We should be able to get 2 or 3 quality D players in FA with all the good players becoming available. Add a good draft with that and we should be a strong contender this season.

Any agent that allows their client to sign an extension at this point in the off-season should be fired. Let’s hope Lawson makes it until Monday with no deal.

Regarding Lawson.

It will be interesting to see how the Browns will play this.

The Bengals have said they want to retain him. Still they let him hit free agency.

There will be a number of teams no doubt that will make him an offer.

Maybe the Bengals will offer him a good deal?

This is a ascending player who is only 25. In order to get him. I doubt that there will be any discount. If the Browns want this guy. They are going to have to offer him the best deal. If not. It will not happen.

No way to know how the Browns see Lawson. Don't know if they are prepared to offer fair market value.

Or, if there are other players they like better or feel they are good enough or possible a better fit?

I understand what you are saying, but the agent can't prevent the player from signing where he wants. It sounds to me like Lawson would prefer to stay in Cincy.

Also, players and agents routinely string the team out as long as possible even if that is where the player wants to remain.

Is Lawson big enough to be the DE opposite Myles? He looks like an OLB to me. BTW, same with Bud Dupree - who IS an OLB.

"Legal" tampering can begin Monday.

But agents are paid to know what is out there and who has interest.

The Bengals have his ear now. They can choose to make a deal they feel will get it done. However, unless he loves it in Cinci; he will listen to what market there is for him.

If the Browns really like him. They will have to offer a better deal.

Shaq Barrett has begun negotiations with the Bucs. So, he will be with them.

There are a few other options. But Lawson fits the profile for a longer term deal. He is only 25. He is entering his prime as a ascending player.

This may be an opportunity to invest in a guy without the big reputation and huge dollars. This guy may go for around $10 to $12 for 4 years with $45 to $50 guaranteed.

All things considered that maybe a bargain. Next year the cap will go up.

I've always noticed when these guys are working themselves to the bone and it shows in grammar misses. Start of FA and stuff like that, things get by that normally wouldn't. I imagine they're rushing and grinding and already pretty fatigued.

In hindsight Bill O’Brien probably didn’t deserve as much grief as he got. He was in a tight spot.

not only that but, this guy is starting and winning Superbowls. He could walk away with 8-10 rings before he is done.

A team can sign their own players at any time. Other teams can begin to sign free agents on March 17th.

And in reality a lot of the deals are already done but just can’t be announced because of tampering.

Good thing we have the legal tampering start date. It makes all the difference!

While that's true, even what they call the "legal FA tampering period" doesn't start until March 15th. And no team can sign a player until 4:00 P.M. EST on the 17th.

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

He saw both of his tackles get released and showed up at the building in a Brinks truck to hand back a bunch of money.

He didn’t give back any money. They restructures his contract to help the cap.
