaign of increasing the Min wage to $15 per hour.
This was discussed at length in these forum - there is very little support for increasing the minimum wage by 100% ... Lots of support for raising it $2-$3 ... but such a massive spike just because you *think* doesn't make it good policy.
The more things change the more they stay the same.

I've struggled there too. If anything, you'd think they would cater to us for support, not the other way around.

It's easy. We have millions of Jewish voters in this country and Israel gives us a stable base of operations in the Middle East if need be. We can fund them to be our hammer in the region.
