Where the hell is Joe Biden? Tiana Lowe 11 hrs ago |
Joe Biden's presidency should have begun as a success story. Biden inherited a good economic situation, benefited from Operation Warp Speed's quick development of a vaccine, and got to see his predecessor make a disgrace of himself with his election-rigging conspiracy theories.
Yet instead of heading into the Roaring Twenties, liberating locked-up denizens to endless dinner parties and dances, we're seemingly regressing into 1978. With Jerome Powell promising to keep interest rates around that historically safe level of near-zero, Biden is pumping trillions of dollars into the economy to bail out blue states already benefiting from Donald Trump's own fast and loose hand, teachers' unions happy to hold tens of millions of children hostage, and (former) workers who realize Uncle Sam and Wall Street have greater profit margins than Main Street.
The result? Inflation skyrocketed by 4.2% last month. It turns out that you can't just scream "but we're the world's reserve currency!" while devaluing said currency and forcibly inhibiting economic growth with ludicrous lockdowns. We fell 75% short of the expected million jobs created, rendering this last one the worst jobs report in history.
All of this raises the question: where the hell is the man allegedly in charge here? And perhaps more importantly, where are the people apparently pulling the strings?
After Treasury Secretary (and Powell's much more astute predecessor) Janet Yellen warned that interest rates would have to rise to prevent the economy from overheating, she quickly walked back her remarks under pressure from her boss, the way all of Biden's more rational advisers are eventually forced to do.
The Left correctly liked to lampoon the Right's defense of Trump as "but he fights!" Biden's obvious impotence lends him to the critique that although we may have the nice tweets, he evidently does not fight, at all. We shouldn't be in a crisis at all, and yet, Biden only emerged on late Wednesday to address one of the crises heading his way.
Biden, formerly a supporter of Israel but always prone to idiotic foreign policy fads, had the proper cue cards in place, offering his "unwavering support" for Israel's "right to defend itself." But before Biden left, he gave the game away.
"I'm not supposed to be answering all these questions. I'm supposed to leave," Biden said, returning to the podium perhaps to entertain the free press. But before he could defy his handlers, he remembered to follow directions, exiting just as a reporter asked about inflation. Oh well, at least inflation never cost a senile Democrat his entire career.

If everybody had like minds, we would never learn.
Would you prefer the person who can't form complete sentences, but still speaks out as much as he can, goes off-script all the time (often to hilarious, if confusing and shocking, results) and refuses to listen to the people around him?
... or would you prefer the person who also can't form complete sentences, and allows himself to be scripted and reined in? Unfortunately, those were the choices, and I chose the latter.
There is no level of sucking we haven't seen; in fact, I'm pretty sure we hold the patents on a few levels of sucking NOBODY had seen until the past few years.
Call it what you will. Fact remains that Biden is getting a pass in his first 5 months as President, but that was fully expected by anybody who pays attention.
Remember when Trump was going to kill the economy with his steel tariffs back in 2018? He enacted them and steel went from about $650/ton to just over $900/ton.. the economy was going to die. Right before the election, steel was back down to $450/ton... and right now it's at $1100/ton. Heard anything about it? Yea, me either.
Israel is experiencing the most violent attacks it has seen in years after a slew of mid-east peace agreements were reached in the last couple years.
He has completely and totally botched what's going on at the border.
I usually voted 3rd party as a rule, but I found the candidates to be extra weak this year (and I voted for Gary Johnson).
There is no level of sucking we haven't seen; in fact, I'm pretty sure we hold the patents on a few levels of sucking NOBODY had seen until the past few years.
If we want to serve our memories I could get into a lot of things trump did. But I won't go there.
I don't expect you to get your head out of Trumps butt to pay attention to what is going on today. Just trying to shed a little light on the situation of today for those that care.
Carry on.
If everybody had like minds, we would never learn.
All of creation lay in darkness under the sins of mankind. Jesus Christ came to earth to give up his life as a payment for those sins. Being one with God, Jesus did this in obedience to God the Father, the crucifixion being necessary because the wrongness of sin demanded a punishment. The sacrifice being of a pure nature being of utmost importance, as described in the Old Testament, the people of Israel, God's chosen people, told to find a ram, or a lamb, without spot or blemish, over and over again. Yet the condition of the world, the worlds' system, lay in such sinfulness, for all have sinned and come short of the glory of God, that God saw fit, that even as earlier when he had no one higher on which to sware an oath, he swore on himself, that the only fitting sacrifice pure enough, is Jesus Christ, Gods' only begotten Son. So God gave up his only Son. God so loved the world, while we were yet sinners, that he gave up his only Son, that whosoever would Believe on him shall not perish but have everlasting life. This a sacrifice because the sinfulness of man demands justice, because God is a Holy God. Yet God is no respecter of persons. Seeing the law could not save mankind but only point out sinfulness of it. That all individuals are doomed to Heck, because sin demands a payment, God offered a free gift, which no man or woman, no one in mankind can earn. That whosoever should believe on the name of the LORD Jesus Christ shall not perish but have everlasting life.
Because the wages of sin is death, but the Gift of God is everlasting life in Christ Jesus. If one repents of their sins, and take up their cross and follow Him, for this is the evidence of Belief on the Name of the Son of God; that God will make them a new creation, born again, the old things are passed away and all things become new. With a peace that passes all understanding. Then the Lord will write your name in the Lambs book of life; and when the tribulation comes they will be raptured up into heaven, in the twinkling of an eye, by the Angels of the LORD, Just as the Angel of the LORD raised Jesus from the dead, rolling the stone away leaving an empty tomb, He is risen indeed. Holy Holy Holy is the Lord God Almighty, who was and is, and is to come. Behold Jesus said, I stand at the door and knock, if any man would invite me in, I will come in and sup with him and he with me.
This is the real story.
No man has seen God at any time. God is Spirit; said Billy Graham. Faith! is the evidence of things hoped for the substance of things not seen. Without faith it is impossible to please God. The Just shall live by faith. And with God all things are possible.
This is the real story for those that want to know.

aye y'all think this is what they were saying right after lynching women for witchcraft?
“To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public.”
Man what happened to you? At one time you wrote posts that were thoughtful and not filled with agenda.
$450 a ton? was that in the middle of the pandemic when the construction industry was at a standstill and there was no demand?
As for pricing now - the market and the construction industry is picking up. No-one can get supplies. Lumber, raw materials, finished building products all have had price increases because of supply issues.
This garbage about Biden creating the inflation is just nonsense.
The more things change the more they stay the same.

Link please, we need to know the source to determine the bias.
Welcome back, Joe, we missed you!…. That did not age well.
I don't expect you to get your head out of Trumps butt
Sorry Bud, you have me confused with someone else. I'm not Kevin McCarthy, Mitch McConnell, Marjorie Taylor Greene or the host of Republicans that have their heads firmly planted up trump's butt. You obviously haven't been paying attention.

Depending on how things pan out, I might consider Stefanski the next time around. I mean why vote for a single contributor when you can vote for the man who runs the entire machine? Leaders aren't made, they're born.

I've read similar things. Couple of questions arise, though. First, why would the photographer need a wide angle - super wide angle lens, to capture 4 people?
Why, after looking at it, wouldn't they take it again? Bad photographer? (I mean, really, who looks at that and thinks "yes, good picture.")
If you look at the chair on the right, it does appear distorted. However, if you look at the lamp/lamp table in the middle, it looks normal. Now, if the super wide angle lens is to blame for making the outsides appear larger, and the Carters and the middle smaller, it would make sense that the lamp/lamp table would be distorted - much smaller - as well.
Cheney is more conservative than Trump ever was. She has never been anything close to a RINO. Her only crime in the situation was telling the truth. I can understand how telling the truth offends so many of you.
You seem to think every Republican is some crazy Trumpster. You're wrong and yes, it is driving down support for your party.
