You can't get better by hanging on to average players.. Got to improve when and where and how we can.

I did not dislike Ogbah. Since that time, I think the DE unit has improved immensely. As far as Eric Murray was concerned. Just from recollection, I thought he played decently for us. I was somewhat disappointed when we made little attempt to re-sign him. I thought he would have been a better depth piece than some of the Safties we signed for 2020. Hell, he couldn't have been less effective than Sendejo as a starter. Granted numbers don't tell the whole story but here are some of his... Eric Murray This... from beginning to end. I dont' know why we appeared to make such little effort re-signing Murray. Are you confusing him with Terrance Mitchell?

The Browns won in 2020 because of their offense. Their defense was, politely, mediocre. The players no longer here contributed to that mediocrity.

I'm not going to quibble with anything the FO has done - I like/liked Richardson and I like/liked Mitchel.... both were rare "standouts" who held their own on a bad D. I wouldn't want Mitchel starting as CB1 or CB2 - but he was a valuable part of the team and he was available, which was another asset last year.
Looking forward to seeing if the new parts and pieces can mesh together quickly and become the D we imagine. Roll on September!
The more things change the more they stay the same.

Nope. Eric Murray was the safety/fill-in corner we got from the Chiefs in exchange for Ogbah. Being that he got here mid-season, he had to work his way into the defense and out onto the field, but when he did he filled in admirably. I thought that type of versatility would've helped a ton last year.

Looks like he has done way to much feasting.
The future at DT is most likey:
Jordon Elliott and Tommy Togiai.
Billings and Jackson are short term.
McDowell and Wilson are long shots who have a lot to prove early.

Steelers reportedly had a visit from 5 time Pro Bowl G Trai Turner, and are in talks with him.
He also recently visited the Bengals, per reports.

Damn Billings might want to consider some salad.
Not impressed by a guy who has been out of football all last year. Then comes in looking like that.
At least be in some kind of shape besides round.

Run stopping DTs are usually pretty bulky, not svelte. I believe I read that he'll rotate out on pass downs.

The Steelers are dismantling a good offensive line to give Ben enough money for one more year. A team that historically has been great at keeping top end talent and replacing expensive players with well groomed backups, might have just met the end of the line of their consistency.
I don't see Ben making it through a full season. What a bummer LOL

Steelers starting OL right now
LT- Chuks Okorafor LG - Kevin Dotson C - Kendrick Green RG - B.J. Finney RT - Zach Banner One Steelers podcast I listened to from less than a week ago commented if they had to play a game right now that J.T. Hausenhour (spelling) would be the starting center. As far as Trai? Can we imagine they'd release DeCastro who I think would be their best projected, if they weren't at least close to signing someone to replace Him on that OL, or at least if there weren't some other unknown circumstances.
Can Deshaun Watson play better for the Browns, than Baker Mayfield would have? ... Now the Games count.

Did DeCastro's performance take a dip in the last few years or is this purely for cost-cutting?

Did DeCastro's performance take a dip in the last few years or is this purely for cost-cutting? Steelers are in cap hell and you'd think Decastro had some trade value. He's only 31 and made the pro bowl again last year. Unless there's more to that ankle injury, this was a cost cutting move.

I would be full of glee if that happened. I live in the heart of Steeler country, and for years have been ridiculed and laughed at. The Steelers having a losing season would make me almost as happy as the Browns making the playoffs. Many of my steeler friends are already pointing the finger at Tomlin and many are saying they won't even watch this year. I find it hilarious

Fair-weather fans to the last one. They could never be the kind of fans we Dawgs have been. Dude- watch how many of them will be strutting around Jefferson Country wearing brand- new sparkly Browns gear this fall. You should shame them at every opportunity!

Steeler fans - yuck.
Before directv football package when only sports bars had dishes and coud get the out of town games.
Atlanta had Browns bars and Steeler's bars. Steeler fans used to infiltrate the Browns bars just to cause trouble. Not fights but trash talking. Wearing Franco jersey's etc. I almost lost it during the playoff game when Tommy Maddox came back and won the game. Kelly Holcomb had the Brown up 24-7.
They were shock. Then they came back and we got beat. Their fans were rubbing it in. I just had to leave. I was angry.
I look forward to seeing them stink.
It figures that they would turn on Tomlin. I hope he leaves because he is a good coach.
I sincerely hope we humilate that team this year. Watching Ben cry at the end of the playoff game gave me a warm and fuzzy feeling. One that I could repeat often with great joy.

Seeing Ben cry made the season and the year all the sweeter.
But I will say this and you all need to remember this as well.
When Modell moved the Browns Steeler Fans stood by our side and demanded we be given our team back. For that I will always respect them as fans, that is what class looks like.
Still this is sport and after being drummed by Pitt for what seems like forever I look forward to us giving them some of their own medicine as it should be.
A big big part of that is the joy I felt seeing Ben cry. Priceless

Many of these "die hard" fans claim they didn't even watch the playoff game, it is hilarious. They do the same with the Pirates. My favorite was when they were all claiming we beat their back ups, when our whole defensive backfield was back ups. Then when we beat them with no coach, they used their old go to. Well we won 6 super bowls. When I mention all the Browns championships, it's always" yeah 60 years ago". They usually shut up when I mention that the 70s was 50 years ago. I want a shirt with Ben crying on the bench. I would where it everyday LOL

I know people who have removed Pirate decals from their cars. They do the same with the Penguins. My close buddy claims to be a die hard Pens fan, then the moment they are out of contention, he never watches another game.
If the Steelers had the same decade the Browns just went thru, their stadium would be empty. I would put money on it.

A big part of sport is hating another team. You love it.
I have respect for the Rooney family. I go way back so I saw their rise. If what had happened to us; been them. I to would have stood for them.

You want an enemy? I'm old enough to remember the Colts leaving Baltimore in Mayflower vans. I remember their fans saying how terrible it was that another city had stolen their team. Then they supported Art Modell bringing the Browns to Baltimore and stealing our team.
Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

Then they supported Art Modell bringing the Browns to Baltimore and stealing our team. When I was a kid, my teams were the Browns and the Colts. I loved Johnny U. It was really weird when they left Baltimore in the middle of the night. I never liked them again. When the Browns moved to Baltimore I was crushed. I tried to be a Ravens fan, just because it was my team in another city. That lasted about a week. The thought of them leaving the best fans in the NFL was puzzling. I never hated the Ravens, until Ray Lewis. After that I detested everything about them. The Colts got what they deserved, years of mediocrity, until Peyton. The Steelers though, make me wretch. Their fans are sickening, and their announcers, including Myron Cope, disgusted me.

I was and still am a Unitas fan.
He was my favoite player as a kid. My father was Lithuanian as was Johnny. Plus he was the man plain and simple.
No confusion as far as team though. Any team playing the Browns is my enemy.
I guess that because of the whole team move deal with the Ravens and Browns. I just kinda of let that go.
I hate the Steelers. That is mostly because of Bradshaw era. I hated their success especially against us. Chuck Knoll basically made those teams from the Paul Brown mold. That made it worse.
Today's Ravens under Harbaugh. They are a well coached good team. We need to beat them. But it is the Steelers that I want to destroy.

I also remember that when the Browns left, generally, cleveland people didn't want another cities team. they wanted an expansion team. I also remember how the NFL Ripped us off compared to Jacksonville and Carolina.

I disagree. Modell maneuvered and manipulated the Baltimore situation to his own benefit. He needed a huge cash windfall in order to overcome his own ineptitude and mismanagement.
In the expansion vote in 1993, Modell led the charge against allowing expansion in Baltimore, despite them promising a new stadium. Lerner was the prospective owner for a Baltimore team, but his close friend Art Modell led the charge against him, and Baltimore, instead supporting the smallest city in the NFL, and an ownership group who had quit the race only shortly before the vote. Modell cited things such as lack of support for the Colts, (a team run by completely inept ownership at that time) among other factors.
Then Modell, about 2 1/2 years later, decided that Baltimore was a good city for an NFL team after all ..... his team.
Let's not rewrite history in order to absolve Modell of his actions.
Micah 6:8; He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.
John 14:19 Jesus said: Because I live, you also will live.
