Heading up to the ballpark today. Looking forward to being back inside the stadium and watching Bauers mash the ball around the yard.

Tito, on Ben Gamel: "He doesn't back down from anything, and he'll compete like crazy.".

In other words, he's a gamer. In other words, he'll grind. Yippy ki yay.

Shane Bieber is the first MLB pitcher in history to have 12+ Ks in each of their first two starts in back-to-back season.....and he's only making $679,700 this year. Austin Hedges is making $3.28M.

Also, Clase can throw hard.

In hindsight getting Clase for Kluber is a huge win considering Kluber’s arm was about to die.

Boy, do we need Franmil to take over the cleanup role, IMO.

At DT, context and meaning are a scarecrow kicking at moving goalposts.

Clase with the save, 12 out of 14 pitches at 100mph or more, those 2 not 100 were sliders, pretty impressive kid!

Not too bad at all.

1 of the 2 pitches under 100 mph was the 92 mph slider that Mazara struckout swinging on to end the game.

Clase has been impressive.

I just read that Yu Chang received racist slurs/threats on his social media following his bad throw last night. What is wrong with people? I cannot believe that we are still worrying about something as insignificant as race in the 21st century. In terms of genetics, race means almost nothing ..... yet some people still use it as a means to abuse others. It's idiotic.

Last night's game was a classic pitcher's duel. One of the best games I've seen in awhile. I had both pitchers on my fantasy team. I got the perfect outcome, Giolito pitched a scoreless 7 innings with 8 strikeouts with no decision, and Bieber pitched a scoreless 9 innings with 11 strikeouts, and got the win. They were both absolutely on their games. It was a joy to watch.

And some people say baseball is boring.

Boring is blowout games. Give me a 1-0, 2-3 game any day.

Incredible performance last night by Bieber. Also, hat tip to Bebo for the game(s) he calls behind the plate. Karinchack mixed up the sign from Bebo in the bottom of the 10th with a runner on second. He was expecting a fastball and Karinchack threw a curveball. Completely crossed Bebo up and he ended up catching it with his leg and barehand. Lucky to not have screwed things up.

Nice PH RBI by Rosario.

Go Tribe.

Indians will try to pull out tonight's game - somehow - without Jake Bauers, Ben Gamel, and their combined 1-28 (.036 BA) in the lineup. Dig deep, Featherheads, we still believe!

What positions do they play?

Welp ...... our poor pitching, right out of the gate, mattered little, as the White Sox no hit the Tribe. crazy

There have now been 2 no-hitters in MLB this year, Joe Musgrove and Carlos Rondon. Both were 1 hit batsman away from a perfect game.

Would have been a perfect game had Perez not been hit in the foot.

Kind of a "dink" move by Perez, down 8-0. He didn't even move. The ball barely clipped him.
If we were down a run, everybody gets the importance of a base runner. no problem there, but we weren't down by a run. His not moving was simply to break up the perfect game.

I fully expect Mr. Perez to get some chin music the next time we play the Sox. I bet he moves then.

The Indians are my team, but I am an old school type baseball guy. You don't want people getting beaned, you don't break up a no hitter late in the game trying to bunt on base, and you don't break up a perfect game by getting hit in the big toe on a ball in the dirt.

I'll bet even the Indians pitchers aren't saying much to him today. Tito might want to talk to him to remind him he might want to be good and loose at the plate the next time.

I don't agree with this on a couple counts. One, I think Perez flinched backwards with his back leg but the pitch was way inside and running down and hard towards him. Its not like he leaned into it. It was either a risky and dumb pitch or it just got away from him. Besides, nobody wants to take a pitch off their foot on a cold night.

The other thing is this whole idea of baseball's "unwritten laws" that can never be breached. Don't flip your bat after a HR, don't trot too slow around the bases if you homer, don't bunt if the pitcher is pitching a no-no (what if its a closer game?). Such BS ...

Here's what I'd say to Rodon - make a better pitch on the 0-2 count to Perez. Its not Perez's job, or the Indians' job to help him achieve immortality. Its hard to pitch a perfect game - earn it.

this is the difference between a fan and a ballplayer.

my son was a pitcher into college. He had a nono his year his freshman year a 1 hit his sophmore year and 1 hitter his junior year I think he had 1-2 more games with 2 hitters each year.
.
he always said the mistakes were his fault HBP, a walk, a hit just barely over the first basemen's head, not the batter's. Each batter has to be perfect on one swing. a pitcher has to be perfect 125 times a game.

In the same series, Eaton leaned his armored arm into the path of the ball, twice. It was clearly intentional both times. If the WS have anything to say about Berto not moving his foot quick enough, just bring up Eaton.

I didn't see the first few innings of yesterday's game, and didn't see the kerfuffle at 2nd base in the 1st inning until today. In addition to intentionally getting hit twice in the series, Eaton reacted to being tagged out at 2nd by shoving Gimenez.

He had reached the bag safely, but as Gimenez stood up, his leg against Eaton's chest caused him to loose contact with the bag, Gimenez tagged him, and the ump, correctly, called him out. There was nothing wrong, within the rules and traditions of baseball, with what happened. But Eaton reacted like a 5 y/o who didn't get his way.

I'm beginning to really not like Eaton.
