I’ve been in the same league for years but it appears it’s not going to be renewed this season. Are there any fantasy leagues related to this message board or its members? I typically play on yahoo sports but am just looking for any open league with players who don’t bail after week 3.

I'm also looking for a league, I prefer Yahoo, but I am setup on ESPN as well. Maybe we can get a 10 teamer going on either platform.

I’d be up for it this year. I also prefer yahoo. There’s been 1 in the past, but couldn’t say who ran it.

I can set one up for Saturday Sept 4th, with a draft time of 9:00pm if we can get 10. On yahoo.

My league went belly up this year too, so I'm in. Thanks, Frenchy. Looks like 1/2 point PPR, right?

The only setting I don't like is the 5 point field goal (+50 yds). A FG shouldn't be worth more than a TD pass by a QB (4 pts), imo. But no biggy, I'll get over it. 5 in, 5 to go. Sign up DT'ers - do it today, do it now.

4 more to fill it up. Once we fill up I will set the draft so everyone can start preparing for their draft slot. I like to do some mock drafts with my draft position to see what might be there at my picks.

I like to do some mock drafts with my draft position to see what might be there at my picks. Just FYI, but this is my go-to: https://draftwizard.fantasypros.com/football/mock-draft-simulator/ Sometimes mocks with real people can be useful, but mostly I've found them a huge waste of time. I like being able to draft like 10 times in the same amount of time it takes to do one real-person mock.

Welcome GM. It's Commissioner Frenchy's call, but I wouldn't mind trying to get to 12 teams if we can get there in the next couple days. Just need a few days to try the Yahoo mock draft, since I'm used to the ESPN model.

I dont mind 12, I’ve tried my friends, facebook, work no more luck there, so I would count on you guys to get us to 12. Just dont want to be stuck on 11 and someone has to go to get back to 10.

I'm fine either way 10 or 12 as long as it's a even number. Not that it matters since the commish is in charge. 👍

It looks like Yahoo has a mechanism to collect league fees. I assume they take Paypal? Might be a problem for some - not everyone uses online payment services.

I don’t care one way or the other but should the number of playoff teams be increased with 12 teams instead of 10?

So now we just need a draft order, and maybe some last minute setting adjustments.

It won't let me let the draft order happen, So I guess it will be random like 30 minutes before the draft.

I've only ever played on ESPN, and I was never commissioner, but I do know that over there you could do a manual draft order and set it it beforehand. 30 minutes before the draft doesn't really let you mock draft from your draft spot.

Found this on the googles:
you can set the draft order manually. You will need to finalize your team list (Commissioner>Draft & Keepers>Finalize Team List). After you do this the greyed out "Edit Draft Order & Assign Keeper Players" tool will become available.

I’ve done this quite a few times as a commish and it would always come up, not sure why it’s not now.

Okay it is there now, the draft will be set in a few, it is random so no complaining about where you draft, lol. This is final once I set it.

My first time with Yahoo FF, I have to say I'm not impressed with their mock draft set up. You can either choose your draft slot from a list of available mock drafts, but they are all 12 team mocks, so your available picks are skewed lower. Or you can choose a 10 team mock, but take your chances at which slot you're drafting at. I ended up entering about 7 10-team mocks and then leaving them until finally getting a #5 slot. Annoying.

IMO those mock drafts are nothing but a waste of time anyway.
Until they can see inside everybody in your leagues mind, they are worth as much as a mill.

Yahoo didn't care for my draft. They gave me a C. But I'm like Baker, that grade will put a chip on my shoulder and only serve to motivate me. Besides, it was late and I'm an old man. I should have named my team "The Uncle Leo's".

Yeah, they didn't care for mine either, but I noticed when i was doing the mocks that they base it all on the points that "they" predict each player will get for the year and if you look they predict almost every player to earn more points than the year before.

I'm in a Yahoo fantasy baseball league, and I don't put a lot of stock in their evaluations and projections there. I've played football and baseball in ESPN leagues mostly, and - IMO - their info is better.

One of Yahoo's criticisms:
Smoking Fez Monkeys seem to prioritize age before beauty, assembling a lineup with an average of 7.3 years of NFL experience, ranking as the oldest group in the league. Driving that point home, they didn't pick any of the 14 rookies drafted.
Well, yeah, my 2 QBs are a combined 103 years old. If preferring veterans is a flaw, call me George Allen. That said, I might still suck ...

Here's my roster:
Russell Wilson Calvin Ridley Robert Woods Alvin Kamara David Montgomery Mike Gesecki Tyler Bass Tampa Bay
Sony Michel Rhamondre Stevenson Marvin Jones Jr Mac Jones Latavious Murray Henry Ruggs III
Yahoo gave me a B. Only one team was given an A in the 12 team draft

He's a good pick up. Can't remember who I had first, but I went for Ingram and Mitchell. I was 4th in waiver order after you and cfrs15. Funny thing about David Johnson is that a couple years ago he was the 3rd or 4th pick in most fantasy drafts.

Haha I avoided Mitchell because I have Sermon and I actually hate having multiple guys from a RBBC situation. I inevitably start the wrong one, which is somehow way more frustrating than just taking a shot on your guy to have a good game.

Can we retroactively go back and make this a money league?
Somehow I ended up with a juggernaut and I would like to monetize it.
Anyone want to buy an NFT of my fantasy team?

Fantasy is funny … I was SURE my one team would dominate (Josh Allen, Davante Adams, CeeDee Lamb, Aaron Jones, Darrell Henderson) … and it is in last place
I was SURE my other team would suck (Jalen Hurts, Cooper Kupp, Terry McLauren, Dalvin Cook, Joe Mixon) and it is in first place
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

Assuming we continue the league next year, what are some things we might want to change? I have a few we might consider:
* Make it a money league? It would make it more interesting, IMO, even if its just $25 or $50.
* Consider changing to a full PPR? I'd prefer this.
* Eliminate TE's, add a 2nd Flex option? The Kelce's, Waller's, Kittle's, and Gronk's would still get drafted, but probably not many other TEs.
* Consider adding an IDP (individual defensive player)? Not sure Yahoo supports it, but if they do, it might be interesting to have a player who scores with Tackles, Sacks, Fumbles (caused & recovered), and Ints.
* Review scoring settings.
How about you - any thoughts?

I like everything you suggested. I would add that I’d like to get out of yahoo completely and do an IDP Dynasty league. So much more fun and strategic when you are keeping players from year to year. I love those leagues.

Also, I like a draft where we draft early enough where you get hours to draft, they don’t actually take as long as you would think, because most people are pretty quick. That way if there are computer issues like I had this time while traveling, or if someone can’t be there that day, everyone can avoid auto draft. It might take some days to draft, but who cares?

I would like it to be a full ppr league, and for the love of all that's wholly get rid of the 5 day waiting period to pick up somebody on waivers.

I've only played FF for about 5 years and I have heard of "Dynasty Leagues", but I don't really know what that means. Is it the same as a keeper league, and how does that work?

What is a Dynasty League?
A dynasty style fantasy football league is a league where you retain most, or all of your players, from year to year. This creates an environment that is very different from a redraft league. By enabling team owners to keep players and build a team over time, there can be a much stronger sense of team ownership, and success is achieved with a greater sense of satisfaction.
Mistakes or successes in a dynasty league can affect the fortunes of a franchise for years to come, just like in the NFL. A dynasty league also facilitates trades, including trading of rookie draft picks, and it encourages a deeper roster pool, so young 'project' players can be identified and groomed.
What's the difference between a Dynasty League and a Keeper League?
A keeper league is similar to a dynasty league, but involves keeping a smaller portion of your players. Basically, a keeper league allows for a few players to be retained. A dynasty league allows for most or all players to be retained.

Thanks for the info. Sounds like you better have a good first draft in a dynasty league, or you're [bleeped] for years to come, but I'd be willing to consider it

Actually, I feel like you are less screwed, because your team usually has more players, and you can pick up sleepers who become stars, and keep young players until they finally shine. The draft then, every year is the NFL draft because we would draft right after the players are drafted by the teams.

I would prefer, if we do this again, that the playoffs don’t start until the Bye weeks are over. I realize there can be problems with teams resting players, but that is random. It’s a killer when your best players are on Bye the first week of the playoffs.

I play in 2 keeper money leagues. i really like it. Dynasty and keeper are the same deal. Before the next draft you keep your starters. We have 12 starting/flex positions a team...so we keep 9 players, then re=draft to a roster 22 players.

Thanks to Frenchy for starting the league, and also to all the team owners for competing all year. Maybe in the next few months we can chat about tweaking things a bit, either here on this thread or with the league email messenger. Hope to see you all return next season.

Thanks for everyone playing and keeping it pretty active all season. I should have looked at the playoff weeks a little closer, this should have been championship weekend. Oh well had fun, keep this going maybe someone wants to run a money league, live draft, dynasty keepers, whatever. My buddy and me are both good for next season.

Hi kids - do we want to revisit some of the requested changes and start making plans for the season? It's going to be time to draft in 6-7 weeks, and it will sneak up on us quickly. Maybe we should only consider a couple change/options for this season, like the money amount and how we'll pay, and also making it a full PPR. I don't think we have time to consider all the proposed changes in the time we have before the season begins because it just takes so long to get everyone to weigh in.
EDIT: I wanted to send this on the League Message board because it sends to email addy's, but I can't find a click for new message sending. League might need to be activated for '22 first (or I'm just a lame-o).

Not that my opinion matters since I don't play in your league. I am involved in 4 others that fill my time slot.
I would recommend you go to a full PPR scoring. I think otherwise it skews it too far to the running game, and as you know, lots can go wrong there. Players get hurt and sometimes a coach just decides the team isn't going to run the ball for one reason or another.
There is also a scarcity of workhorse backs. If your guy gets hurt, you probably aren't going to find a replacement. If a receiver gets hurt, it is easier to find a decent replacement for either position that might go down. You are just going to play a receiver in the flex position rather than a 2nd or 3rd back, which most people do.
My experience is that keeps players involved with the league rather than simply folding and stop managing their team.
If everybody had like minds, we would never learn. GM Strong

Update Frenchy is very busy with other business, and he may or may not be able to play fantasy football this year. He is definitely not able to continue as commissioner. Would anyone be willing to take over as commissioner? I would not be interested in taking that on, but I'm hoping one of our other members has experience and might consider it? Please PM others in the league that you know so we can maybe salvage the league, and get moving on a couple of the items I mentioned (pay league, full PPR, etc).

Frenchy, are we going forward with the 12 team league? We need to find out if everyone is still onboard with a non-money league, and it'll be time to draft before we know it.

I guess we are. I set it back up. Thinking we need 4 or 5 owners. Havent actually checked it since it was reactivated for a his coming season.
How does everyone feel about the draft? I’ve always liked the draft the Saturday night a week before the season starts, so most of the rosters are set, injuries, whatever. And 8:00pm is always good.

No payout. Some of us wanted it, but enough didn't that we couldn't. Full PPR, H2H format. 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 1 Flex, 1 Team Defense, 1 PK on starting roster. I forget roster position totals. PM Frenchy if you're interested.

Draft time has been changed, Saturday September 3, at 5:00pm. This was changed so it doesn’t conflict with the Buckeye game.

I've been doing a lot of mocks lately, did 1 the other day where I picked 8th in a 10 team league and this is what I got:
Starters
QB Aaron Rodgers RB Joe Mixon RB Nick Chubb WR AJ Brown WR Mike Williams TE TJ Hockenson FLEX Allen Robinson K Cade York DEF Chargers
Bench
QB Derek Carr RB AJ Dillon RB Miles Sanders WR Darnell Mooney WR George Pickens TE Pat Freiermuth
Only got a C+ grade, said I had a strong bench but that I was weak at QB, WR, TE, K, and defense.

We are locked in with 10, no more interest from anyone. Draft order is random and will be set like 30 minutes before the draft.

I like how it worked out for the most part. QB and RB could be interesting.

Mine:
Starters: QB - Russell Wilson (DEN) RB - Leonard Fournette (TB) RB - James Conner (ARI) WR - J’Marr Chase (CIN) WR - Davante Adams (LV) TE - Zach Ertz (ARI) FLEX - Jalen Waddle (MIA) K - Harrison Butker (KC) D - Denver
Bench: QB - Justin Fields (CHI) RB - AJ Dillon (GB) RB - Rhamondre Stevenson (NE) WR - Juju Smith-Schuster (KC) WR - Michael Gallup (DAL) TE - Pat Freiermuth (PIT)
Don’t love my team and don’t hate it either. I like the WRs I have A LOT, but there’s some “Meh” to my RB’s.
Good draft for all I thought (and fast haha)

Dawg66 you really benching A Rodgers vs Chi for Carr vs Ari? I always thought Rodgers was a draft, put in line-up and only change for the bye, type of player.

Yep, Can't afford for him to have another week like last week, he generated a whole 4.70 points last week against Minnesota. Plus Carr is going against a bad Arizona defense.

I like how it worked out for the most part. QB and RB could be interesting. Starting Carson Wentz this week, so, ummm, yeah, QB is... interesting already. Not completely giving up on Lance yet, but another rain game with no/limited Kittle doesn't sound like a great recipe for fantasy. With Detroit down a starting CB, I'll give the Wentz rollercoaster a try this week. I'd probably go Carr over Rodgers this week, too. The Packers O looked awful. Unfortunately the Raiders didn't look great either, but at least Carr has some high end targets and Waller should be able to eat against the Cardinals LBs.

Playoff time. Should be interesting. Good luck everyone.
So far so good for me. Adams was held pretty well in check Thursday. Hopefully I guess right with my RBs.

It was a fun regular season! I hate several of my matchups this weekend, but what can you do? I also hated that two teams pretty much quit being active after the first couple of weeks. Let’s replace them next year.
Good luck everybody!

I had my worst season ever, I lost 2 games by less than 1.5 points. Seems like every week the team i was up against would have some scrub in their line up that would have the best game of his career that week.

Anybody up to a new fantasy site? It is called Sleeper Fantasy App. I’m gonna look into it (already downloaded) and might run one there if people are willing to try this new site. Gonna make sure it is free.
What are some things you would like in your fantasy football season?

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

Glad to see you made it in.
Made the league for 10, that can change if needed. Made it a two keeper league. Also made one IDP, individual defensive player, that can change if noone wants it. Draft Saturday September 2, 7:00pm

What are some things you would like in your fantasy football season? I was thinking about that b/c nobody plays the correct version imo. Maybe a ten person double drafted no touch accumulation league, with agreed upon point totals. let me explain, .. where everyone always plays, fix it and forget it, like FF was supposed to be. Oh, and drafted by position, unless it were endless drafted where the draft by position wouldn't matter. one.., accumulation means no weekly matchups, every team is going for the most accumulated points by the end of the year, or specified time. two.., double drafted would mean two teams can draft a player but not a third team, for instance two teams can have Pat mahomes as one of their @uarterbacks but a 3rd team could not have him, a triple drafted league would let 3 teams select a player but not a 4th team and an endless drafted league would let any team select any player, for instance all ten teams could have Pat Mahomes as one of their @uarterbacks a drafted by position league.. would be where if one team drafts a position, for instance kicker, then every team would draft their kicker until all the teams had their spots for kicker filled and then the draft would move on to a different position. Where everyone starts league.. would mean that all players on a team play every week healthy or not, and bye week or not and a fix it and forget it league. Or "no touch fix it and forget it' league. would mean that there are no trades, cuts or additions to your team after the draft day, if your players would happen to become injured for the year then your team just plays a man down for the rest of the year. agreed upon point totals would be, well, agreed upon point totals.. for instance, kickers Fg's could be worth 3 points , xps 0 a missed xp or kick would be negative one point five, a 2nd miss on the day negative four point five, ...one point five for the first miss and negative 3 for the 2nd miss a 3rd missed fg or xp, basically either way a ball can not go through the goal posts would be negative nine points negative 3 for each of the kicks and 4 through infinity missed kicks would still be negative nine because the worst a bad kick day should give you is negative nine points, team d would only score in Td's or safeties five points or two. an individual player on d getting a touchdown would be worth seven, all td's would be seven points unless thrown or by a team defense which would be worth five, a @uarterback rushing td would be seven points for the @uarterback, or five if he threw it and if he threw it to a receiver combo it would be twelve, five by the @b throw, and seven by the receiver catching it, and all extra point kicks would be worth 0 points unless missed where it would be probably negative one point five or negative three, see kicking above, two point conversions would always be worth one point, the eighth point, even,,, even if a defense... if a defense takes a 2 pt back the other way for a score, in that case and only that case, would the d get the 2 points, and the player who got seven for that particular td would be reduced to six, if it were a pass, the @uarterback who had gotten five would stay at five, Those would be some awesome ways to play fantasy football much like I believe the original fantasy baseball fans who began fantasy sports intended. team defense, cool, if an opponent final score were 0, your team D would get nine points if an opponents final score were 2 to 3 your team D would get seven points if an opponents final score were 4,five or six you would get five points, but if the opponents final score were seven or more then your team D shouldn't get any points, b/c they should be almost shut out points. yardage... hundred yard receiver on a day, five points two hundred yards on the day, twelve, hundred yard Rb, five points, two hundred through infinity yard Rb on one day, twelve points @uarterback yardage? 400 combined yards running and throwing, five points and five hundred plus combined twelve points and three hundred ninety nine would = 0 because nothing would kick in until they reached that next 'hundred' yard milestone, If you have an individual D player, and they get a pick 6, and you have that team defense too, well there would have to be a rule where the individual player can't get points for forcing the turnover, or recovering the turnover, on the same play where the player also got seven for the touchdown, but, the team D is a different player than the individual player therefore the team D could get the five for the touchdown, on the same play the player got the seven for the touchdown. therefore, ... a D player could get 3 for a turnover, and also 3 for forcing a turnover, therefore a player who forces a fumble and recovers that fumble on a play would have six points and if they get into the end zone would only get one more point for a total of seven on the play, because if an offensive player can't get more than seven on a single play then a defensive player should not be able to get thirteen + points on any one single snap. sacks,... would be worth, 0, for one, 0 for two, and 3 points for 3 on a day, 4 for four on a day, and one point each for any more on a day, and 0 for half sacks and that would be both for the indiv. D player, and the team D, This is what I would like to see in a fantasy Football league, well ,it doesn't exist, so no FF for me until it does.

Can Deshaun Watson play better for the Browns, than Baker Mayfield would have? ... Now the Games count.

What would I do with a blocked kick, then I got it, not 3 points like a turnover, but 2 points a blocked kick for a td would be worth only seven, unless it could be worth up to nine, but not more than nine, a blocked kick would be worth 2 points, and negate any negative points from your own missed Fg's up to a nine point value, and it could be cross game effective. meaning if your fantasy team lost points with the eagles and jets kickers missing, but your FF team had the bills D block a kick that could wipe out the negative points for misses in the other games up to nine. maybe twelve, maybe the whole day.

Do we know the order of our picks yet? I'd like to do a few mock drafts before Saturday because I stink at drafting lol
