No googling! wink

This lead guitarist is also an astrophysicist. (moderately easy)

If you answer, post your question.

Brian May.

The two prior names of the group that settled on The Who.

I'm a big Who fan and should know this, but I always thought that they started the one band and changed the name to The Who because the name of the first band sounded similar to another group. Like Ytown, I don't know the other one. On a side note....I have a bass autographed by John Entwistle.

Well, let's put our heads together, since no one really seems to be interested in this .......

I know that one name was Detour. If you know the other, you get the next question.

Ah sweet, trivia

Living my life never learning much about bands is the correct choice imo.

"The Detours" was the original band name and it was changed to The Who because another band at the time had the name something and the Detours. Townsend and Entwistle got together earlier on in high school and jammed together then went their separate ways....maybe he's referring to a band they may have played in? I'm dying to cheat and look it up.

Nope. I set it up that to ask a question, you have to answer one, but that seems to have dead-ended, so go ahead. lol

This is very trivial trivia. Who is the only major league player to hit into an All-Cuban triple play? Hints; it was done in the late 1950s early 1960s I think and the player later went on to a very successful manager in the 1970s and 1980s.

FYI, by all Cuban triple play I mean all the putouts in that triple play were made by players of Cuban origin.

I know this is extreme but very interesting.

I once watched a hockey game, I think he was on the Edmonton Oilers at the time, and Wayne Gretzky , it was reg tv. we didn't have cable.

He hit all 5 ways to hit a shot in an NHL game.

he hit the penalty shot 2nd I think or 3rd. (scored a goal via penalty shot)

The short handed first, ( scored while on a penalty kill a 4 vs 5.)

He scored a regular strength goal,
He scored a power play goal,

and an empty netter. in the same game. 5 Goals for Gretzsky that day. iirc.

I don't think it involved any either, overtime or shootout.

Along the same lines, what was Lovie Howell's maiden name in Gilligan's Island?

Not sure why I remember this, but I had a friend in college who knew a ton of irrelevant stuff about GI.

(Yes Hawaii I believe, and it's because it's so far south I think)

---- ----- -----

Did you know in the original Ghostbusters, 1984 movie,
About the part of the movie, iirc, where they buy the hearse which becomes the ghostbuster-mobile,
There is a wide shot of the car pulling out of the building, iirc. and there is a,
A sign of the building, a sign on the building not facing the road, for what kind of building was (left side of the screen), what type of building, (relevant to the movie), was the building right next door to the Ghostbusters headquarters?

In Ghostbusters, the 1984 version; what business was just next door to the Ghostbusters' headquarters on their right side?

Ironically, my 4th grade teacher(1966-7...ish?), Mrs. Backus, was Jim Backus's neice. Whenever he came to the Cleveland area he'd always come to her class. Albeit vaguely, I can remember it.

Back then just 3 TV channels(3, 5, and 8). Don't think 43 and 61 were even remotely thought of yet.

You are 13.8 percent more likely to die on your birthday than any other date of the year .

According to a 2012 study published in the journal Annals of Epidemiology, humans are 13.8 percent more likely to die on their birthday than on any other day of the year. That's according to Swiss mortality statistics from 1969 to 2008.

Historically I've had very bad days on my birthday. I was attacked on one of them.
and NO it's not the 2nd Sunday of football season.

The Ghostbusters...
Ghostbusters headquarters were next door to the Stay Puff(ed) Marshallow Factory.
1984 movie.
